Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 61)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 6: Flipping Out (2)
Flipangutan
DARK / Zombie / Level 4 / ATK 800 / DEF 1600
FLIP: Select 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls. Change it to Attack Position.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's not likely going to do much for you unless the affected monster has more DEF than ATK, but even then it may not be low enough ATK for you to take down.
Episode 5: Flipping Out (1)
Chewbone Jr.
EARTH / Zombie / Level  1 / ATK 100 / DEF 300
FLIP: Shuffle this card into the Deck.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Flip is about as good at dueling as he is playing tricks because only gullible people run cards this bad if they take info from someone else. At least Konami opted to have Chewbone Special Summon these guys as Tokens.
Porcupine Fish
WATER / Zombie / Level 1 / ATK 200 / DEF 400
FLIP: Inflict 400 damage to your opponent.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Do I even need to say why this card is bad? A real porcupine is more harmful.
Ultra C
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when your opponent Xyz Summons a "Baby Tiragon". Special Summon 1 Xyz Monster from your opponent's Extra Deck to your side of the field and equip it with this card. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon.) When this card is removed from the field, control of that monster switches to your opponent. When control of that monster switches, destroy this card.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Baby Tiragon isn't a monster I'd gamble on seeing anytime soon because it's weak and not worth the effort as a whole. If Flip Turner hadn't given Yuma Baby Tiragon, he would've otherwise never seen it and been allowed to use this card against Yuma.
Episode 4: In the End (2)
Bug Switch
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when "Crashbug X", "Crashbug Y", and "Crashbug Z" are in your Graveyard. Select 1 face-up Defense Position monster you control. Change it to Attack Position, then Special Summon 1 "Super Crashbug" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard in face-up Defense Position.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: To have it even be remotely playable, it'd have to bring out Super Crashbug and ignore the summoning conditions because ours doesn't even need this card.
Episode 2: Go with the Flow (2)
Booming Urchin
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when your opponent activates a Trap Card. During your Standby Phase, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You'd eventually see a Trap Card activated so you're bound to do something with this but that 1000 damage takes longer than the Trap Card would take to be activated and may be destroyed without any benefits being received.
Bye Bye Damage
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 face-up Attack Position monster you control. This turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle, and if you take any battle damage from battles involving that monster, your opponent takes twice the battle damage you took.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Odds are, you'll take less than 1000 damage from the attack so your opponent probably won't be taking more than 1000 damage themselves but the amounts for both could still be higher.
Bonds Beyond Time (2)
Dark Spiral Force
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 monster you control. Its ATK is doubled. During this turn, "Dark Magician" cannot attack.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: Same as Neos Spiral Force's comments.
Neos Spiral Force
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 monster you control. Its ATK is doubled. During this turn, "Elemental Hero Neos" cannot attack.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: You'll have to wait a bit to use it as per Trap Card rules but you're able to use it any time and aren't required to control the monster that can't attack the turn it's used.
Stardust Mirage
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only if you control a face-up "Stardust Dragon". Return all monsters destroyed this turn to the field in the same battle positions they were in.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This applies to your opponent's monsters too so you're helping them out for free while you need to first have Stardust Dragon out.
Malefic Divide
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 "Malefic" monster in your Graveyard. Special Summon that monster, ignoring the Summoning conditions. During the End Phase, remove it from play.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Though powerful, Malefics are still way more vulnerable than Earthbound Immortals, which can be protected even from self-destruction.
Malefic Selector
Anime Normal Spell
Remove from play 2 "Malefic" monsters from your Graveyard. Add 2 "Malefic" cards from your Deck to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Malefic monsters are easily destroyed just from their own effects and this lets you get any 2 Malefic cards but we don't have as many to choose from.
Malefic Paradigm Shift
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a "Malefic Paradox Dragon" you control is destroyed. Pay half your Life Points. Special Summon 1 "Malefic Truth Dragon" from your hand, Deck or Graveyard.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: We have no use for this since Malefic Truth Dragon is Special Summoned via its effect and prevents bringing it out any other way like with this.
Dark Magic Twin Burst
Anime Normal Spell
This turn, 1 "Dark Magician" you control gains ATK equal to the current ATK of a "Dark Magician Girl" you control.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Much like Bond Between Teacher and Student, this requires both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl but neither card has gotten the power it needs to be consistantly successful.
Malefic Force
Anime Normal Trap
After activation, equip this card to a monster you control. It is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's Spell Cards.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: 1/3 of your opponent's cards won't do a thing to the equipped monster but that's also the same 1/3 that is most easily brought into play and there are some pretty powerful Spell Card that were once banned (and some have been re-banned).
Magic Gate of Miracles
Anime Normal Spell
Activate only if you control 2 or more Spellcaster-Type monsters. Change 1 Attack Position monster your opponent controls to Defense Position and take control of it. This monster cannot be destroyed by battle.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This can be pretty powerful, especially given there are some decent Spellcasters out there and this can take any Attack Position monster your opponent controls.
Bond Between Teacher and Student
Anime Normal Spell
If you control a face-up "Dark Magician", Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician Girl" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard in face-up Defense Position.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Dark Magician still remains as a rather mediocre card despite all the support that's been released to improve it and that's because it's still outclassed by monsters like Summoned Skull and Frostosaurus, whom are both Level 6 and have the same ATK. Dark Magician Girl isn't much better these days either.
Malefic Tune
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a face-up "Malefic" monster you control is destroyed. Draw 2 cards.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Since it doesn't specify how they have to be destroyed, you could run this in a Melfic Deck that runs no Field Spells but you still have to go through the effort to bring them out and there are better cards that can let you draw twice.
Reincarnation of Hope
Anime Normal Spell
Discard 2 cards. During your 2nd Standby Phase after activation, add 1 Monster Card from your Deck to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: The effect is too slow to make discarding 2 cards worthwhile as that lowers your options to defend yourself in the meantime.
Yu-Gi-Oh the Movie (4) (Continued)
Fallout
Anime Normal Spell
You can only activate this card when you Special Summon a monster. Increase the ATK and DEF of that monster by 4000 points. You cannot conduct your Draw Phase, Main Phase and Standby Phase for the next 5 turns.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Special Summoning is MUCH more common than when this appeared in the movie and 4000 extra ATK is probably more than enough to either deal heavy damage or win you the Duel but if you don't win then and there, you're losing multiple phases of your next 5 turns, leaving you pretty much without those turns.
