Episode 94: Keeping a Promise (1)
As a ship passes by, Crow remembers 3 years earlier when his friend Pearson disappeared and how the investigation only found a message requesting to  keep his Duel Runner working and the kids safe. It's what Crow plans to do and after a false start, he gets his Duel Runner going. Back at their hideout, Bruno struggles to diagnose the problem with Crow's Duel Runner. Crow comes in, upset that they're once again working on his Duel Runner but Bruno explains that none of the other Duel Runners have a glitch that cannot be solved. It only gets worse when Yusei requests machinery that would easily destroy the Duel Runner when Trudge and Mina come in to bring Crow outside to talk. They explain  that they're here to discuss Robert Pearson disappearing.

Their recent find indicates that Pearson was dueling an opponent using a card they show Crow named Crimson Mefist (Blood Mefist in the CG) but Crow has never heard of the card, let alone have any clue to its owner. Mina adds that the card is one of several prototypes capable of dealing real damage to duelists and sending them to the Netherworld, making Crow angry. All they need to do now is find the owner so they take Jack's Duel Runner while Jack is enjoying coffee. Crow finds himself at Bolton's Building of Bargains where Duel Runners are test driven and sold. In a limo, Bolton recalls being declined in taking a valuable card as the owner wants Black-Winged Dragon as part of the trade.
The guards throw Crow out but Bolton arrives to let Crow up to his office, where Crow becomes too excited at all the awards to take a seat. When Crow shows Bolton the card, Bolton freezes in fear but tells Crow to drop the subject as it won't change what already happened but Crow refuses as they now have a lead on his disappearance. Bolton requests a duel for the information as he needs the Black-Winged Dragon as payment for a loan. Plus he already picked the test course as their place to duel. Outside, Crow recalls a time when he was younger and Pearson was involved in a duel with punks mistreating their father. Pearson used his Shadow Dance and Black-Winged Dragon cards to win the duel.
Bolton has done better at keeping the shop a live than Crow has but Crow took great care of the kids. After the final touches on Crow's Duel Runner are done, the group head to the test track for the duel. Duel preparations get underway before both Crow and Bolton show how much power their Duel Runners have. Since Bolton took the first turn, he draws and summons White Warrior - Fog the Treasure Shield (2000) in Defense Mode before setting 2 cards to end his turn. Crow draws and plays Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn (2000) in Attack Mode without Tribute since Bolton has a monster and Crow doesn't. Next, Crow Special Summons Blackwing - Bora the Spear (1700) in Attack Mode as he controls a Blackwing monster. Then he uses BStD's effect to power up BBtS by 2000 to 3700.
However, Bolton uses Whiteout to negate the effects of Crow's monsters that affect other cards on his field, returning Bora to 1700 ATK. With nothing left to do, Crow ends his turn so Bolton draws and plays White Warrior - Hail the Iron Hammer (1800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Sacred Arrow to deal 400 damage to both players for each monster destroyed this turn.  His attack takes out Bora the Spear to leave Crow down to 3900 LPs, then destroys Sirocco the Dawn by its effect since it destroyed a monster in battle. Due to SA's effect, Crow takes 800 damage, leaving him down to 3100 LPs. Crow better make his next move count if he wants to know what happened to Pearson!
