Activate only when an opponent's monster declares a direct attack. Negate the attack and gain Life Points equal to its ATK.

Comments: Activating cards in response to direct attacks is more risky as you'll likely take the attacking monster's full ATK if you fail. Plus, we already have a better version of this card called Draining Shield.
Deep Sea Attack
Anime Normal Spell
Send 1 WATER monster with 2000 or more ATK from your hand to the Graveyard, then select 1 monster you control. That monster can attack your opponent directly this turn.

Comments: I'd probably rather keep the WATER monster with 2000+ ATK unless the monster I'm choosing to attack directly is stronger but even then, you're risking your monster's destruction, which'll leave you out two monsters.

Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when a monster you control battles an opponent's monster. Reduce the ATK of the monster you control to 0, then inflict 600 damage to your opponent.

Comments: Minimal burn damage is not worth making your monster's ATK 0, even if you're up against an evil being like Yuma, Shark and Kite were when this card debuted.
Escape Lure

Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Change the attack target to another monster you control and any battle damage either player takes from this battle is halved.

Comments: Barely giving this card 2/5 because the battle damage is halved for both players and it can help somewhat if any of your other monsters are stronger than the attacking monster.

Activate only when the battle position of a monster(s) is changed by a card effect. Inflict 400 damage to your opponent for each of those monsters that changed its battle position.

Comments: This could combo with Book of Eclipse or even Curse of Anubis to deal up to 2000 damage but you probably won't be dealing that much.

Photon Prevent
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when you would take damage from a card effect and you control a "Photon" monster. Effect Damage you take from that card effect becomes 0.

Rating: 2
Comments: More situational than other cards that mitigate or neutralize effect damage but it gives you an additional defense in Photon Decks.
Shield Fin

When a card or effect is activated during the Battle Phase, you can make the original ATK of the equipped monster 0. It cannot be destroyed by battle, until the End Phase.

Rating: 1
Comments: It doesn't even negate the effect that triggers this card's effect and it's highly situational. Just use Darkworld Shackles instead.
Battle Route

During your opponent's Battle Phase, if you control a monster, all face-up Attack Position monsters your opponent controls must attack, if able.

Comments: Forcing your opponent's monsters to attack is really only worthwhile if you control a monster that can punish your opponent for attacking it like Yubel but unless you control a monster, this won't help you at all.

Comments: Bring out whatever one you want and you can do what you will with that monster once it's on the field but it's still pretty specific regarding what it Special Summons and won't do you much good without a Utopia monster or a Special Summon monster.
Heraldry Burst

Activate only during the Battle Phase. Return all cards in your opponent's Spell & Trap Card Zone to the hand, then end the Battle Phase. During the End Phase of this turn, inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each card returned.

Comments: Less versatile than Giant Trunade, which is still banned, but it also does more than Giant Trunade as well so it's not too bad.

Tribute 1 face-up Xyz Monster. Draw 1 card, then draw 1 card for each of the Tributed monster's Xyz Materials.

Comments: With some luck, you could Tribute an opponent's Xyz Monster and just take the benefits of this card, though it's still kind a situational.
Xyz Triangle Force

Activate only when you control 3 or more face-up Xyz Monsters. Select 1 card on the field and destroy it.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: If I'm going to put the effort in to get 3 Xyz Monsters on the field, I should be rewarded with a powerful effect not a pitiful one like this.

Half Guard

If an Attack Position monster you control would be destroyed by battle, it cannot be destroyed by that battle, and after damage calculation, change it to Defense Position.

Comments: It can be useful if your monster has low ATK and/or DEF and will survive the first attack if nothing else interferes but it's not much to work with.
Episode 64: Change of Hart

Anime Continuous Trap
Select 1 face-up monster on the field. It loses 800 ATK, but it cannot be destroyed by battle. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.

Rating: 1
Comments: Regardless of what monster you choose, there are better ways to hinder that monster without having any benefits being offset.
Heraldry Curse
Anime Equip Spell
Equip only to a "Heraldic" monster. Once per turn, you can inflict 300 damage to both players for each face-up monster on the field.

Comments: You'd need at least 4 monsters on the field to deal a decent amount of damage and the equipped monster isn't benefited at all.
Episode 63: The Hart of the Matter
Photon Wing
Anime Equip Spell
Equip only to a "Photon" monster. Once per turn, you can select 1 Xyz Monster you control and detach all of its Xyz Materials. Until the End Phase, the equipped monster gains ATK equal to that target's Rank x 200. The equipped monster can attack your opponent directly during the turn you activate this effect.

Rating: 1
Comments: Sacrificing your Xyz Monster's Xyz Materials just for a direct attack and a mediocre ATK boost is not a wise decision since your monster will now be more vulnerable than it probably would've been had you not used this.
Heraldry Blast

When the equipped monster is destroyed, inflict damage to its controller equal to half its ATK.

Rating: 2
Comments: With the right monster it can deal a good amount of damage but the monster has to be destroyed and nowadays more monsters avoid destruction.

Remove from play 1 monster on the field. If it was a WATER monster, take 1000 damage.

Comments: This could get around plenty of monsters that are triggered upon being destroyed or just otherwise annoying but a WATER monster will cost you LP if you use this to get rid of it.
Rivals Unite
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when the attack of a monster you control is negated. Equip this card to that monster. Take control of the equipped monster. It cannot attack. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card. When this card is destroyed, return control of the equipped monster to its owner.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Since you're bound to have the attack negated if your opponent's monster is weaker, you'll gain control of it and you won't want to attack with it anyway if it's weak. The major downside is if this gets destroyed, your opponent regains control of their monster.
Power Change Barrier
Anime Continuous Trap
Select 1 face-up Attack Position monster you control. When it is targeted by your opponent's Spell, Trap, or Monster Effect, negate the activation of that effect and destroy it, then the selected monster loses 600 ATK. Destroy this card during the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: I don't see the point in draining your monster's ATK just to negate card effects, especially when Safe Zone will protect it from harm for free.
