Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 76)
*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 88: Dual Duel (2)
Damaging Hand Anime Normal Trap Activate only when a player draws a card(s) while they control no monsters. Inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It's pretty situational but given the activation requirements, it'll make your opponent's situation a bit more desperate. |
Desperate Guard Anime Normal Trap Activate only when a player would take damage from a card effect and you control no monsters. Pay half your Life Points and make the damage 0. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | The name says it all because it literally is a desperate attempt to guard your, or in the case of the Duel that used this card, Ray Shadows' LPs. |
Hand Vice Anime Normal Trap Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack and you control a "Hand" monster. Negate the attack and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Unlike Magic Cylinder, this card requires you to control a Hand monster to achive the same effect but Magic Cylinder is still the better card, even if the Hand monsters we have aren't all that bad. |
Shining Bridge Anime Normal Spell Select 1 "Shining" monster you control with 1000 or less ATK. This turn, it can attack your opponent directly. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | I'd rather use Shooting Star Bow - Ceal as that works on any monster and will likely still have the equipped monster deal more damage than this. |
Shining Rabbit LIGHT / Beast / Level 2 / ATK 800 / DEF 400 When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent, destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A monster this weak has little-to-no chance of inflicting battle damage to the opponent and even then, it's no reason to celebrate. You could deal more without this weakling. |
Erosion Hand Forest Anime Field Spell During each of your Standby Phases, both players take 1000 damage. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A Field Spell that costs its owner and their opponent damaage each turn is not worth using. |
Shining Stunt Anime Normal Trap Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack and end the Battle Phase. Then, you damage equal to half the ATK of that monster. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | No good in negating the attack if you're going to take half that monster's ATK anyway. |
Shining Sly LIGHT / Spellcaster / Level 3 / ATK 1200 / DEF 800 While an Xyz Monster is face-up on the field, this card cannot be selected as an attack target. During either player's turn, when a player would take damage by a card effect, you can Tribute 1 monster that is controlled by the player who would take that damage to reduce the damage to 0. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Neither effect is useful and its stats are poor. Of course, we know Ray Shadows was Vector in disguise and he was a poor duelist, likely on purpose. |
Episode 87: Dual Duel | |
Hand Block Anime Normal Trap Activate only when you would take damage from a card effect while you control a "Hand" monster. That damage becomes 0. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | The Hand monsters we have aren't all that bad but we don't really have enough of them to make this that worthwhile. |
Shining Destroyer LIGHT / Fiend / Level 3 / ATK 0 / DEF 1800 When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, inflict 600 damage to both players. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | While the effect is pretty bad, it's not bad enough to give it a lower rating, especially since it won't be activated all tjhe time. Plus it does have 1800 DEF, which lowers its chances of destruction in battle just a bit. |
Episode 86: Counter Offensive (2)
Last Chance Anime Counter Trap Activate only when your opponent activates a Counter Trap Card. Select 1 Counter Trap Card in your opponent's Graveyard and activate it as your Trap Card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It only works against a certain type of Trap Card but you get to use it as though you activated it yourself. |
Corkscrew Counter Anime Counter Trap Activate only when your opponent activates a card or effect during the Battle Phase. Negate the activation of that card's effect and destroy it, then inflict 500 damage to your opponent. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | This works against any card effect used during the Battle Phase and while the damage is minimal, it may be enough to win you the Duel. |
Overtraining Anime Normal Trap Select 1 monster you control. It cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects this turn. During your next End Phase, destroy it and send it to the Graveyard. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Not only does it protect your onster from destruction for a turn but the side-effect is slow enough that you can have it gone before you lose it. Still, it's a pretty mediocre card. |
Xyz Stand Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only when an Xyz Monster under your control is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard this turn. Special Summon that monster from your Graveyard. Its effects are negated and it cannot declare an attack this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | You probably won't be able to use that monster's effects anyway and since ours aren't pre-packaged with the anime effect that prevents their destruction in battle from non-Number Xyz Monsters, this won't be much of a setback. |
Episode 85: Counter Offensive
Counter Clash Anime Counter Trap Activate only when your opponent activates a Counter Trap Card during the Battle Phase. Negate the activation of that Trap Card and destroy it. The battle damage to both players from the battle that this card was activated in is doubled. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | The risky part comes with the doubled battle damage because even if you stop the Counter Trap this responds to, you may still lose. |
Overlay Flash Quick-Play Spell Select 1 face-up Xyz Monster you control that has Xyz Material, then detach 1 Xyz Material from it. Negate the effects of 1 monster your opponent controls. When that Xyz Monster is removed from the field, this effect is no longer applied. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Most Xyz Monsters require detaching of Xyz Materials and you could be taking the last one they have left but it's not all that bad since it also negates the effects of the affected Xyz Monster. |
Brain Reboot Anime Normal Spell Activate only when you have 1000 or less Life Points. Return all monsters your opponent controls to the hand, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to the combined Levels of the monsters returned to their hand by this effect x 500. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Risky to play given the activation requirements but it can help turn the tide if you can manage to return a good number of monsters to the hand. |
Lightning Clinch Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Pay 3000 Life Points. This turn, negate all attacks from monsters your opponent controls. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | You're just making it easier for your opponent to clinch their victory from you because 3000 LP is nearly half your starting LP and that means your opponent's monsters just need to have 5000 ATK in total to take you out. Plus, cards like Negate Attack have this card's effect for free. |
Episode 84: Playing Defense (Continued)
Sharkify Anime Equip Spell The equipped monster is also treated as a "Shark" monster and gains 400 ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Regardless of whether you go with the Japanese anime's card lore or the duelist's explanation of the card lore, you still get a poor choice for your Deck. |
Tri-Slice Anime Normal Spell Tribute 1 Level 6, Level 9, or Level 12 Fish-Type monster. Special Summon 3 WATER monsters from your Deck, depending on the Level of the Tributed monster. ● Level 12: Level 4 monsters. ● Level 9: Level 3 monsters. ● Level 6: Level 2 monsters. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It's a lot to risk when you get rid of a high-level monster for the chance at bringing out three low-level monsters. I don't think there's that many monsters that meet either this card's activation requirements or even some of its bulleted effects. |
