Phantom Darkness (PTDN-EN) Card Ratings

1. For info on how these ratings are determined, click here.
2. Card gallery: https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Set_Card_Galleries:Phantom_Darkness_(TCG-EN-1E)
                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN099 | Effect Monster
Belial - Marquis of Darkness
DARK | Fiend | Level 8 |
ATK 2800 | DEF 2400
Your opponent cannot select any monster you control, except "Belial - Marquis of Darkness", as an attack target, or as a target of a Spell or Trap Card.
(Secret Rare)

Its stats and effect nearly rival Volcanic Doomfire's but is easier to Summon! Not bad but it needs 2 Tributes and has no other effect, giving it 3/5 stars.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN098 | Effect Monster
Goblin Zombie
DARK | Zombie | Level 4 | ATK 1100 | DEF 1050
When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, send the top card of their Deck to the Graveyard. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, add 1 Zombie-Type monster with 1200 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand.
(Secret Rare)

It does let you pick up some of the stronger monsters like...another Goblin Zombie...and...oh yeah that's it! I only say that's it because nothing else that fits its requirement is playable.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN097 | Effect Monster
Dark Red Enchanter
DARK | Spellcaster | Level 6 | ATK 1700 | DEF 2200
When this card is Normal Summoned, put 2 Spell Counters on it. Each time a Spell Card is activated, put 1 Spell Counter on this card. It gains 300 ATK for each Spell Counter on it. Once per turn, you can remove 2 Spell Counters from this card to make your opponent discard 1 random card.
(Secret Rare)

A disappointing card being a Secret Rare since its effect doesn't have much to go for but giving it Spell Counters can make it somewhat of a threat, though.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN096 | Trap Card
Call of the Earthbound
Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. You select the target of the attack.
(Rare)

Quite the useful card as you move your opponent's attack to any target you choose! Since it doesn't destroy the monster, its rating is 3/5.

                               Rating: 4 | PTDN-EN095 | Trap Card
Zoma the Spirit
Continuous Trap
After activation, Special Summon this card in Defense Position; it is treated as an Effect Monster Card (Zombie-Type/DARK/Level 4/ATK 1800/DEF 500). If this card is destroyed by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the monster that destroyed it. (This card is also still treated as a Trap Card.)
(Super Rare)

While it becomes a monster whose stats are only worthy of 3/5 stars, it inflicts damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the monster that destroyed it!

                               Rating: 4 | PTDN-EN094 | Trap Card
Metal Reflect Slime
Continuous Trap
After activation, Special Summon this card in Defense Position; it is treated as an Effect Monster Card (Aqua-Type/WATER/Level 10/ATK 0/DEF 3000). This card cannot attack. (This card is still treated as a Trap Card.)
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

A Trap Card that becomes a 3000 DEF wall without any heavy cost is excellent for just about any Deck!

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN093 | Effect Monster
Legendary Fiend
DARK | Fiend | Level 6 | ATK 1500 | DEF 1800
During each of your Standby Phases, this card gains 700 ATK.
(Rare)

I gave this guy an extra star for gaining 700 ATK each turn but other than that, it isn't likely to do well in battle with only 1500 ATK.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN092 | Effect Monster
Dark-Eyes Illusionist
DARK | Spellcaster | Level 2 | ATK 0 | DEF 1400
FLIP: Select 1 monster. While this monster remains face-up on the field that monster cannot attack.
(Rare)

Its Level may be 2 but its rating is 1 and for good reason as it only stops 1 monster from attacking and with low stats, that monster will be able to attack once this card leaves the field.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN091 | Effect Monster
Castle Gate
EARTH | Rock | Level 6 | ATK 0 | DEF 2400
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Once per turn, if this card is in face-up Attack Position, you can Tribute 1 Level 5 or lower monster to inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's original ATK.
(Rare)

2400 DEF is pretty decent, especially since it can't be destroyed in battle! Plus you can use its other effect to hammer your opponent! It receives 3/5 stars for its final effect and 0 ATK.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN090 | Effect Monster
Vampire's Curse
DARK | Zombie | Level 6 | ATK 2000 | DEF 800
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can pay 500 Life Points. If you do, Special Summon it during the next turn's Standby Phase. When this card is Special Summoned this way, it gains 500 ATK.
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

Stats of (2000/800) may seem weak but use its effect and it'll come back with 2500 ATK, which can take out Jinzo or Gigaplant! Why does it only get 3/5 stars? It must be destroyed by battle to get its effect.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN089 | Effect Monster
Aztekipede, the Worm Warrior
EARTH | Insect | Level 4 | ATK 1900 | DEF 400
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, send the top card of their Deck to the Graveyard.
(Rare)

