Episode 200: Spiritual Awakening

As the storm rages on above, Yugi learns that Dark Bakura sent Rex and Weevil to the Shadow Realm as punishment for their crime. Despite sharing differences, Dark Bakura and Yugi both want all seven Millennium Items together but Dark Bakura knows more about the past than Yami does. Yugi does want to help Yami and brings him out where Yami doesn't trust Dark Bakura even though they're more alike than he cares to admit. Dark Bakura heads out, ready for Phase 2 of his plan. Inside Kaiba Corp, Kaiba works until the storm knocks out the power and Dark Bakura takes over his computer screen, showing a lifeless Mokuba and suggests coming with his Deck and Duel Disk.

Kaiba arrives on the roof where Dark Bakura and lifeless Mokuba are and DB would tell Kaiba where his soul is but isn't so sure Kaiba would believe him but Kaiba wants the duel over with and preparations get underway as DB takes the duel to the Shadow Realm. DB draws and uses Polymerization to discard his Headless Knight and The Earl of Demise for The Duke of Demise (2000) in Attack Mode (which is made an Effect Monster in both versions at 7:57 into the episode). Kaiba draws and summons Vorse Raider (1900) in Attack Mode, then uses Shrink to halve DoD's ATK to 1000. His attack with VR doesn't destroy DoD by its effect but leaves DB down to 3100 LPs but unafraid.

DB draws and due to DoD's side-effect, pays 500 Life Points to bring his score down to 2600. Next he tributes DoD for Diabound Kernel (1800) in Attack Mode. Then he plays Spirit Illusion to give him a copy of DK. Now he uses his DK copy's effect to lower VR's ATK by its own ATK, leaving VR's ATK down to 100. His original DK destroys VR and leaves Kaiba down to 2300 LPs.

Kaiba draws and summons Lord of Dragons (Lord of D. in the CG) (1200) in Attack Mode and activates The Flute of Summoning Dragon to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode, all of which DB was hoping for as Kaiba begins having similar visions to when he dueled Yami. Kaiba attacks but DB activates Spirit Shield, which can negate the attack by removing from play 1 monster in his Graveyard. Kaiba sets 1 card to end his turn so DB draws and plays Pot of Greed. Next he plays Grief Tablet, sealing LoD in the tablet and will deal Kaiba 500 damage if the card is destroyed. Then he uses his DK copy's effect to weaken BEWD, leaving it with 1200 ATK. Finally his attack with the original DK prompts Kaiba to activate Attack Guidance Armor to move the attack to the LoD Stone Tablet, destroying it and leaving Kaiba down to 1200. With that, DB sets 2 cards to end his turn.

Kaiba draws and uses Card of Demise to draw cards until he has 5 cards in his hand. Next he uses Soul Release to remove from play the 2 monsters in DB's Graveyard, destroying SS as a result. Then he plays Silent Doom to bring back Vorse Raider in Defense Mode, then tributes it and his weakened BEWD for another Blue-Eyes in Attack Mode. His attack destroys DC, leaving DB down to 1400 LPs but letting DB activate Rebirth Tablet and Mirror Tablet, bringing back Diabound Kernel and giving it half of BEWD's ATK, respectively, raising its ATK by 1500 to 3300. He counter attacks, destroying BEWD and leaving Kaiba down to 900 LPs but Kaiba uses Monster Reborn to bring it back. However, the sun is coming up and DB must go as he has some unfinished business to attend to and departs after giving Kaiba the Millennium Eye.

Meanwhile, the gang is about to board their flight to Cairo, Egypt, which is more than a trip as it's a trip to Yami's past. Now on board and past take-off, Yugi hopes Yami gets what he's looking for.
