Episode 66: Sphere of Fear (2)
At the duel, Vetrix figures Yuma is finally getting lucky but Yuma says it's skill that is on his side. Yuma draws and powers up Number 17: Leviathan Dragon by detaching an Xyz Material, raising its ATK to 2500. Next, he takes out Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage and Number 10: Illumiknight with his first two attacks, leaving Vetrix down to 3800 LPs. Then,  he uses Xyz Triangle Force to destroy Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction since he has 3 Xyz Monsters out. Vetrix has his work cut out for him as he has no cards in his hand or on his field. Nevertheless, Vetrix draws, faking to possess Yuma's Feel the Flow ability before using the effects of 2 Heraldic Beast Unicorns in his Graveyard to banish them and revive Number 10: Illummiknight and Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage (2400 x2) in Attack Mode. However, Astral fears that Vetrix isn't attacking with them.
Vetrix activates Heraldry Reborn to revive Heraldic Beast Berners Falcon (1000) in Attack Mode. Now, he uses HBBF's effect to make all monsters on his field have the same Level, including the two Xyz Monsters. (The real card's effect only works on Level 5 or higher monsters and makes them all Level 4.) With that done, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 69: Heraldry Crest (2600) in Attack Mode, just as Astral feared. Worse still, as the Sphere Field pulsates with colors, Vetrix removes his mask to reveal a void on half of his face as he figures that with facing defeat, Yuma and Astral should face him. Bronk and the others know it's not a special effect and they need to support Yuma, especially since Number 69 is Vetrix's most powerful Number card since it can't be destroyed by card effects and negates the effects of all other monsters. (The real card doesn't have either of these effects.)
Vetrix demonstrates his monster's power by negating all three effects of Yuma's Xyz Monsters. Next, since he's taken Number 17's effects, Vetrix uses Number 17's effect to power up Number 69 by 500 to 3100. Worse still, he uses Heraldic Beast Leo's effect to remove itself from play to make Number 17 lose ATK equal to the difference in Heraldry Crest's ATK, bringing it back down to 2000. His attack takes out Number 17 to leave Yuma down to just 500 LPs. Yuma isn't about to give up and shows that Vetrix is a monster too like Number 69. Trey and Quattro were good people and were concerned about their father but Vetrix didn't care. Vetrix is angry but Yuma remains firm and is ready for whatever Vetrix throws at him.
All Vetrix can do now is end his turn so Yuma and Astral show how Zexal is created by merging together. With the crowd cheering them on, Yuma and Astral draw before using Number 39: Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (Number C39: Utopia Ray in the CG) (2500) in Attack Mode. Vetrix protests that it doesn't change anything and uses Heraldry Crest's effect to steal Utopia Ray's effects but Yuma is ready with Seven Store to Tribute Terror-Byte and draw 1 card, plus an addition al card for each of that monster's Xyz Materials for a total of 3 cards. The cards are what they need and Yuma uses Zexal Weapon - Lightning Blade (ZW - Lightning Blade in the CG)'s effect to equip it to Utopia Ray, preventing Vetrix from destroying Yuma's Spell and Trap Cards and giving Utopia Ray 1200 more ATK to 3700.
However, Vetrix counters with Heraldry Crest's effect but Yuma is ready and returns ZWLB to his hand to prevent Utopia Ray's destruction, returning its ATK to 2500.
(The real card destroys itself to prevent the equipped monster's destruction.) Vetrix won't give up and attacks but Yuma uses Bacon Saver's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play, prevent Utopia Ray's destruction and reduce Battle Damage to 0. Next, he re-equips Lightning Blade to Utopia Ray, returning its ATK to 3700. Vetrix compares Yuma's resilience to his father and cockroaches but nothing Vetrix says will make Yuma give up!
