Yu-Gi-Oh Cards: The Good, Bad and Meh (Page 11)

Mask of Dispel: Hidden in Shame Another foil that proves to undermine its own potential. Mask of Dispel dates back to Labyrinth of Nightmare as a Super Rare Continuous Spell that doesn't do anything to the affected Spell Card and deals minimal burn damage. The artwork certainly looks scary, but the damage will take a while to add up without multiple copies. Really should've been a Common if it wasn't going to deal more than 500 damage per turn and/or negate the Spell's effect like in the anime. Heck, it could let you choose 1 Spell each turn and deal its owner(s) 500 damage per chosen card. |

Shark Drake: Powerhouse from the Sea The original Shark Drake from Galactic Overlord has always impressed me as a serious threat. For just 3 Level 4s, you have a monster that can repeatedly revive beaten opponent's monsters, lower their ATK and allow this behemoth to attack it once more. Coupled with its high ATK, that's going to impact the opponent quite a bit. Even if its effect isn't used, 2800 ATK is going to take down a good number of monsters, including most Level 6s. Certainly one of the set's better Ultra Rares. |

Card of Safe Return: Safer Than Advertised For a while, it was actually banned, though was also included in Structure Deck: Zombie Madness. Considering it's already watered down from the anime, I can't really see why it would need to be more than Limited at any given time, especially with the ways to revive monsters dwindling over time. Back in the day, it was an Ultra Rare, but the set it came from (see top article) didn't have many good ways to revive monsters and the ways to do so were quite hard to obtain. Just kinda feels underwhelming for a banned card overall. |