Why a 1-star rating for a 1900 ATK monster? He has a Summoning requirement and a terrible effect, that's why and that's why you shouldn't run him as there are better monsters out there than him.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN088 | Effect Monster
Lonefire Blossom
FIRE | Plant | Level 3 | ATK 500 | DEF 1400
Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 face-up Plant-Type monster to Special Summon 1 Plant-Type monster from your Deck.
(Rare)

It sure does make Summoning Regenerating Rose much easier but its ATK is 500 more than RR and is much easier to Summon. Though neither one are playable so don't use them.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN087 | Effect Monster
Prime Material Dragon
LIGHT | Dragon | Level 6 | ATK 2400 | DEF 2000
Any effect that would inflict damage to a player instead increases their Life Points by the same amount. When a card's effect to destroy a monster(s) on the field is activated, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate its activation and destroy the card.
(Super Rare)

With stats of (2400/2000) and the ability to stop Burn Decks, this card is a decent way to keep your LPs high! Since it applies to your opponent as well, it's rating is 3/5.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN086 | Effect Monster
Golden Flying Fish
LIGHT | Fish | Level 4 | ATK 1700 | DEF 1000
You can Tribute 1 other Fish-Type monster to destroy 1 card on the field.
(Super Rare)

He can destroy any card on the field but you have to waste one of your own monsters to do so, use Man-Eater Bug or Old Vindictive Magician instead.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN085 | Effect Monster
Metabo Globster
DARK | Fiend | Level 3 | ATK 800 | DEF 300
When you Tribute this card for the Tribute Summon of a DARK monster, Special Summon 3 "Metabo Tokens" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon.
(Rare)

While he does wield the Plasma Summoning ability, you have to Tribute him for a DARK monster to get the effect, which is pretty bad. Save your Deck space and leave this card out.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN084 | Spell Card
Allure of Darkness
Normal Spell
Draw 2 cards, then remove from play 1 DARK monster from your hand. If you don't have any DARK monsters in your hand to remove, send all cards in your hand to the Graveyard.
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

A decent card for DARK Decks no doubt but can also be good if you just use D.D. Survivor or D.D. Scout Plane as they return to the field during the End Phase!

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN083 | Effect Monster
Deepsea Macrotrema
WATER | Fish | Level 1 | ATK 600 | DEF 100
When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, all face-up WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK until the end of this turn.
(Rare)

This card is ridiculously horrible! It gives WATER monsters 500 ATK when it's sent to the Graveyard for one turn! Worse yet it doesn't have decent stats to back it up. A horrible card to use.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN082 | Effect Monster
Darknight Parshath
DARK | Fairy | Level 5 | ATK 1900 | DEF 1400
When this card destroys an opponent's monster, you can remove from play 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard to draw 1 card. This card gains 100 ATK for each DARK monster in your Graveyard.
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

Being an Ultra Rare, gaining a mere 100 ATK per DARK monster in your Grave is pretty bad and his other effect isn't great either. Don't run this card.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN081 | Effect Monster
Darklord Zerato
DARK | Fairy | Level 8 | ATK 2800 | DEF 2300
If there are 4 or more DARK monsters with different names in your Graveyard, you can Tribute Summon this monster by Tributing 1 DARK monster. You can send 1 DARK monster from your hand to the Graveyard to destroy all monsters your opponent controls. If you activate this effect, destroy this card during the End Phase of this turn.
(Secret Rare)

He may boast 2800 ATK and a Raigeki effect but he dies at the End Phase if the effect is used. Run Demise, King of Armageddon instead.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN080 | Trap Card
Fine
Normal Trap
Discard 2 cards.
(Short Print Common)

An okay card for Dark World Decks but horrible elsewhere.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN079 | Trap Card
Transmigration Break
Continuous Trap
Any cards that would be returned to the Deck from the Graveyard are removed from play instead.
(Common)

Bad for basically any Deck except RFG Decks.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN078 | Trap Card
Cry Havoc!
Continuous Trap
You can remove from play 1 monster from your Graveyard to Normal Summon or Set 1 Normal Monster from your hand. You can only activate this effect during your Main Phase.
(Rare)

With monsters that Special Summon themselves when removed from play, they do have uses with this card but that's about it.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN077 | Trap Card
Offering to the Snake Deity
Normal Trap
Destroy 1 Reptile-Type monster you control and 2 cards your opponent controls.
(Rare)

The only reason I rate this card 2/5 is because it can power up your Vennominon/Vennominaga but that's it.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN076 | Trap Card
Double Tag Team
Normal Trap
Activate only when you successfully Special Summon a "Gladiator Beast" monster. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Gladiator Beast" monster from your hand or Deck.
(Common)

