Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 47)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 50: Mark of the Monkey (4)
Power Converter
Anime Equip Spell
During either player's turn, you can send this face-up card to the Graveyard to gain Life Points equal to the equipped monster's ATK. If you do, the equipped monster's ATK becomes 0 until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You can give your LP a quick boost but it's entirely dependent on the equipped monster's ATK, though once you've gained the LP, the affected monster will be weak enough to be destroyed by pretty much any monster, for better or worse.
Dark Matter
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a Dark Synchro Monster you control is destroyed. Draw 2 cards and Set them in Defense Position in your Monster Card Zones.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: It relies entirely on a series of monsters that don't exist and even then, your newly drawn cards become useless Monster Cards.
Episode 48: Mark of the Monkey (2)
Dark Wave
Anime Normal Spell
Multiply by -1 the Level of 1 monster you control.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Since Dark Synchro Monsters don't exist as real cards, this needs an overhaul as well to have a chance at seeing any play.
Dark Tuner Dark Ape
DARK / Beast-Type Dark Tuner / Level 2 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a Dark Synchro Monster. If this card is used for a Synchro Summon and sent to the Graveyard, draw 1 card from your Deck.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Not even Dark Synchro Monsters would be able to save this card's rating as that severely limits its uses and it will need an overhaul to be even remotely worthwhile.
Level Mirroring
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 monster your opponent controls. The Level of 1 monster you control becomes the same as the Level of the selected opponent's monster until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Xyz Summons are now possible since this card appeared in the anime but even then, you'll still need 2 or more monsters to make it work.
Remake Puzzle
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only during your opponent's Battle Phase. Destroy 1 "Morphtronic" monster you control and end the Battle Phase. Then, Special Summon 1 "Morphtronic" monster from your Graveyard whose Level is less than the Level of the monster destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by this effect.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Morphtronics never proved to be that successful in the end, mostly in part to their lackluster effects and stats and this is only proving to be a poorer version of Negate Attack.
Episode 46: Mark of the Spider (2)
Offerings to the Bound Deity
Anime Normal Trap
Pay half of your Life Points. Put 2 Earthbound Immortal Counters on 1 "Altar of the Bound Deity" you control.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: A costly way just to speed up Altar of the Bound Deity's progress to getting your Earthbound Immortal on the field, especially since it doesn't do anything else.
Episode 45: Mark of the Spider (1)
Altar of the Bound Deity
Anime Continuous Trap
During each of your Standby Phases, place 1 Earthbound Immortal Counter on this card for each face-up Defense Position monster. Send this card to the Graveyard when it has 4 or more Earthbound Immortal Counters on it to Special Summon 1 "Earthbound Immortal" monster from your Deck.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: It's too slow to be effective and even though it brings out an Earthbound Immortal monster, you'll need a Field Spell to be on the field or the new monster will self-destruct.
Dark Tuner Spider Cocoon
DARK / Insect-Type Dark Tuner / Level 5 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: As a regular Tuner monster (since we didn't get Dark Synchros), it wouldn't be all that bad and it'd have uses Cyber Dragon does not but it's also not very powerful compared to Cyber Dragon.
Episode 44: Surely, You Jest (2)
Card of Distrain
Anime Normal Spell
Activate only while your opponent controls 2 or more Set cards in their Spell & Trap Card Zone. Select 1 of them. It cannot be activated this turn. This turn, inflict 800 damage to your opponent each time they activate a Set Spell/Trap Card.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It halts one card from being activated and punishes your opponent when they activate others they've Set but is really not much to work with considering the card activations aren't negated and certain monsters like Prime Material Dragon can counter the damage.
Late Penalty
Anime Continuous Trap
If your opponent controls no monsters during their Standby Phase, they cannot conduct their Battle Phase this turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: A low-end 2-star rating as getting a monster out before the Standby Phase isn't always so easy but with cards like Call of the Haunted, this can easily be overcome.
Episode 43: Surely, You Jest (1)
Imperial Manners
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack while you control no monsters. Destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: A rip-off of Mirror Force given the only difference is the effect requires you to control no monsters, making it much riskier to use over other cards released already.
Episode 41: Clash of the Dragons (2)
Synchro Ring
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only during your Battle Phase. Select 1 Synchro Monster you control that attacked an opponent's monster this turn, but did not destroy it by battle. Double its ATK until the End Phase. It can attack once again during the same Battle Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Even if the attack target can't be destroyed in battle at all, your Synchro Monster may still deal extra damage anyway, especially since this doubles that Synchro Monster's ATK.
Doom Petal Countdown
Anime Continuous Trap
During your End Phase, you can remove from play 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard to inflict 300 damage to your opponent. When you remove from play a monster to activate this effect, if there are no Plant-Type monsters in your Graveyard, inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each Plant-Type monster removed by this card's effect. If there are no Plant-Type monsters in your Graveyard, destroy this card.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: You're taking out resources from your Graveyard (that must be Plant-Type monsters I might add) for a mere 300 damage and then, if your Graveyard has no Plant-Type monsters, this self-destructs.
Iron Resolve
Anime Normal Trap
Pay half your Life Points. During this turn, Battle Damage done to you from battle is reduced to 0. Then, end the Battle Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Waboku and Threatening Roar would be the better choices over this considering it costs you nothing to activate it and it'd also save your monster.
Realize Defense
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 face-up Attack Position monster you control with a higher original DEF than its original ATK. Change it to Defense Position.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Stall Decks would be able to make use of this using monsters whose original DEF is higher than its original ATK and this'll change that monster to Defense Position but not much else would have any use for this.
Episode 40: Clash of the Dragons (1)
Closed Plant Gate
Anime Normal Spell
Activate only if you control 2 face-up Plant-Type monsters with the same name. Your opponent cannot declare an attack during their next turn.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: It won't be easy getting 2 Plant-Type monsters with the same name and even if you do, only one of them needs to be destroyed to render this useless.
Episode 39: Digging Deeper (3)
Dimension Reversion
Anime Normal Trap
Return all removed from play monsters to their owner's Deck(s).
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It'd work well against Decks with cards that banish but it'd have less use nowadays because Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure are limited to 1 in tournaments.
Episode 37: Digging Deeper (Continued)
Miracle Stone
Anime Continuous Spell
All "Fortune Fairy" monsters you control gain 1000 ATK for each "Fortune Fairy" monster you control. "Fortune Fairy" monsters you control cannot attack the turn that they are Summoned.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Although it seems powerful, Fortune Fairies are all pitiful monsters that don't do anything on their own so keeping them on the field to make this worthwhile is very unlikely and even then, this'll only benefit you if those monsters are Summoned the turn before this card is used.
Fortune Fairy Hu
WIND / Spellcaster / Level 3 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
Drawing this card means your fortune today is not too bad.
Your lucky number is 3.
Your lucky color is green.
Your lucky item is a plant.
You might find something you lost.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Drawing this card during a duel means your luck has either run out or has gotten worse because there's nothing good about a Normal Monster as weak as this that can't be used for anything useful.
