Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 15)
*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 216: The Dark One Cometh (2)
Disgraced Mage DARK / Zombie / Level 4 / ATK 1700 / DEF 1400 If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, shuffle that monster into the Deck instead of sending it to the Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle and you would take Battle Damage, you can shuffle this card and all the cards in your hand into the Deck instead. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Shuffling the monster into the Deck is just delaying the inevitable, plus it means your opponent has an extra monster to draw later on, not to mention the other effect is pretty bad too. |
Spirit Sword of Sealing Anime Normal Spell Select and remove from play 1 monster on the field, with its effect(s) negated. After activation, this card remains face-up on the field. The removed monster cannot be Special Summoned by card effects. This card cannot be destroyed except by this card's effect. If a monster(s) belonging to the removed monster's owner is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, return the removed monster to its owner's side of the field and destroy this card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Provided you can keep the monster's owner from having their monsters destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, this isn't too bad, though why you'd want to remove your own monster is beyond me, even if Yugi did so when this card was first played. |
Episode 215: The Dark One Cometh (1)
Turn Jump Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only during the Battle Phase. Each player must pass their next three turns. (Players cannot conduct their normal draw during their Draw Phases.) Resume the Battle Phase after 6 turns. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | If it works out to your advantage, this isn't bad and some cards do use Turn Count but some cards this worked on in the anime like Silent Swordsman won't work with this here unless this card's effect is changed. |
Negate Defense Anime Normal Spell Select 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls, and change it to face-up Attack Position. That monster's battle position cannot be changed, except by a card effect. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | Though it may be better to get rid of the threat with Shield Crush, this can force it to Attack Position without triggering a possible effect. |
Episode 200: Spiritual Awakening
Mirror Tablet Anime Normal Trap Activate only during the turn an opponent's monster destroyed a monster you controlled by battle. Select 1 face-up monster you control. It gains ATK equal to half the original ATK of one of your opponent's monsters that destroyed a monster you controlled by battle. Those monsters must battle this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Pretty situational but the stronger the opponent's monster, the more ATK your monster gains and thus may be at an advantage during the required battle. |
Rebirth Tablet Anime Normal Trap Activate only when a monster you control is destroyed by battle. Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It's already outclassed by Call of the Haunted, even though Call forces the monster to be in Attack Mode but in most cases, that's what you want anyway. |
Grief Tablet Anime Equip Spell The equipped monster cannot attack or change its battle position (except by card effects), and its effect(s) is negated. When this equipped card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, inflict 500 damage to the controller of the equipped monster. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Perhaps a step better than Fiendish Chain as it's an Equip Spell and deals a little burn damage when destroyed. |
Spirit Shield Anime Continuous Trap When an opponent's monster declares an attack, you can remove from play 1 Fiend-Type or Zombie-Type monster from your Graveyard to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase. If there are no Fiend or Zombie-Type monsters in your Graveyard, destroy this card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It'd have uses in the obvious two Decks and is somewhat better than Negate Attack but then Negate Attack doesn't self-destruct if you don't have any monsters in your Graveyard, nor does it ask for a specifc type to be there. |
Spirit Illusion Anime Equip Spell After activation, Special Summon 1 "Doppelganger Token" with the same ATK, DEF, Level, Attribute, and Type as the equipped monster. This Token gains the same effects as the equipped monster. If this card is removed from the field, destroy the "Doppelganger Token". COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | You can do what you will with the new token but if this card goes, so does the token. |
Diabound Kernel DARK / Fiend / Level 5 / ATK 1800 / DEF 1200 Once per turn, you can equip this card to a face-up monster your opponent controls, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card. The equipped monster loses ATK equal to this card's original ATK. If the equipped monster is destroyed by battle, Special Summon this card. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, it also gains that monster's effect(s). COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Generally you'd only use its effect if you were to destroy that monster with another of your monsters but even then, you'll lose this guy and this guy's stats aren't much for a Level 5 monster. |
The
Duke of Demise DARK / Fiend-Type Fusion / Level 6 / ATK 2000 / DEF 1700 "The Earl of Demise" + "Headless Knight" This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. During each of your Standby Phases, pay 500 Life Points or destroy this card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Wasted effort because all you get is a monster that can't be destroyed in battle and several monsters in the game have this ability for less effort and no maintenance cost. |
Episode 198: Sinister Secrets (3)
Hexe Trude FIRE / Spellcaster / Level 7 / ATK 2600 / DEF 2100 If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, it gains 400 ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Literally no better than Emes the Infinity because while that monster is slightly weaker it gains more ATK than this but this card has slightly higher DEF. |
Time Travel Anime Normal Spell Select 1 monster you control and remove it from play until your opponent's next Standby Phase. While that monster is removed from play, its Monster Card Zone cannot be used. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Yami managed to save himself with this but it also still put him in danger and you won't have his perils to deal with and thus don't need to waste Deck space with this. |
Royal Straight Slasher LIGHT / Warrior / Level 6 / ATK 2400 / DEF 1350 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Royal Straight". You can send 1 monster each of Levels 1 through 5 from your Deck to the Graveyard to destroy all cards your opponent controls. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Now you know why I've rated this card so low. At least you can use the effect during each of your turns, though I doubt you'll get more than two turns out of it. |
Royal Straight Anime Normal Spell Tribute 1 "Queen's Knight", "King's Knight", and "Jack's Knight". Special Summon 1 "Royal Straight Slasher" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Since you won't be able to Special Summon Royal Straight Slasher by other means, this helps a bit, especially since King Knight's effect can help you meet this card's requirements but it's not great overall because Royal Straight Slasher's effect is pretty pricey. |
Dark Magic Retribution Anime Normal Trap Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Select 1 Spellcaster-Type monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon it. Destroy it during the End Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Literally nothing more than a minimal stall card because that monster doesn't stick around that long. |
Episode 197: Sinister Secrets (2)
Golden Castle of Stromberg Anime Field Spell During each of your Standby Phases, send half the cards in your Deck to the Graveyard. If you cannot, destroy this card. ● Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, Special Summon 1 random Level 4 or lower monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position. ● You cannot Normal Summon monsters. ● All monsters Special Summoned by this card's effect and all monsters your opponent controls must attack, if able. ● When an opponent's monster declares an attack, destroy that monster, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of that monster's ATK. ● This card cannot be destroyed by the effects of other Spells, Traps, or Effect Monsters. ● Your opponent must pay this card's maintenance cost. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Although we don't know the original text this card had as Zigfried von Schroeder modified it for his own selfish goals, we do have the effects of the current version. While pretty powerful, it's not as one-sided as it may seem because you're prevented from Normal Summoning and are forced to Special Summon each turn and attack with that monster if possible. Plus there's no getting rid of it since it can't be destroyed by other card effects. |
Water of Life Anime Normal Spell Select 1 monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Somewhat versatile but not as versatile as Monster Reborn and thus 2 out 5. |
Spinning Wheel Spindle Anime Normal Spell Destroy 1 monster your opponent controls. After 3 of your turns have passed since this card was activated, Special Summon that monster to your opponent's side of the field. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | You may get some attacks in but that monster isn't gone for good and you may trigger the effect of that monster. |
Iron Cage Anime Continuous Spell Select 1 monster on the field, and destroy it. During your next Standby Phase, Special Summon that monster to its owner's side of the field, and destroy this card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Even if there are monsters that would benefit from this card's effect, it's still pretty bad, especially since your opponent will get their monster back if you use it on their monster. |
