Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 56)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 101: The Edge of Elimination (2)
Flattery
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster's ATK changes during the Battle Phase. Select 1 face-up monster you control. It gains ATK equal to the difference of the previous ATK and the new ATK of your opponent's monster, until the end of the Battle Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Unless the ATK boost is high and/or your monster's ATK is close to your opponent's monster, this isn't really going to help you much.
Regretful Tuning
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when you take Battle Damage from a direct attack. Select and Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster from your Graveyard. If that monster attacks, destroy it at the end of the Battle Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: You first have to take a direct attack and then your revived Synchro Monster is wired to self-destruct if it ever attacks during the Battle Phase.
Episode 100: The Edge of Elimination (1)
Magic Charge
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a Spell Card you control is destroyed by the effect of an opponent's card effect. Both players take 2000 damage.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: It proved to be so bad it cost Andre his duel with Yusei and was only done so to leave Yusei at less LP than his next opponent, which is a pretty poor strategy. Plus, meeting the conditions for this is harder than it appears.
Episode 99: Trouble for Team 5Ds
Dimension Equilibrium
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only if a monster you control is destroyed by battle. End the Battle Phase. Then, Special Summon the monster that was destroyed by battle from the Graveyard, and remove from play the monster that destroyed it by battle.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: Whether it's your only monster or one of your multiple monsters, this'd come in quite handy to stop all your opponent's future attacks that turn, punish the offending monster that triggered this and get your monster back.
Episode 98: Power Plays
Overpower
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a monster you control is targeted by a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's effect that negates a monster's attack. Negate the activation of that card, and destroy it.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Several cards that negate attacks are released and generally do target but this isn't going to do anything against cards like Mirror Force that do neither.
Dimension Trap
Anime Normal Trap
Remove from play 1 monster you control and 1 Trap Card in your Graveyard. The effect of this card becomes the same as that Trap Card.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Copying Trap effects isn't a bad idea but this requires too much for it be useful.
Rage Resynchro
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 Synchro Monster in your Graveyard. Send the appropriate Synchro Material Monsters you control listed on that card to the Graveyard, whose total Levels equal that monster's Level, and Special Summon that monster. It gains 500 ATK. Destroy it during the next turn's End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Just use an effect that revives monsters to revive the Synchro Monster and if it can't be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, then this'd be no use anyway.
Different Dimension Barrier - Lost Force
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. If a monster was removed from your side of the field this turn, except by being destroyed by battle, negate the attack. Then, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the monster that attacked.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Too situational to be useful, especially considering Magic Cylinder doesn't even need you to control a monster.
Episode 97: Natural Instincts (2)
Shield Coat
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster is Summoned whose ATK is greater than the DEF of a monster you control. Double the DEF of all face-up Defense Position monsters you control. Destroy this card during your 2nd Standby Phase after activation.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Somewhat situational but these days it's becoming more and more likely that the opponent will Summon a monster with more ATK than your monster's DEF.
Beast Burial Ritual
Anime Normal Trap
Destroy 1 Beast-Type monster you control and send it to the Graveyard. Draw 2 cards. Cards drawn by this effect cannot be used this turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: The name would have you believe it's a Ritual Spell as 99% of cards with Ritual in their names are Ritual Spells but this one isn't, which doesn't help it much. Andre was able to make use of this to bring out Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest but ended up wasting a Nimble Momonga to do it.
Chain Arrow
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 face-up monster on the field. This turn, if that monster battles with another monster, it gains 500 ATK during damage calculation only. Also, if that monster destroys a monster by battle, select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. It loses 1000 ATK until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: The boost and loss could both be enough to help your monsters succeed but you'll need more than that to actually succeed given the three main types of cards that exist.
Episode 95: Keeping a Promise (2)
Synchro Rivalry
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when your opponent Summons a Synchro Monster. Monsters cannot be destroyed by battle this turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Synchro Summon was certainly common back when this debuted in the anime but with other methods being released since then, this would see less play and is more situaitonal than even Waboku, which only affects your monsters.
White Warrior - Sleet the Morning Star
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 1 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
You can Tribute this card to select 1 face-up monster you control and have it gain the following effect: • If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of this card's ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This can be pretty powerful with the strongest monsters but it's not a Tuner monster and only deals half the affected monster's ATK.
Down Burst
Anime Normal Trap
Set all face-up Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This can be beneficial if your opponent's Deck is Trap-heavy but some Spell Cards can be activated during your opponent's turn anyway.
White Warrior - Snow the Rope Dart
LIGHT / Fairy-Type Tuner / Level 4 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
This card can attack your opponent directly. This card gains 100 ATK for each card on the field. When this card is selected as an attack target, return it to the hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's a searchable Level 4 Tuner monster but that's about all it's really good for.
Episode 94: Keeping a Promise (1)
Sacred Arrow
Anime Continuous Trap
During each player's End Phase, each player takes 400 damage for each of their monsters that were destroyed and sent to the Graveyard this turn.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: If your monsters are destroyed as well as your opponent's then you're not really gaining much if any advantage over them now are you? Plus if you do manage to just destroy your opponent's monsters, then you're not likely to deal much damage.
White Warrior - Hail the Iron Hammer
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 1800 / DEF 1600
If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, select 1 monster on the field and destroy it.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: The effect is manditory so it may cost you one of your own monsters but that also means it can't miss the timing so you can take out an opponent's monster with ease.
Whiteout
Anime Continuous Trap
Negate the effects of monsters your opponent controls that target a card(s) in their hand, their Graveyard, or their side of the field.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: I can see this getting a watering down upon release because it's so one-sided, though only affects the opponent's ability to target cards.
White Warrior - Fog the Treasure Shield
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 300 / DEF 2000
If this card is in face-up Defense Position when a monster you control inflicts damage to your opponent by a direct attack, you can select 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field, and destroy it.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It won't destroy much most of the time but this guy does have 2000 DEF and should your opponent take a direct attack to their LP, they'll lose a Spell/Trap Card too.
Episode 93: The Question of the Card (Continued)
Space Jump
Anime Counter Trap
Activate only during your Battle Phase, when a monster you control would be destroyed or removed from play by an opponent's card effect. Remove from play that monster and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You're going to lose the monster anyway and may get to deal some damage to your opponent but then it's off the field, leaving you one less monster to attack or defend.
