Episode 50: Mark of the Monkey (4)

At the duel, Leo reminds Devak of PTD's effect and gets what he needs to take down Devak's Zeman the Ape King but while he strategizes, Luna and Torunka watch as Zeman frees Ancient Fairy Dragon from the stone. With that done, Luna and The Collectors bring Regulus out of the cage. However, Torunka trips and reveals that the staff he wields is indeed stolen. Furthermore, they aren't whom they claimed to be as Luna trips as well, unmasking both of them. The Collectors attack but Regulus carries Luna and Torunka away, wanting the staff in order to cancel out the curse put on everyone if it works. He puts the duo in a cage and jams the door, confident they'll be safe but The Collectors aren't so sure.

At the duel, Leo activates Double Tool C&D to give PTD 1000 ATK during his turns, raising its ATK to equal Zeman's. Then, both PTD and Regulus go head to head with their opponent and survive but the real Zeman transfers the curse to Devak, whom is happy to lose his monster as he activates his face down Dark Matter, drawing 2 cards and giving him 2 monsters in Defense Mode. Nevertheless, Leo equips his monster with Power Converter and ends his turn. In the Spirit World, things are fine now as the trio reunite with Torunka back to his old self. Unfortunately, since the curse was transferred to Devak, the curse remains until Devak is defeated. Devak draws and tributes his 2 monsters for Earthbound Immortal Cusillu (2800) in Attack Mode and unlike previous EIs, this one takes spirits from the Spirit World.  Devak notes that it's unaffected by Spell or Trap Cards and his attack prompts Leo to use Power Converter's effect to make PTD's ATK 0 this turn and add that amount to his LPs, raising his score back up to 4000 before dropping to 400.

(The real EIC doesn't have this effect but can be saved from destruction in battle by Tributing 1 of your other monsters.) Leo could use Luna right now. Back in the Spirit World, the trio is lifted into the air as Torunka has enough strength to get Luna back to the real world and Luna must stop Devak or all hope is lost. Luna appears and the duo hug before Luna takes over the duel to make Devak regret what he's done (in Leo's voice). The Signer marks glow as they connect that Luna has returned. Devak activates Cursed Prison to Special Summon Ancient Fairy Dragon (3000) from his Graveyard in Defense Mode, claiming all AFD is a dog that had better obey its master. Luna draws and uses PTD's effect to pick up and play Central Shield (though they don't tell you that that's its name), letting PTD survive destruction in battle regardless of EIC's effects. She sets 2 cards face down to end her turn but Devak is not impressed.

Devak draws and attacks but Luna activates Limiter Removal (which is a Spell Card) to double PTD's ATK to 4000, leaving Devak down to 2100 LPs but Devak tributes AFD to keep EIC on the field and halve Luna's LPs to 200. However, having AFD in the Graveyard was just what Luna wanted as she activates Respect Synchron to Special Summon Ancient Fairy Dragon to her field in Attack Mode. Then she saves PTD from LR's side-effect by sending CS to the Grave. Next, she (and Leo) draw and use AFD's effect to destroy Closed Forest and return EIC's ATK to 2800 but without any effects but also raising their score by 1000 to 1200 (but they don't tell you that and the real EIs are destroyed if no Field Spell is in play). Next she picks up another Equip Spell via PTD's effect and equips PTD with Rocket Pilder and AFD with Pain to Power. PTD attacks but due to RP's first effect, it isn't destroyed and due to the second, EIC loses ATK equal to PTD's, leaving its ATK down to 800 but they still take Battle Damage, leaving them back down to 400. Due to PtP's effect, AFD gains ATK equal to the Battle Damage they just took, raising its ATK by 800 to 2900. Now it's time to chase the shadows away but will it work?
