| Episode 95: Keeping a Promise (2) | |||
|
At the duel, Crow has a Trap Card to stop Whiteout's effect from preventing his
Blackwings' effects so he sets 1 card and plays Blackwing
- Mistral the Silver Shield (1800) in Defense Mode for his turn. Bolton
draws and summons White Warrior - Snow the Rope Dart
(0000) in Attack Mode. Due to Rope Dart's effect, it gets 100 ATK per card on
the field, raising its ATK to 700. Rope Dart can also attack directly and does
so to leave Crow down to 2400 LPs. Since a White Warrior dealt Battle Damage,
Bolton uses Fog the Treasure Shield's effect to destroy Crow's set card (which
could've been activated by the way). With that done, Bolton ends his turn so Crow draws and summons Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame (1800) in Attack Mode and uses it and Mistral (which is a Tuner) as Synchro Material for Blackwing Armor Master (rather Blackwing Armed Wing) (2300) in Attack Mode.Crow uses Armed Wing's attack on Rope Dart but Bolton uses Rope Dart's effect to return itself to the hand so Crow makes Fog the Treasure Shield the attack target, which not only gives Armed Wing 500 ATK to 2800 by its first effect but manages to take out Treasure Shield and leave Bolton down to 3200 LPs by its other effect. Furthermore, Bolton takes 400 damage since his monster was destroyed, leaving him down to 2800 LPs. Bolton draws and re-summons Snow the Rope Dart, then (since Snow the Rope Dart is a Tuner) uses it and Hail the Iron Hammer as Synchro Material for Crimson Mefist (Blood Mefist in the CG) (2800) in Attack Mode. Crow then realizes that Bolton was the reason Robert Pearson disappeared and that was so Bolton could manufacture Duel Runners himself. Bolton explains the events that led up to the duel where Pearson disappeared. When Crow refuses to give up the Black-Winged Dragon card, Bolton resumes the duel by using CM/BM's effect to deal Crow 300 damage for each card on his field, leaving Crow down to 1800 LPs. Next, he takes out Armed Wing with its attack, leaving Crow barely stable and down to 1300 LPs as Jack and Yusei realize the damage is real. To end his turn, Bolton activates SA's effect, leaving Crow down by 400 to 900. Crow is in it to the very end and draws before playing Speed World 2's effect to drain his 7 Speed Counters and draw 1 card. Next he plays Blackwing - Kochi the Daybreak (1500) in Defense Mode, then sets 1 card before Bolton uses CM's other effect to deal Crow 300 damage since he set a Spell or Trap Card, leaving him down to 600 LPs and his Duel Runner losing a piece off the back. Bolton draws and uses CM's effect to deal Crow 900 damage but Crow counters with Down Burst to Set all of Bolton's face-up Spell or Trap Cards. Then he uses Delta Crow - Anti Reverse to destroy all of Bolton's face down Spell and Trap Cards since he himself has a Blackwing out, leaving his field 2 cards lighter and bringing his score down to 300. Nevertheless, Bolton summons White Warrior - Sleet the Morning Star (0000) in Attack Mode. Then he Tributes Sleet the Morning Star to allow CM to deal half the ATK of the destroyed monster after it attacks. After that, he attacks with CM but Crow uses Blackwing - Jet Stream the Blue Sky's effect to discard it and prevent Kochi's destruction in battle. Bolton sets a card to end his turn and Crow knows he needs a way to defeat Crimson Mefist but he has a cheering section in the control tower. The Signer marks glow and the Black-Winged Dragon card appears as Crow realizes that the card was given to him to protect the kids. He draws and plays Blackwing - Bora the Spear (1700) in Attack Mode and uses it and Kochi (which is a Tuner) as Synchro Material for Black-Winged Dragon (2800) in Attack Mode. Regardless, Bolton activates Synchro Rivalry to prevent his monsters' destruction in battle since Crow Synchro Summoned. Crow continues his turn with Angel Baton (rather Speed Spell - Angel Baton) to draw 2 cards, then discard 1 since he has at least 2 Speed Counters. Now he sets 1 card and triggers CM's effect but BWD negates the damage by lowering its ATK by that amount. (The real card must lose 700 ATK regardless of how much damage it is but it does negate the damage.) Furthermore, he uses Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite's effect to return 1 card on his field to his hand and take 400 damage to Special Summon it (1600) in Attack Mode. This initiates a loop whereby BWD gets weaker and Zephyros is brought back, then destroyed when Crow Sets a Spell or Trap. (The real card isn't destroyed by any part of its effect but it can only use the effect to revive itself once per Duel.) Crow sees right through Bolton's protest in that Pearson didn't take the offer because it would've meant the kids had no future. Once BWD's wings are all glowing red and black, Crow uses its other effect to restore its ATK and drain CM's ATK, leaving it up to 2800 and CM down to 0. His attack destroys CM to win the duel. Bolton apologizes to Pearson and agrees to change things from here on and that's what Crow is hoping to happen. They arrive where Pearson disappeared and Crow vows to have Black-Winged Dragon waiting for Pearson when he returns from the Netherworld. |
