| Episode 99: Trouble for Team 5Ds | |||
|
At the duel, Jack takes a nasty fall and Yusei runs to his aid but is reminded
of the rules whereby the team will be disqualified if one team member touches
another during a duel. Jack struggles to get up and not only does but struggles
to make his way to the starting line before he and his team are disqualified.
The trio of Jack fans realize Jack is hurt and rush to get to him, ignoring
personnel telling them otherwise. Back at the track, Akiza gets ready to take
part in the duel while their team's Speed Counters are dropping with each lap
Andre completes and once it hits 0, they're disqualified. Akiza gets nervous but Yusei points out that her parents are there and she recalls the conversation she had with them earlier. With just one lap to go before Team Unicorn wins, Jack makes it across and hands over the badge to Akiza, whom manages to turn the corner first and keep her team in it. While the Jack fangirls attend to Jack, Akiza draws and summons Phoenixian Seed (800) in Attack Mode. Next she tributes it to play Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis (2200) in Attack Mode. Her attack not only destroys Andre's (D.D.) Unicorn Knight to leave Andre down to 2300 but destroys itself and inflicts 800 damage to Andre to bring him down to 1500 by its other effects. Furthermore, she sets 1 card, then removes PS in her Graveyard from play to Special Summon PCA in Defense Mode by its last effect. Although Team Unicorn is impressed, Andre isn't going to fall for Akiza's plan and draws before playing Speed Spell - Dash Pilfer to gain control of Akiza's Defense Position PCA. Next he summons Unibird (100) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to remove both monsters from play to Special Summon Thunder Unicorn (2200) in Attack Mode since its Level is lower than PCA's. Then he attacks directly with TU to leave Akiza down to 1800 LPs. Finally. he sets a card to end his turn. Luna isn't so sure that Akiza can turn things around but Yusei hints at a secret plan they assembled before Akiza took off. Akiza doesn't have the same confidence that Yusei does regarding the duel but draws and summons Witch of the Black Forest (rather Witch of the Black Rose) (1700) in Attack Mode and uses its effect. Her result gets her Rose Fairy, which she Special Summons by its effect (600) in Attack Mode. Then she uses Speed Spell - Angel Baton to draw 2 cards and discard 1 (Glow-Up Bulb) since she has at least 2 Speed Counters. Then she uses her monsters as Synchro Material (since WotBR is a Tuner but they don't tell you that) for Black Rose Dragon (2400) in Attack Mode. After that, she activates Star Siphon to Special Summon a token (0000) in Attack Mode and swap its Level with BRD, making it Level 7 and BRD Level 1. Oops! At 15:50 into the US episode, Star Siphon is in the Monster Card Zone of Akiza's Duel Disk instead of Black Rose Dragon! Now she uses Glow-Up Bulb's effect from the Graveyard to send the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to Special Summon itself (100) in Attack Mode. Since GUB is a Tuner (which they also don't tell you), she uses it and the token as Synchro Material for Stardust Dragon (2500) in Attack Mode to everyone's shock. Her first attack with BRD takes out TU to leave Andre down to 2300 but her 2nd prompts Andre to activate Dimension Equilibrium to remove from play the monster that destroyed one of his monsters, then bring back the destroyed monster, removing BRD from play and Special Summoning Thunder Unicorn in Attack Mode. Unable to attack anymore by DE's effect, Akiza sets 2 cards to end her turn and Jean knows Yusei is still a threat even when he's not on the field. Jean warns not to hold back anymore so Andre draws and uses Speed Spell - Speed Energy to multiply his 12 Speed Counters by 200 times and add it to TU, raising TU's ATK by 2400 to 4600. His attack forces Akiza to activate Half Counter to add half of TU's ATK to SD, raising is ATK by 1100 to 3600 but still destroying it and leaving her down to 800 LPs. Andre proceeds to use Speed World 2's effect to remove 4 Speed Counters and deal Akiza 800 damage per Speed Spell but Akiza uses Wicked Rebirth to pay the rest of her LPs to revive Stardust Dragon in Attack Mode without its effects. (In the CG, you can't activate a card if the activation cost ends up requiring you to pay all or more than your remaining Life Points.) Yusei takes up for his spot in the duel as well as the cards Akiza had out when she lost and thanks to her sacrifice, Team 5Ds won't lose. However, Akiza is crying until she hears the crowd clapping. Now Yusei's up and he has to take down all three of Team Unicorn's members. Can he do it? |
