Episode 88: Dual Duel (2)
At the duel, Astral has awakened and must retreat to the key but has confidence that Yuma will win. As a result, Yuma takes off his key and hands it to Tori to watch over and Yuma assures he'll keep Ray safe too but Girag doesn't believe anything Yuma says. Ray is confident he can take care of himself and draws before playing Shining Sly (1200) in Attack Mode. Due to SS' effect, while Girag has an Xyz Monster he cannot target SS for an attack. With that, Ray sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma draws and summons Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode. His attack with Utopia causes Utopia to be destroyed as its effect was negated by Giant Hand and thus Yuma now takes damage equal to Utopia's ATK.
Ray is ready and uses SS' other effect to tribute Yuma's GG and reduce the Effect Damage to 0 but Girag uses Number 106: Giant Hand's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate SS' effects. Worse still, that means Yuma still takes his destroyed Utopia's ATK as damage, bringing him down to 900 LPs. Yuma isn't discouraged though and plays Swords of Burning Light to prevent all attacks while he controls no monsters himself. Girag draws and activates Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to use Number 106 as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 106: Giant Red Hand (Number C106: Giant Red Hand in the CG) (2600) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Giant Red Hand's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate the effects of all other face-up cards on the field. (The real card can only do this when an Effect Monster effect is activated.)
Girag attacks Yuma directly but Ray activates Shining Stunt to take half of GRH's ATK as damage and negate the attack, bringing him down to 100 LPs. Worse still, Girag sets 2 cards, then activates Erosion Hand Forest to deal all players 1000 damage during each of his own turns. Since Girag's turn is over (though it's not stated), Ray draws and plays Shining Rabbit (800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Shining Bridge to let Shining Rabbit attack directly, then destroy EHF but Girag is ready and activates Hand Vice to negate the attack, end the Battle Phase and deal Ray damage equal to SR's ATK. However, Yuma activates Desperate Guard to halve his LPs and make Ray take no Effect Damage, bringing him down to 450 LPs. Yuma isn't about not protecting someone in a duel. Yuma draws and Girag is ready with Damaging Hand to deal Yuma 300 damage per card in his hand since he controls no monsters.
However, Ray is ready again and activates Shining Reborn to Tribute his 2 Shining monsters and send all cards in Yuma's hand to the Graveyard. Furthermore, due to SR's effect, Ray Special Summons Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode from Yuma's Graveyard. As a bonus, Shining Reborn gives a card to Yuma and he gives Yuma Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force but Yuma doesn't feel confident in using a Barian card to win. In spite of his doubts, Yuma activates Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force to use Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray V (Number C39: Utopia Ray V in the CG) (2600) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Utopia Ray V's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, destroy GRH and deal its ATK as damage to Girag, bringing Girag down by 2600 to 1400. His direct attack wipes out Girag's remaining LPs to win the duel.
While Girag gets no answers before he departs, Yuma learns that Ray is a Barian but is told to keep it a secret. That night, with Yuma reunited with his key, Ray explains the two sides of Barian World before requesting Yuma to work with him on the mission. Yuma is excited and wants to tell Astal but Ray says not to or Astral would be in even greater danger. Now working together, Yuma jumps for joy and may end up falling off his roof!
