Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 62)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 9: Feline Frenzy
Joe the Pixie
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 1 / ATK 100 / DEF 300
If this card would be destroyed by battle, you take no battle damage from that battle.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Its weak stats would make it easy to take out in battle and thus you'll be spared the damage but in most cases it'd be in Defense Mode, where you won't likely take battle damage anyway.
Pixie Gong
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when you take battle damage from a direct attack. Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower "Pixie" or "Fairy" monster from your Deck.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Taking direct damage is always a poor decision unless it's minimal and this also won't give you many options to bring out.
Cat World
Anime Field Spell
All "Neko" and "Cat" monsters on the field gain ATK equal to their original ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Though we don't really have any worthwhile monsters to make use of this, there's always the chance that'll change in the future.
Twin Tail Cat Lady
DARK / Beast-Warrior-Type Xyz / Rank 1 / ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
3 Level 1 monsters
Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to have this card gain 800 ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Stats are far too low to make the requirement of 3 Level 1 monsters worthwhile and the end result is, all it can do is gain ATK.
Monster Cat
DARK / Beast / Level 1 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Mysterious Cat Transformation". When this card is Special Summoned, destroy all Level 4 or lower monsters your opponent controls and inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each monster destroyed. Once per turn, you can add 1 "Stray Cat" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Much like Ritual Monsters that need a Ritual Spell, this kitty needs a specific Spell Card to make the most of itself, though that's only making it somewhat playable.
Mysterious Cat Transformation
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when a "Stray Cat" you control is destroyed by battle. Special Summon 1 "Monster Cat" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: While Monster Cat doesn't have to be Special Summoned with this, doing so does have quite the nasty effect, though that monster is otherwise quite feeble.
Flip Flap
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 Attack Position monster on the field and change its battle position.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: About as versatile as Block Attack since it does pretty much the same thing except it doesn't directly state what battle position the affected monster changes to.
Stray Cat
EARTH / Beast / Level 1 / ATK 100 / DEF 300
While this card is in face-up Attack Position, your opponent cannot select other you control monsters as an attack target.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: With only 100 ATK points, it'd be a REALLY bad idea to force your opponent to attack it, especially if you have stronger monsters out. Plus, since it'll be in Attack Position, you'll likely be taking lots of damage.
Cat Meeting
Anime Continuous Spell
When a "Neko" or "Cat" monster is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower "Neko" or "Cat" monster from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This'd be a step in the right direction for a Cat or Neko archetype to be successful or at least viable but right now, we just don't have the cards to even make this worthwhile.
Inviting Cat
Anime Normal Spell
Add 1 "Neko" or "Cat" card from your Deck to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Cat and Neko cards are pretty scarce in the CG, especially since most of them aren't actually a member of either. The only ones I can think of that we could search with this are Neko Mane King, Nekogal #1 or Nekogal #2, though the latter may get changed to be excluded later on.
Episode 8: The Sparrow (2)
Star Sparrow Forever
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a monster you control is selected as an attack target. Select 1 "Esper Star Sparrow" in your Graveyard and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position and make its ATK 0, then change the attack target to the Special Summoned monster.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: The card's name is completely contradictory to the effect as Esper Star Sparrow is even worse off than it normally would be. Even Yuma knew it was pointless to activate the card when it didn't change the outcome. Nelson's reasoning was poor as well.
Vector Change
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when your opponent's monster declares an attack. Select 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls. Change the attacking monster to Defense Position and the Defense Position monster to Attack Position. (Flip Effects are not activated at this time.)
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's really only good when the opponent's stronger monster is attacking (aside from Jinzo obviously) and their weaker monster is in Defense Mode. At least it prevents Flip monster effects from activating though.
Reserve Cyclone
Anime Normal Trap
When control of 1 monster you control changes to your opponent and that monster is Tributed, select 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls and destroy it.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: A bit of a strict activation requirement to meet but you can bet your stolen monster won't be around on your opponent's field for long. Tribute Summoning doesn't happen too often these days though.
Change to Jet Iron
Anime Normal Trap
Tribute 1 "Esper Star Sparrow", "Beast-Warrior Puma", "Phoenix Beast Gairuda", and "Ironhammer the Giant". Special Summon 1 "Dimensional Jet Iron" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Our version of Dimensional Jet Iron doesn't even need this card but is Summoned as though it did, which doesn't take away much of the effort and it really isn't worth bringing out.
Wings of Unity
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack and you control a face-up "Esper Star Sparrow". Negate the attack, and Special Summon 1 "Phoenix Beast Gairuda" from your Deck.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Unity can be a powerful thing. It's helped Yugi, Jaden and Yusei get out of really tough situations and can lighten the load when carrying something heavy but all the unity in the world can't help worthless monsters like our versions of Esper Star Sparrow and friends.
Episode 7: The Sparrow (1)
Furious Max's Curse
Anime Equip Spell
The equipped monster cannot change its battle position and cannot be destroyed by battle.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Whether it goes to your monster or your opponent's, there's a perk and a downside, which doesn't make it that useful.
Space Ration
Anime Normal Spell
Activate only when you control a face-up "Esper Star Sparrow". Draw 2 cards.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: The different name is irrelevent when the monster isn't worth the effort, thus making this not worth the effort either, at least not as is.
Trion Barrier
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when you have  3 "Triple Star Trion" in your hand, and an opponent's monster declares an attack. Select 1 monster in Attack Position on the field and change it to Defense Position, then Special Summon 3 "Triple Star Trion" from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Triple Star Trion never proved to me that it was all that worthwhile and this asks for all three of them to be in your hand at the time your opponent attacks but I really don't think it's worth it since Book of Moon can do more for less.
Episode 6: Flipping Out (2) (Continued)
Book of Flip
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 face-up Flip Effect Monster on the field. Change it to face-down Defense Position.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Book of Moon is already more versatile and less restrained as it can put any monster to face-down Defense Position, though this wouldn't be too bad since Book of Moon is currently limited to 1 for tournaments.
Traitor Fog
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when a monster(s) is Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field. Take control of 1 of those monsters. When this card is removed from the field the field, control of that monster switches to your opponent. When your opponent takes control of that monster, destroy this card.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Special Summoning is more common now than it ever has been but once this card is off the field, your opponent regains control of that monster and can easily destroy this card just by taking their monster back.
