Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 12)
*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 191: Down in Flames (2)
Fricka's Mediation Anime Normal Trap Remove from play 1 "Wotan's Judgment" from your Graveyard. You take no Battle Damage this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Negate Attack and Waboku do this card's job way better so this'll need quite the buff if it is to have any playability at all. |
Hyper Refresh Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only if the combined ATK of your opponent's face-up monsters is higher than your Life Points, while you control no monsters. Double your Life Points. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Unfortunately, this card is less good than I'd first thought as my indication said it didn't require you to have no monsters out even though that's the condition Joey had when he activated it. This really isn't much better than Draining Shield, even as a Quick-Play Spell. |
Episode 190: Down in Flames (1)
Erda's Guidance Anime Normal Spell Discard 1 Spell Card. Select 1 Trap Card from your Graveyard and Set it. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Even if you have a Spell Card you can't use at the moment, save it for later instead of disposing it to get a Trap Card from your Graveyard that won't surprise your opponent. |
Wotan's Judgment Anime Counter Trap Activate only when a monster is selected as an attack target. Switch the top card of your Deck with a Spell Card in your hand, then shuffle your Deck to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Far too situational as is to be any good when Negate Attack does all this card's benefits without changing the contents of your hand or Deck. |
Landstar Shot Anime Equip Spell Equip only to a "Landstar" monster. It gains 600 ATK. When the equipped monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on he field and have 1 "Landstar" monster you control gain 400 ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | The ATK boost in both effects will have to do better because the strongest Landstar in the anime has only 900 ATK and this would give it no more than 1500 ATK unless multiple copies were used. Worse still, you're required to destroy a Spell or Trap Card on the field when its host is destroyed and sent to the Grave, which could mean your own. |
Episode 189: Child's Play
Valkyrie Erste LIGHT / Fairy / Level 6 / ATK 1600 / DEF 1800 Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 monster from your opponent's Graveyard. This turn, this card's original ATK becomes equal to the original ATK of removed monster. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Though its ATK is no higher than Zwei, it can become a temporary powerhouse, not to mention remove threats that cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects or one or the other but it relies entirely on your opponent having monsters in their Graveyard. |
Valkyrie Zwei LIGHT / Fairy / Level 5 / ATK 1600 / DEF 1600 When this card is Summoned, select 1 monster your opponent controls and destroy it. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | We're not as lucky as Zigfried von Shroeder was in the anime so this'll be pretty well useless in your hand. |
Ride of the Valkyries Anime Normal Spell Special Summon as many "Valkyrie" monsters from your hand as possible. At the end of this turn, return all monsters Special Summoned this way to your Deck. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It'd probably even be able to Special Summon monsters like Dark Valkyria and Element Valkyrie but as is, it's not as devastating as the anime would have you believe because Zigfried was just lucky thanks to the writers and none of the Valkyrie monsters he owns are all that good on their own. |
Mystic Eruption Anime Quick-Play Spell If a Spell or Trap Card was destroyed this turn, inflict 1000 damage to the owner(s) of the destroyed card(s). COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | This'd see some play given we still have Mystical Space Typhoon legal for play but the other two big ones, Heavy Storm and Harpie's Feather Duster, aren't so lucky so your odds of using this aren't very high. |
Dragon Lady LIGHT / Warrior / Level 7 / ATK 2500 / DEF 2100 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned with "Luminous Cloud". Once per turn, you can select 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field, and destroy it. This card cannot declare an attack the turn you activate this effect. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | This is what you get for Tributing those specific monsters with Luminous Cloud, a pathetic excuse of a monster. I'd rather use Dark Magician. |
Luminous Cloud Anime Normal Spell Tribute 1 "Master Kyonshee" and 1 "Kung-Fu Nyan Nyan". Special Summon 1 "Dragon Lady" from your hand or Deck. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Pretty pathetic to tribute two monsters that were better off on your field for a monster with stats no stronger than Dark Magician's and an effect no better than Mystical Space Typhoon. |
Kung-Fu Nyan Nyan EARTH / Warrior / Level 4 / ATK 1700 / DEF 1000 During your Standby Phase, if this face-up Attack Position card did not attack during your last turn, it gains 300 ATK . If this card attacks after gaining ATK this way, it loses 300 ATK during the End Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | I don't think any true master of Kung-Fu would wait to gain power when the enemy is upon them so this monster is a disgrace to the true masters of the sport. |
Episode 188: Let the Games Begin! (2)
Grappler of Landstar EARTH / Warrior / Level 3 / ATK 1000 / DEF 500 He's armed and dangerous! Few monsters dare to cross his path at night. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Armed and dangerous? Yeah right because that'd have amounted to much higher stats than what he has. |
Knight of Landstar EARTH / Warrior / Level 3 / ATK 1000 / DEF 900 A brave knight eager to battle. His strength is weak but is made up for his determination. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Same as Brigadier of Landstar's comments. |
Brigadier of Landstar EARTH / Warrior / Level 3 / ATK 900 / DEF 1200 This spirit fights with a weapon. Though inexperienced, it possesses a strange power. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Anime fans will want this card even though it's stats are dismal in today's metagame but that still doesn't make for a playable Normal Monster like this. |
Landstar Forces Anime Normal Spell Special Summon as many Level 3 or lower "Landstar" monsters from your hand as possible in face-up Attack Position. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | We don't have that many Landstar monsters in the card game at the moment but if we get the other Landstars used in the anime, which are all searchable with Reinforcement of the Army, then this has a shot at being playable, especially since you can do what you want with those monsters. Better Landstar monsters may get released, which is mostly why I'm giving this card 2 out of 5. |
Ancient Dragon DARK / Dragon / Level 8 / ATK 2800 / DEF 2100 If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, destroy all Defense Position monsters your opponent controls. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | A bit easier to play than Red Dragon Archfiend, which obviously didn't exist when this card appeared, though this card is slightly weaker than RDA. At least it doesn't have to be Summoned using that beyond terrible method Yugi's grandpa used to bring it out. |
Ancient Tome Anime Continuous Spell Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can switch 1 card from your hand with the top card of your Deck. During each of your Standby Phases, send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. If you do not, destroy this card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | This is a pretty poor version of Card Trader, which although Card Trader still swaps cards and has no guarantee of a a better card, neither does this and unlike this card, at least Card Trader shuffles it into the Deck and lets you draw the top card without having a maitenance cost or other type of fee. |
Episode 187: Let the Games Begin! (1) (Continued)
Stone Giant EARTH / Rock / Level 3 / ATK 400 / DEF 2000 This card cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon. During each of your End Phases, if this card did not attack this turn, you take 500 damage. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | 2000 DEF may give it 2 stars under normal conditions but once you read the effect, you'll understand why this guy doesn't qualify for the extra star. |
Ancient Key Anime Continuous Spell When you activate this card, you can Special Summon up to 2 "Stone Giants" from your hand or Deck in Attack Position. During your Main Phase, you can send this face-up card and 2 "Stone Giants" (whose battle positions have been changed twice each) you control to the Graveyard to add 1 "Ancient Gate" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | As you'll soon see, Stone Giants aren't any better than Ancient Giant so this card is worthless. |