Hmm, where should you run this...? Oh yeah in GB Decks only so do that.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN075 | Trap Card
All-Out Attacks
Continuous Trap
All monsters that are Special Summoned are changed to face-up Attack Position and must attack, if able, during the turn they are Special Summoned.
(Common)

This card can't touch a Special Summoned Jinzo or Wildheart and it applies to your monsters too, which hurts it even more. Don't run this card.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN074 | Trap Card
Drastic Drop Off
Counter Trap
Activate only when your opponent adds a card(s) from their Deck to their hand, including drawing a card(s). Your opponent discards 1 of those cards.
(Ultra Rare)

The drop off isn't very drastic since it only drops one of the cards your opponent drew, which might be a Dark World monster and giving them the chance to Summon it! A poor card for an Ultra Rare.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN073 | Trap Card
Gemini Trap Hole
Normal Trap
Activate only when a Gemini Monster that is treated as an Effect Monster is destroyed by battle. Destroy all monsters your opponent controls.
(Common)

For Gemini monster Decks, this card isn't too bad but elsewhere, it's just horrible.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN072 | Trap Card
Escape from the Dark Dimension
Continuous Trap
Select 1 of your removed from play DARK monsters and Special Summon it. When this card is removed from the field, destroy and remove from play that monster. When that monster is destroyed, destroy this card.
(Super Rare)

If your opponent is running Dimensional Fissure or your monster was sent there with Dimensional Prison, this card is okay to use but other than that, use Call of the Haunted instead.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN071 | Trap Card
Dark Illusion
Counter Trap
Negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect that targets a face-up DARK monster, and destroy that card.
(Rare)

Run only in DARK Decks as there is no use for it elsewhere.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN070 | Trap Card
Dark Spirit Art - Greed
Normal Trap
Tribute 1 DARK monster. Draw 2 cards. Your opponent can negate this effect by revealing 1 Spell Card in their hand.
(Rare)

First of all, you have to wait to activate it. Second, you must Tribute a monster and all your opponent has to do to negate it is show a Spell Card. Truly horrible!

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN069 | Trap Card
Cybernetic Hidden Technology
Continuous Trap
When an opponent's monster declares an attack, you can send 1 "Cyber Dragon" you control, or a Fusion Monster you control that lists "Cyber Dragon" as a Fusion Material Monster to the Graveyard. Destroy the attacking monster.
(Common)

This "technology" can stay hidden as the TCG doesn't need "technology" this bad to stay alive.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN068 | Trap Card
Alchemy Cycle
Normal Trap
The original ATK of all face-up monsters you control becomes 0, until the End Phase. Each time a monster that had its original ATK reduced to 0 by this effect is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, draw 1 card.
(Common)

Even in Exodia Decks this card is bad as all it takes is a Final Attack Orders and you'll be taking major damage odds are.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN067 | Trap Card
Chain Material
Normal Trap
Any time you Fusion Summon a monster this turn, you can remove from play, from your side of the field, Deck, hand or Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on the Fusion Monster Card, and use them as Fusion Material Monsters. You cannot attack during the turn this card is activated. If you used this effect for a Fusion Summon, the Summoned Fusion Monster is destroyed during the End Phase.
(Common)

Chain Material? This card isn't even Deck material! Use Polymerization, etc instead.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN066 | Trap Card
Hate Buster
Normal Trap
Activate only when a face-up Fiend-Type monster you control is selected as an attack target. Destroy the attacking monster and the attack target monster, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the original ATK of the attacking monster.
(Rare)

It can be useful for a monster that is going to be destroyed by battle and deal major damage but other than that, pretty bad to use.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN065 | Trap Card
Sinister Seeds
Normal Trap
Activate only when a face-up Attack Position monster you control is destroyed by battle. Special Summon 1 "Sinister Seed Token" (Plant-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 100/DEF 100) for every 500 points of Battle Damage you took from that battle.
(Common)

Special Summoning a mediocre Token whose stats won't keep you from taking damage, are weaker than the damage you took and cards like TT can leave you defenseless!

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN064 | Trap Card
Rainbow Life
Normal Trap
Discard 1 card. Until the end of this turn, whenever you would take damage you gain that amount of Life Points instead.
(Rare)

The ultimate defense against burn Decks! A decent card for almost any Deck, especially Life Point Gain!

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN063 | Trap Card
Rainbow Path
Normal Trap
Activate only by sending 1 "Crystal Beast" card from your Spell & Trap Card Zone to the Graveyard when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack, then, you can add 1 "Rainbow Dragon" or "Rainbow Dark Dragon" from your Deck to your hand.
(Common)

A must for Crystal Beast Decks as it makes sure that your Rainbow Dragon makes its debut onto your field!

