Episode 215: The Dark One Cometh (1)

At the site of the pending duel, it all comes down to one duel where Yugi and crew are free to go if Yugi wins but they'll go to the Shadow Realm if he loses. Yugi doesn't have a deck or Duel Disk yet but both appear before his eyes. As they prepare to duel, ancient Egypt prepares for Zorc's arrival and dodge crumbling buildings. Egypt Bakura announces that Zorc is here and is worse than his Diabound, which disappears with him and a pinkish-red glow appears that Dark Bakura and Yami see from the RPG table. Zorc appears and they know only the chosen one can stop him. Zorc explains that 5000 years ago, he created the Shadow Realm and attacks but Hasan intercepts, ordering everyone else to go while they still can, though Shimon knows that even Hasan isn't enough and Zorc adds more power and sends Hasan to the ground in defeat.

Back at the duel, Yugi draws and sets 1 card before setting a monster to end his turn, leading DB to conclude that he's already won if that's Yugi's best and summons Doomcaliber Knight (1900) in Attack Mode. (The real card is an Effect Monster that forces its controller to tribute it in response to the first Effect Monster effect activated.) His attack reveals Yugi's Marshmallon (500) in Defense Mode, leaving DB to take 1000 damage by its first effect, bringing his score down to 3000 but not destroying it thanks to Marshmallon's other effect so DB sets 1 card to end his turn. In Egypt, Isis uses her Spiria to see Zorc is nearing the kingdom and they have to protect the people at all costs. Back to the site where Kisara and Seto are, Yami tries to reason with Kaiba but to no avail and walks away. Kaiba gives a brief glance at the motionless Kisara, recalling what she told him, before walking away.

Villagers race towards the palace as Yami, now with Seto, follow on horseback and see that the battle preparations are getting underway. Yami goes to plan for Zorc but is too weak to stand and allows Seto to lead the army. As Zorc approaches, Yugi draws and sets 1 card before playing Silent Swordsman (Silent Swordsman LV3 in the CG and it's a LIGHT Level 3 monster) (1000) in Attack Mode, leaving Joey confused as to what deck Yugi is playing but Tea` hopes it isn't one Bakura picked. As DB wonders what strategy Yugi is going for, Yugi activates his face down Marshmallon Glasses, forcing DK's attacks to Marshmallon. (The real card affects all the opponent's monsters.)

DB knows that Yugi's score is safe provided Marshmallon is in Defense Mode (which isn't completely true in that case either as some monsters inflict piercing Battle Damage) and uses Negate Defense to put Marshmallon in Attack Mode before attacking it with DK, leaving Yugi down to 2400 LPs. DB sets 1 card to end his turn.

Back in Egypt, Zorc continues making his away through town and Seto orders his army to wait until his red eyes can be seen before firing. They release their arsenal but nothing affects Zorc and he fires back with much more success, prompting Yami and Setos' army to retreat to the palace. On the RPG table, the events of the past are affecting the future. Yugi draws and due to his SS' effect, it goes from Level 0 to Level 1 and 1000 to 1500 ATK. He goes to make his next move but DB activates Call of the Earthbound to make SS attack a monster on the field and Zoma the Spirit, which becomes a monster with 500 DEF and as a result of ZtS being destroyed, it will counterattack and deal Yugi twice his SS' ATK. (The real card deals only the full ATK of the monster that destroyed it.) However, Yugi activates Turn Jump to negate the attack and advance 3 turns, making Silent Swordsman Level 4 with 3000 ATK. Silent Swordsman counterattacks and destroys DK, leaving DB down to 1900 LPs, then attacks directly with Marshmallon, leaving DB with 1600 LPs.

They have no idea what DB has in store next and Zorc continues his journey through town and the group decide to summon their spiritual monsters. However, their attacks don't harm Zorc at all and Zorc wipes them all out. At the RPG table, DB was hoping for more of a challenge since Yami had no trouble defeating Zorc last time. A bolt of lightning aims for Egyptian Yami but Shada takes the hit instead and everyone will soon join him in the Shadow Realm as Zorc brings eternal darkness to Egypt. EY won't let Shada's actions be in vain but the only way to save them all is locked where Yugi and Dark Bakura are!
