At the duel, thank to Zigfried's Ride of the Valkyries card, he gets to Special Summon all Valkyrie monsters in his hand, bringing out 3 Valkyrie Zwei and 1 Valkyrie Erste (1600 x4) in Attack Mode. Due to VZ's effect, Joey's Jinzo is destroyed and VE's effect makes her ATK equal Jinzo's, putting its ATK up to 2400. He attacks with all of his monsters and they connect but Joey's score drops to 800 as Joey activated Hyper Refresh to double his LPs first, making his score 8000 before the attacks. Zigfried sets 1 card to end his turn and due to RotV's side-effect, his Valkyrie monsters return to his Deck. Meanwhile, Roland has isolated the virus and is ready to bring things to normal and Kaiba activates the backup system.

He asks Roland to run a second background check on Zigfried Lloyd to see if there's any connection to the Schroeder family. Joey draws and summons Swordsman of Landstar (500) in Attack Mode and attacks Zigfried directly but Zigfried counters with Fricka's Mediation to remove from play 1 card in his Graveyard (more specifically Wotan's Judgment) and negate the attack. Joey sets 1 card face down and Zigfried is in shock that dueling Joey has turned out to be more fun than he previously thought. He activates Nibelung's Treasure, letting him activate a card on Joey's field, then draw 5 cards and he chooses Nibelung's Ring. Next he activates Goddess Skuld, Goddess Urd and Goddess Verdandi (which are actually later called "Goddess Skuld's Oracle", "Goddess Urd's Verdict" and "Goddess Verdande's Guidance"). Due to GSO's effect, Zigfried gets to see Joey's next 3 cards and rearrange them in the order he chooses.

(Spellbook Organization, or previously Pigeonholing Books of Spell has a similar effect except it applies to your next cards and isn't Continuous.) Next, due to GVG's effect, Zigfried guesses Joey's top card on his deck and if right, it's Set. Since he was right, Joey sets it. Finally he activates GUV's effect to guess one of Joey's set cards and if right, it's removed from play. He correctly guesses Joey's hidden monster Panther Warrior and the monster is removed from play and ends his turn. Joey draws and due to NR's effect, he draws another card and if either card is a Monster Card it's sent to the Grave and since one of them is the Monster Card Knight of Dark Dragon, Joey discards it. Furthermore, NR prevents the equipped monster from attacking.

Joey activates Dangerous Machine Type-6, which will force a player to do what the result is during his Standby Phase. Zigfried draws, forcing Joey to set and remove from play Goblin Attack Force, then sets 1 card to end his turn. Joey draws and is forced to discard his drawn Monster Card, then activates his DMT6's effect and gets a 3 to draw 1 more card. Next he summons Sasuke Samurai (500) in Attack Mode but Zigfried activates Loge's Flame, preventing monsters with 2000 or less ATK from attacking. Joey hopes to slip past that by activating Graceful Dice but his roll gets only a 3, making his monster's ATK 1500. Meanwhile, Leon and Rebecca have won their next matches.
Joey sets 1 card to end his turn so Zigfried uses his Goddess cards' effects to force Joey to remove from play Gearfried the Iron Knight. Next he plays Swan Maiden to Special Summon 1 Valkyrie monster in his hand and plays Valkyrie Erste. His attack is stopped by Joey's Silver Dollar Trap Card, saving his monster from destruction in battle.

Zigfried sets 1 card to end his turn, confident Joey's luck won't last much longer. Joey draws, using DMT6's effect to get a 3 and draw 1 more card. Next he uses Roll of Fate and gets a 6 to draw 6 more cards and remove from play the next six cards after that on top of his Deck. Next he plays Giant Trunade to return all Spell and Trap Cards in play to their owners' hands. However, this activates Zigfried's face down Apple of Enlightenment, letting Zigfried draw 1 card since it left the field. Furthermore, Loge's Flame's other effect lets Zigfried play Valkyrie Brunhilde (1800) in Attack Mode since it was removed from the field. VB's effect gives her 300 ATK per Dragon and Warrior-Type monster on the field, raising her ATK to 2400.

Joey isn't done as he tributes SoL for Maximum Six (1900) in Attack Mode and its effect forces Joey to roll a die and the result increases his ATK by 200 x the die result, which gets a six and raises its ATK by 1200 to 3100. Then he plays Star Blaster to tribute his SS and roll a die, adding the tributed monster's Level to the die result's and gets a 5 to let him play the Level 7 Red-Eyes Black Dragon (Red-Eyes B. Dragon in the CG) (2400) in Attack Mode. His first attack leaves Zigfried down to 900 LPs as VB's other effect lowers her DEF by 1000 to 1000 to prevent her destruction in battle. Next, Red-Eyes' attack destroys Zigfried's other Valkyrie and leaves Zigfried with 100 LPs. Finally, he activates DMT6 again and sets 1 card to end his turn.

Zigfried draws and equips VB with Enchanted Sword Nothung, raising her ATK by 400 to 2800 and removing from play all Dragon-Type monsters on the field. Furthermore, he equips her with Rainbow Bridge Bifrost, raising her ATK by 500 for each of Joey's removed from play monsters, raising its ATK to 5000. Zigfried's attack forces Joey to activate Compensation Mediation and Zigfried shuffles 2 cards and sets them with CM, leaving Joey to pick one of them and if it's CM, he's spared another turn. However, he guesses wrong and Zigfried continues his attack to win the duel and leave tournament down to the final 4 duelists. As Joey chases the others around after mocking him more than anything, Yugi and Yami figure Joey probably won't change with time.