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN062 | Spell Card
Dark World Grimoire
Continuous Spell
During your End Phase, if you discard a Monster Card(s) to the Graveyard because you had more than 6 cards in your hand, you can Special Summon 1 of those monsters.
(Common)

With all the powerful cards out there, there is no room for such a mediocre card like this one since DW monsters just have to be discarded to the Grave by an effect to trigger their effects.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN061 | Spell Card
Gladiator Proving Ground
Normal Spell
Add 1 Level 4 or lower "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck to your hand.
(Common)

Same as PTDN-EN060's comments.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN060 | Spell Card
Gladiator Beast's Battle Archfiend Shield
Equip Spell
Equip only to a "Gladiator Beast" monster. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, this card is destroyed instead. When the equipped monster is returned from your side of the field to the Deck and this card is sent to the Graveyard, return this card to your hand.
(Common)

Like I said with Six Samurai United, keep this card only in Gladiator Beast Decks.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN059 | Spell Card
Six Samurai United
Continuous Spell
Each time a "Six Samurai" monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned, place 1 Bushido Counter on this card (max. 2). You can send this card to the Graveyard to draw 1 card for each Bushido Counter on this card.
(Rare)

Use only in Six Samurai Decks. Plain and simple.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN058 | Spell Card
Acidic Downpour
Field Spell
All EARTH monsters lose 500 ATK and gain 400 DEF.
(Common)

Use Gaia Power instead as it's actually playable compared to this card.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN057 | Spell Card
Chain Summoning
Quick-Play Spell
Activate only as Chain Link 3 or higher. You can Normal Summon or Set up to 3 times this turn. You cannot activate this card if multiple cards/effects with the same name are in that Chain.
(Common)

If you get lucky (and that's a big IF), you can get an additional Summon but if another CS is activated, this one's effect is null and void.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN056 | Spell Card
Unleash Your Power!
Quick-Play Spell
All Gemini Monsters that were on your side of the field when this card was activated are treated as Effect Monsters, and gain their effect(s). During the End Phase of this turn, Set all monsters affected by this card's effect.
(Common)

One should rename this card "Unleash Your Laughter" as its such a horrible card that your opponent will burst out laughing. Don't run this card, even in Gemini Decks.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN055 | Spell Card
Fires of Doomsday
Quick-Play Spell
If you activate this card, you cannot Summon other monsters this turn. Special Summon 2 "Doomsday Tokens" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon, unless it is for a DARK monster.
(Rare)

The Stray Lambs wannabe. Use Scapegoat instead as you can Tribute them for Dogma or Plasma.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN054 | Spell Card
Dark Eruption
Normal Spell
Add 1 DARK monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Graveyard to your hand.
(Super Rare)

It can retrieve Exodia's Head, Sangan and even Blast Sphere but still, because it can't just pick any DARK monster, its rating stays at 2/5.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN053 | Spell Card
The Beginning of the End
Normal Spell
Activate only if there are 7 or more DARK monsters in your Graveyard. Remove from play 5 DARK monsters from your Graveyard to draw 3 cards.
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

Due to the large activation requirement, this card's rating becomes 3/5. There are cards in this set that should make it easier to activate it, though.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN052 | Spell Card
Cybernetic Zone
Quick-Play Spell
Select 1 face-up Machine-Type Fusion Monster you control and remove it from play until the End Phase of this turn. When that monster is returned to the field, double its ATK. During your next Standby Phase, destroy it.
(Common)

It does double the ATK of the monster when it returns but even Power Bond is better as the monster STAYS on the field while with this card leaves the monster susceptible to Bottomless and Torrential.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN051 | Spell Card
Dimension Explosion
Quick-Play Spell
Return 1 face-up Fusion Monster you control to the Fusion Deck. Both players select up to 2 of their monsters that are removed from play, and Special Summon them.
(Common)

The requirement for activating this card is far too steep to make it playable and it can give your opponent a major advantage!

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN050 | Spell Card
Spell Chronicle
Continuous Spell
Send all cards in your hand to the Graveyard. Select and remove from play 5 Spell or Trap Cards from your Deck. Each time your opponent activates a Spell Card, place 1 Chronicle Counter on this card. You can remove 2 Chronicle Counters from this card to have your opponent select 1 of the cards removed from play with this card's effect, and add it to your hand. When this card is removed from the field, you take 500 damage for each card that is still removed from play due to this card's effect.
(Common)

A horrible card undeserving of any other rating! It majorly hurts you as you have to discard your hand, RFG 5 Spell Cards in your Deck and take 500 damage per card still RFG when it's gone! Run in Yubel's Deck only.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN049 | Spell Card
Mirage Tube
Quick-Play Spell
This card cannot be activated from your hand. Activate only when a face-up monster you control is selected as an attack target. Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
(Common)

