Episode 2: Go with the Flow (2)
At the duel, Yuma still doesn't know who his new friend is and learns its name is Astral but no one else can see him. Worse still, Astral has no idea what he is, only that he arrived with a great purpose. Yuma quickly becomes fed up and wants Astral to go away. Tori gets him back into dueling mode but Shark is feeling unstoppable and sets 1 card to end his turn. Astral tries to take over the duel for Yuma but Yuma ignores him and plays Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Blustering Winds to give GG 1000 ATK to 2800 this turn. His attack doesn't destroy Number 17 but brings Shark down to 3700 LPs as Shark explains that only a Number monster can destroy a Number monster in battle. (Not so in the CG, though a card called Number Wall does "give" them this effect.)
Shark draws and summons Drill Barnacle (300) in Attack Mode and Astral considers Yuma lucky for it. Next, Shark detaches an Xyz Material from Leviathan Dragon to raise its ATK by 500 to 3000. His attacks leave Yuma defenseless and down to 500 LPs. Yuma still doesn't want to hear Astral talking to him but Astral is losing his energy. Astral realizes that Numbers are part of the key to his memory and should Yuma win, he absorbs Numbers. While Yuma studies his hand, Shark uses Drill Barnacle's effect to give it 1000 ATK since Yuma took Battle Damage from its attack, raising its ATK to 1300. Plus, it can attack directly so next turn,
Yuma is finished if he can't win on his next turn. Yuma draws and summons Ganbara Knight (0000) in Attack Mode and gets scolded by Bronk. (Clearly you don't know that Ganbara Knight can switch to Defense Mode when attacked, Bronk.) Next, he uses Monster Reborn to revive Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode but it's no threat to Shark but Astral points Yuma to a Number Xyz Monster that he has and now that the stage is set, Yuma uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. His attack takes out DB to leave Shark down to 2500 LPs. However, Yuma's celebrations are short-lived when he's reminded that Leviathan Dragon has enough ATK to defeat Yuma in its next attack. Shark draws and uses Surface to revive Big Jaws (300) in Defense Mode. Then he tributes it for Jawsman (2600) in Attack Mode and Bronk explains how Tribute Summoning works. Due to Jawsman's effect, it gains 300 ATK for each other WATER  monster Shark has, raising its ATK by 300 to 2900.
Shark's first attack with Number 17 prompts Yuma to use Utopia's effect to get rid of an Xyz Material to negate the attack. The 2nd attack with Jawsman is enough for Yuma to ignore Astral again and activate Bye Bye Damage to prevent its destruction in battle but he and Shark take the Battle Damage only Shark's is doubled, leaving Yuma down to 100 LPs and Shark down to 1700 LPs.  However, Shark has a Trap Card too and activates Booming Urchin to deal 1000 damage to Yuma come his own next turn. Yuma draws and attacks with Utopia, then uses Utopia's effect to negate the attack. Next, since his attack was negated, he uses Double or Nothing! to double Utopia's ATK to 5000 and let it attack again. His attack takes out Number 17 to win the duel.
While Yuma, Bronk and Tori celebrate, Astral obtains Number 17: Leviathan Dragon from Shark and Shark's group members flee. Astral realizes that the number card is a part of his memory and must collect all 99 Numbers. Shark comes to and hands over Bronk's Deck. Astral feels it could be the start of a beautiful friendship if Yuma does what Astral says but Yuma isn't willing to try.
