Episode 39: Digging Deeper (3)

Outside, Jack tries some off-roading with his Duel Runner and succeeds, finding the Arcadia Movement HQ in the process. Inside her house, Akiza still can't tell Misty anything about her missing brother and draws as Misty reminds Akiza of the Savage Colosseum Spell Card (not Trap Card as she says from around 3:31 to 3:36 into the US episode), forcing their monsters to battle. Since Akiza's BRD has no ATK thanks to Reptile/Reptilianne Gorgon, it's destroyed in RG's attack, leaving Akiza down to 2500 LPs and wondering what her mark is telling her. Misty thinks Akiza stole her brother because of what Sayer said but Akiza would tell Misty if she knew something, gaining 300 LPs by SC's effect.

Furthermore, she activates Synchro Spirits to remove from play the BRD in her Grave and bring back Twilight Rose Knight (1000) and Lord Poison (1500) in Attack Mode. Next, she uses Dimension Reversion to return a removed from play monster to her deck and selects BRD. Then she uses Urgent Tuning to use her monsters as Synchro Material during the Battle Phase for Black Rose Dragon (2400) in Attack Mode. Due to BRD's effect, all cards are destroyed but thanks to Field Barrier, Savage Colosseum stays on the field. However, Misty concludes that Akiza was happy to see those around her be scared (and Yusei has revealed this to be true also when he suffered Akiza's wrath) and Akiza is now uneasy.

Meanwhile, Tanner breaks down another door and he and Yanagi find Luna before Tanner smashes the window in front of Leo. When Leo fully comes to, he has to be shown where his sister is before they scramble to get out. Misty continues her rant about her brother's absence and refuses to believe anything Akiza says. Luna stalls, knowing that another duel is taking place and realizing it's Akiza. They find the duel in time to see Misty take her turn by using Reptile Spawn (Reptilianne Spawn in the CG) to remove from play a Reptile-Type monster in her Graveyard to get 2 Reptile Tokens on her field. As she tributes them, Yanagi reveals that Akiza's opponent is not only a Dark Signer but it's Misty. With her tributes, Misty brings out Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua (2800) in Attack Mode. People watch as spirits are absorbed into the summoned monster, which appears on the outside of the building.

In the truck, Greiger is set free by Devac and is ordered to follow. In Sayer's office, Carly brings Sayer's attention back to the duel and Sayer draws, thinking carefully about his next move. He takes his turn by playing Teleport, letting him pay 800 LPs and Special Summon a Psychic-Type monster from his hand since he controls no monsters and Carly does, bringing his score down to 1000 and summoning Storm Caller (2300) in Attack Mode. Next he pays another 800 LPs to use Premature Burial to Special Summon Magical Android (2400) from his Graveyard, bringing his score down to 200. His first attack with SC prompts Carly to activate Slip of Fortune to remove the attacked monster from play and negate the attack. However, she then takes direct damage from MA's attack, leaving her down to 1600 LPs.

Nevertheless, Sayer summons Psychic Commander (1400) in Attack Mode, which gets removed from play by FV's effect but Sayer uses MA's last effect to gain 600 LPs per Psychic-Type monster on his field, raising his score back up to 1400. Carly draws and regains her Fortune Lady Light and Fortune Lady Fire by FV and SoFs' effects before tributing her two Fortune Ladies for Earthbound Immortal Ascilla piscu (2500) in Attack Mode, which appears outside of the building as well. FV's effect still activates to remove EIAp from play but that's what Carly wants as EIAp's effect will activate to destroy all of Sayer's monsters and deal Sayer 800 damage for each one. With that, Sayer loses and plummets into the purple abyss but the building is coming down and Misty's duel with Akiza is cut short. The EIs disappear and Tanner's group makes it out to explain things to Jack. Despite the danger, Jack races up the stairs on his Duel Runner and finds Akiza on the floor and attempts to taker out as the building crumbles further. Elsewhere, Carly comes to and panics over her changes when Misty arrive and comforts her, saying that she'll understand in time but needs to find out what her unfinished business is and how that benefits the Dark Signers.