Use Meteor of Destruction everywhere else and keep this card in Jaden's Season 3 Deck.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN048 | Spell Card
Instant Neo Space
Equip Spell
Equip only to a Fusion Monster that lists "Elemental Hero Neos" as a Fusion Material Monster. The equipped monster does not have to have its effect activated that returns itself to the Fusion Deck during the End Phase. When the equipped monster is removed from the field, you can Special Summon 1 "Elemental Hero Neos" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.
(Common)

Don't run this card UNLESS you are running the Elemental Hero Neos Fusion monsters as this card is useless anywhere else. I gave it 2/5 because you Summon Neos from anywhere you possess him.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN047 | Spell Card
Vicious Claw
Equip Spell
The equipped monster gains 300 ATK. If the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle, return this card to its owner's hand instead. Then, destroy 1 monster, except the one that battled the equipped monster, and inflict 600 damage to your opponent. After that, Special Summon 1 "Evil Token" (Fiend-Type/
DARK/Level 7/ATK 2500/DEF 2500) on your opponent's side of the field. During the turn this card is returned to your hand, you cannot use "Vicious Claw" from your hand.

(Common)

There are very limited uses for this card, especially since it only gives the equipped monster 300 ATK and gives your opponent a 2500 ATK and DEF Token but that can be used to Tribute for Plasma or you can destroy it with Torrential Tribute.

                               Rating: 4 | PTDN-EN046 | Spell Card
Super Polymerization
Quick-Play Spell
Discard 1 card. Send, from either side of the field to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card, and Special Summon that monster from your Fusion Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) Spells, Traps, and Effect Monsters' effects cannot be activated in response to this card's activation.
(Rare)

The only reason this card's rating is under 5 is because you have to discard a card to use it but overall very deadly as you can take monsters from either field and its effect can't be chained to!

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN045 | Spell Card
Rainbow Veil
Equip Spell
If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster, while that monster is on the field its effect(s) is negated during the Battle Phase only.
(Common)

With a monster like Rainbow Neos, this card has its uses since it negates Man-Eater Bugs, Jinzo, or any other powerful Effect Monsters' effects!

                               Rating: 4 | PTDN-EN044 | Fusion Monster
Rainbow Neos
LIGHT | Warrior-Type Fusion | Level 10 | ATK 4500 | DEF 3000
"Elemental Hero Neos" + "Rainbow Dragon" or "Rainbow Dark Dragon"
This card cannot be Special Summoned, except by Fusion Summon with the above Fusion Material Monsters. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of the following effects:
● Send a monster you control to the Graveyard to return all monsters your opponent controls to the Deck.
● Send 1 Spell or Trap Card you control to the Graveyard to return all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls to the Deck. ● Send 1 card from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard to return all cards in your opponent's Graveyard to the Deck.

(Secret Rare), (Ultimate Rare) & (Ghost Rare)

His effects drop his rating by 1 star but other than that, a pretty powerful card for almost any Deck!

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN043 | Fusion Monster
Elemental Hero Storm Neos
WIND | Warrior-Type Fusion | Level 9 | ATK 3000 | DEF 2500
"Elemental Hero Neos" + "Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird" + "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin"
This card can only be Special Summoned from your Fusion Deck by returning the above cards you control to the Deck (You do not use "Polymerization".) Once per turn, you can destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field. This card returns to the Fusion Deck during the End Phase. When this card is returned to the Fusion Deck by this effect, return all cards on the field to the Deck.
(Super Rare)

What keeps such a powerful monster at 3/5? His effect includes your Spell and Trap Cards and the fact that he returns to the Fusion Deck during the End Phase. Still a decent card to use.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN042 | Fusion Monster
Neo-Spacian Twinkle Moss
LIGHT | Plant-Type Fusion | Level 4 | ATK 500 | DEF 1100
This card's name is also treated as "Neo-Spacian Glow Moss". This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "NEX". When this card attacks or is attacked, draw 1 card. Reveal that card, and based on its type apply the proper effect: ● Monster: End the Battle Phase. ● Spell: You can change this card's attack to a direct attack. ● Trap: This monster is changed to Defense Position.
(Common)

Having a Summon requirement and not having decent stats to make up for it is horrible. Don't run him outside Jaden Season 3 Decks only.

Wind Effigy
WIND | Rock | Level 4 | ATK 1800 | DEF 200
This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a WIND Normal Monster.
(Common)

Alright, UDE, where did you think you were going with this card? Why did you bother giving him an effect that is only useful for non-existent monsters? Overall, a decent NORMAL monster.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN040 | Effect Monster
Earth Effigy
EARTH | Rock | Level 4 | ATK 100 | DEF 2000
This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of an EARTH Normal Monster.
(Common)

Not much more than a 2000 DEF wall, especially when his effect isn't worth brining out the monsters that fit his requirement.

Magnetic Mosquito
LIGHT | Insect | Level 3 | ATK 300 | DEF 1000
FLIP: Destroy all face-up Machine-Type monsters on the field.
(Common)

The only way this card will achieve anything spectacular is if all your opponent's monsters are Machines, which isn't very likely. Use a better monster instead.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN038 | Effect Monster
Blue Thunder T-45
LIGHT | Machine | Level 4 | ATK 1700 | DEF 1000
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, Special Summon 1 "Thunder Option Token" (Machine-Type/LIGHT/Level 4/ATK 1500/DEF 1500). This Token cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon.
(Common)

First of all, he has low odds of destroying a monster in battle with less than 1700 ATK and second, you can't even use the Token for a Tribute Summon!

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN037 | Effect Monster
Sea Koala
EARTH | Beast | Level 2 | ATK 100 | DEF 1600
Once per turn, if you control another Beast-Type monster, you can reduce the ATK of 1 monster your opponent controls to 0 until the End Phase.
(Common)

With only a mere 1600 DEF, it won't get a chance to use its effect unless your opponent is running monsters below 1600 or you have a stall card like SoRL out.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN036 | Effect Monster
The Calculator
LIGHT | Thunder | Level 2 | ATK ? | DEF 0
This card's ATK is equal to the combined Levels of all monsters you control x 300.
(Common)

This guy can become quite the power house, especially when it starts out with 600 ATK. That 0 DEF and no protecting effect keep this card's rating at 3/5.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN035 | Effect Monster
Cannon Soldier MK-2
EARTH | Machine | Level 5 | ATK 1900 | DEF 1200
You can Tribute 2 monsters to inflict 1500 damage to your opponent.
(Common)

The 1500 damage isn't too bad but to win with it, you'd have to Tribute at least 8 monsters and its stats don't exactly qualify for the one-Tribute it needs.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN034 | Effect Monster
Superancient Deepsea King Coelcanth
WATER | Fish | Level 7 | ATK 2800 | DEF 2200
Once per turn, you can discard 1 card to Special Summon as many Level 4 or lower Fish-Type monsters as possible from your Deck. A monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot declare an attack and its effect(s) is negated while on the field. If this card is targeted by a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's effect, you can Tribute 1 other Fish-Type monster to negate the effect and destroy that card.
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

I question why UDE decided this card was worthy of the Ultra Rare status when it requires two Tributes and has a cost to use either of its effects. Use Levia Dragon instead.

Black Veloci
EARTH | Dinosaur | Level 4 | ATK 1800 | DEF 300
If this card attacks an opponent's monster, this card gains 400 ATK during the Damage Step only. If this card is attacked by an opponent's monster, this card loses 400 ATK during the Damage Step only.
(Common)

A decent card for almost any Deck! The fact is if it is attacked, even monsters with 1450 ATK can destroy it.

                              Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN032 | Effect Monster
Imprisoned Queen Archfiend
DARK | Fiend | Level 8 | ATK 2600 | DEF 1700
This card's controller pays 1000 Life Points during each of their Standby Phases (this is not optional). During your Standby Phase, if "Pandemonium" is on the field and this card is in your Graveyard, 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster gains 1000 ATK until the End Phase.
(Common)

With horrible stats and two-Tribute requirement, this card is better off in the Grave as it can give Fiend-Type monsters below Level 5 1000 ATK if Pandemonium is out but only 1 Archfiend monster gets the boost.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN031 | Effect Monster
Gladiator Beast Darius
EARTH | Beast-Warrior | Level 4 | ATK 1700 | DEF 300
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Gladiator Beast" monster, you can select 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Graveyard and Special Summon it. That monster's effect(s) is negated, and it is returned to your Deck when this card is removed from the field. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Deck to Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Darius".
(Common)

Unless you're running Gladiator Beast Decks, don't run him at all.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN030 | Effect Monster
Field-Commander Rahz
EARTH | Warrior | Level 4 | ATK 1600 | DEF 1200
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, select 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your Deck, except "Field-Commander Rahz", and place it on top of your Deck.
(Super Rare)

He only gets 2/5 for being able to search out certain Destiny Hero/Elemental Hero monsters that may be deep in your Deck. Other than that, he's horrible.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN029 | Effect Monster
The Immortal Bushi
DARK | Warrior | Level 3 | ATK 1200 | DEF 600
This card cannot be Tributed, except for the Tribute Summon of a Warrior-Type monster. During your Standby Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon it. You cannot activate this effect if there are any monsters in your Graveyard that are not Warrior-Type.
(Common)

Don't even THINK about using this card except in Warrior Decks as he won't be immortal anywhere else.

Vengeful Shinobi
DARK | Warrior | Level 2 | ATK 400 | DEF 800
When this face-up Attack Position card is selected as an attack target, draw 1 card.
(Common)

I can see why he's vengeful with all the times he has been destroyed in battle. All he has is a draw engine. Unless you apply Mist Body on him or have Spirit Barrier out, don't bother with this card.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN027 | Effect Monster
Future Samurai
LIGHT | Warrior-Type Gemini | Level 4 | ATK 1600 | DEF 1200
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:
● Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 monster in your Graveyard to destroy 1 face-up monster.
(Rare)

The future of this samurai is in the Graveyard and very quickly (that is if anyone runs him/her and if not he/she'll be in the garbage can). Stats of (1600/1200) aren't worth Summoning or re-Summoning.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN026 | Effect Monster
Gigaplant
EARTH | Plant-Type Gemini | Level 6 | ATK 2400 | DEF 1200
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:
● Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Insect-Type or Plant-Type monster from your hand or Graveyard.
(Rare)

A strong 2400 ATK monster but with so few Plant monsters out there, you'll have to run him in an Insect Deck. You don't have to Tribute a monster to re-Summon him but his effect leaves him with 3/5.

                               Rating: 3 | PTDN-EN025 | Effect Monster
Gemini Lancer
WATER | Sea Serpent-Type Gemini | Level 4 | ATK 1800 | DEF 1400
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:
● During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent.
(Common)

One of the better Gemini monsters from this set. A base ATK of 1800 and trample ability make him at least decent enough to use unlike most other Gemini monsters.

Shadowpriestess of Ohm
DARK | Spellcaster | Level 4 | ATK 1700 | DEF 1600
You can Tribute 1 face-up DARK monster you control to inflict 800 damage to your opponent.
(Rare)

Sure she can easily send monsters like Sangan to the Grave but a mere 800 damage isn't worth losing one of your monsters and her stats won't allow her to last very long in battle.

Obsidian Dragon
DARK | Rock | Level 4 | ATK 800 | DEF 2100
Negate the effects of Spell and Trap Cards that target only 1 face-up DARK monster you control, and destroy them.

All he is is a 2100 DEF wall with a pretty bad effect. Unless for stall, don't run him as even Marshmallon or Spirit Reaper are better choices.

The ATK and DEF of this card are each equal to the number of removed from play DARK monsters x 300. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, return all removed from play DARK monsters to their owners' Graveyards.
(Super Rare)

The horror, the horror, or rather horrible! You'll need at least 5 RFP DARK monsters in your Grave to make this guy even a threat and without DAD, MC or DMoC, that isn't very likely.

Armageddon Knight
DARK | Warrior | Level 4 | ATK 1400 | DEF 1200
When this card is Summoned, you can send 1 DARK monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.
(Super Rare)

It seems to me that UDE made a mistake on this card's rarity in that it should've been a common since all it does is send a DARK monster to the Grave from the Deck. His stats aren't very menacing either.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN020 | Effect Monster
Dark Crusader
DARK | Warrior | Level 4 | ATK 1600 | DEF 200
You can send 1 DARK monster from your hand to the Graveyard to have this card gain 400 ATK.
(Common)

Normally for a card this weak, he'd get 1/5 but since he keeps the ATK boost and can make DAD easier to Summon gives him 2/5.

                               Rating: 4 | PTDN-EN019 | Effect Monster
Dark Armed Dragon
DARK | Dragon | Level 7 | ATK 2800 | DEF 1000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by having exactly 3 DARK monsters in your Graveyard. You can remove from play 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field.
(Secret Rare)

While he has a Special Summoning requirement, it isn't hard to get DARK monsters into the Grave with Foolish Burial and other cards from this set! His Summoning requirement lowers his rating by 1.

                               Rating: 1 | PTDN-EN018 | Effect Monster
Dark Nephthys
DARK | Winged Beast | Level 8 | ATK 2400 | DEF 1600
If this card is in your hand and there are 3 or more DARK monsters in your Graveyard, you can remove from play 2 of them to send it to the Graveyard. If this card is sent to the Graveyard by this effect, Special Summon it during your next Standby Phase. When this card is Special Summoned, destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card.
(Ultra Rare) & (Ultimate Rare)

Absolutely horrendous! Normal Summoning him requires 2 Tributes and his effects don't help him either, especially when the original Nephthys come back when a card effect destroys him.

The Dark Creator
DARK | Thunder | Level 8 | ATK 2300 | DEF 3000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned, by having 5 or more DARK monsters in your Graveyard while you control no monsters. Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard.
(Secret Rare)

Being a ScR card, I would've expected more but his stats are identical to his pure counterpart's and he can't be Summoned without 5+ DARK monsters in your Grave and no monsters on your field!

Dark Horus
DARK | Dragon | Level 8 | ATK 3000 | DEF 1800
Once per turn, when a Spell Card is activated during your opponent's Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 DARK monster from your Graveyard.

He brings back your Level 4 DARK monsters and can be Summoned normally but effect only activates when Spell Cards activate during the opponent's turn and can't be used more than once per turn.

Destiny Hero - Departed
DARK | Warrior | Level 2 | ATK 1000 | DEF 0
During your Standby Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position on your opponent's side of the field. If this card is destroyed by battle, remove it from play instead of sending it to the Graveyard. If a card effect would send this card to the Graveyard from the hand or Deck, remove it from play instead.
(Common)

They probably call him "Departed" because people won't want him in their Decks once they find out he is garbage and throw him out, thus departing with the duelist who used him.

Destiny Hero - Dunker
DARK | Warrior | Level 4 | ATK 1200 | DEF 1700
You can send 1 "Destiny Hero" card from your hand to the Graveyard to inflict 500 damage to your opponent.
(Common)

There's no way this guy would ever be a dunker in basketball with his mediocre stats and even worse effect. Don't run him except in the obvious Destiny Hero Decks.

Fire Trooper
FIRE | Warrior | Level 3 | ATK 1000 | DEF 1000
When this card is Summoned, you can send it to the Graveyard to inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
(Common)

Using his effect would be your best option since it'll leave your opponent with less options for which monster you control to attack and it knocks off 1000 of their LPs. Overall, a pretty bad card to use.

Volcanic Counter
FIRE | Pyro | Level 3 | ATK 300 | DEF 1300
When you take Battle Damage while this card is in your Graveyard, remove it from play. Then, if there is a FIRE monster other than "Volcanic Counter" in your Graveyard, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the amount of Battle Damage you took.
(Super Rare)

I suppose there will be that one lucky time where this card can deal your opponent major damage but it doesn't negate the damage done to you, making this card only worthy in a FIRE or Axel's Deck.

If I were UDE, I would've named this card "Cyber Ohwhocares" because his effect and stats are truly horrible. Unless you're running Zane's Season 3 Deck, don't bother with this card.

Cyber Valley
LIGHT | Machine | Level 1 | ATK 0 | DEF 0
You can use 1 of the following 3 effects:
● When this card is selected as an attack target by an opponent's monster, you can remove this card from play to draw 1 card and end the Battle Phase. ● You can remove from play this card and 1 face-up monster you control, and draw 2 cards. ● You can remove from play this card and 1 card from your hand, and place 1 card from your Graveyard on top of your Deck.
(Super Rare)

This card's rarity probably was based off of the effect of the second bullet in his text, which is probably your best option if your opponent's monsters are stronger.

                               Rating: 2 | PTDN-EN009 | Effect Monster
Armored Cybern
WIND | Machine-Type Union | Level 4 | ATK 0 | DEF 2000
Once per turn, you can equip this card to a "Cyber Dragon" you control, or to a Fusion Monster you control that lists "Cyber Dragon" as a Fusion Material Monster, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. Once per turn, while equipped to a monster by this effect, you can decrease the equipped monster's ATK by 1000 and destroy 1 face-up monster. (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)
(Common)

Only play this if, your Cyber Dragon's in Defense Mode because he'll only have 1100 ATK, which is easy prey for even the weakest monsters and it'll cost you damage. If not, it's still a 2000 DEF wall.

You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this card. If this face-up Attack Position card battles with an opponent's monster, inflict damage equal to its ATK to your opponent and destroy that monster at the end of the Damage Step.
(Secret Rare)

Yubel's final and most deadly form. While she can't be brought out other than by her previous form's effect, she too doesn't need anything to stay out and has all of her previous forms' effects!

When this card is destroyed, except by its own effect, you can Special Summon 1 "Yubel - Terror Incarnate" from your hand, Deck or Graveyard.

Am I crazy to give a Level 10 monster with no ATK and DEF a 4 star rating? Well her effects are VERY powerful and thoroughly justify her rarity in this set.

(Common)

For the number of Tributes required, stats of only (0/1500) are horrible. If it was a Level 4 or lower monster, it would've gotten a higher rating. Since this isn't the case, keep this in the "fun Yubel" Deck.

Compared to Treeborn Frog, this card is terrible for even TF has at least SOME ATK and DEF and doesn't deal you damage. Keep this card in a "fun Yubel Deck" only and use TF elsewhere.
