Shadow Specters (Page 4)

SHSP-EN079
Survival of the Fittest
Normal Trap
Target 1 Dinosaur-Type monster you control; equip this card to that target. It gains 1000 ATK. When it destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: The equipped monster can make a second attack on an opponent's monster in a row.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Makes its host even stronger, or just stronger if it's a weak Dinosaur but it can only attack monsters.
SHSP-EN078
Grisaille Prison
Normal Trap
If you control a face-up monster that was Tribute, Ritual or Fusion Summoned: Until the end of your opponent's next turn, neither player can Synchro or Xyz Summon, Synchro and Xyz Monsters cannot attack, also their effects are negated.
RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: It's not too bad of an idea to stop your opponent from bringing something out or attacking with something that could harm or destroy your monster but yours are also affected.
SHSP-EN077
Chain Ignition
Continuous Trap
Once per turn, if a monster(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by your opponent's card effect (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: It relies solely on your opponent's monster getting destroyed by one of their own cards' effects and even then, you won't be destroying any further cards that turn once the effect resolves.
SHSP-EN076
Mistake
Continuous Trap
Neither player can add cards from their Deck to their hand except by drawing them.
SECRET RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: Although having Thunder King Rai-Oh's first effect, it's slower to activate and is more prone to removal.
SHSP-EN075
Vampire Takeover
Normal Trap
If you have no card in your Field Card Zone and all face-up monsters you control (min. 1) are Zombie-Type: Activate 1 "Vampire Kingdom" directly from your Deck, then, you can Special Summon 1 DARK "Vampire" monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position. You can only activate 1 "Vampire Takeover" per turn.
SUPER RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: It's too bad I cannot activate Zombie World from my deck as it's the better Zombie support card but you also at least get a free monster too, even it comes out in Defense Mode.
SHSP-EN074
Ghostrick Scare
Normal Trap
Target any number of face-down Defense Position monsters you control; change them to face-up Defense Position, count the number of "Ghostrick" monsters among them, and if you do, change up to that many face-up monsters your opponent controls to face-down Defense Position (min. 1).
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: One of the better Ghostrick Trap Cards as not only does it set you up for Normal Summoning Ghostricks but it hides your opponent's monsters to prevent their effects from being used.
SHSP-EN073
Ghostrick Vanish
Normal Trap
Reveal 1 "Ghostrick" monster in your hand; this turn, "Ghostrick" cards you control, and face-down Defense Position monsters you control, cannot be targeted by, or be destroyed by, card effects.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Your efforts save your Ghostrick monsters from effects that would otherwise harm them but even that can't save them from battle.
SHSP-EN072
Intrigue Shield
Normal Trap
Target 1 face-up monster you control; equip this card to that target. Once per turn, while the equipped monster is in face-up Attack Position, it cannot be destroyed by battle. You take no battle damage from attacks involving it.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: I am not intrigued by a card that has what cards before it already have, especially the likes of Fortress Warrior and Mist Body.
SHSP-EN071
Numbers Overlay Boost
Normal Trap
Target 1 "Number" Xyz Monster you control that has no Xyz Materials; attach 2 monsters from your hand to that face-up Xyz Monster, as Xyz Materials.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: The best Xyz Monsters out there are generally "Number" Xyz Monsters and this card doesn't require you to attach monsters whose Level equals the Rank of that Xyz Monster, making even your worst monsters fuel for your best ones!
SHSP-EN070
Burst Rebirth
Normal Trap
Pay 2000 Life Points, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-down Defense Position.
RARE
Rating: 1
Comments: Regardless of Monster Reborn's re-banning, this card is still outclassed by Call of the Haunted and The Shallow Grave, both of which are cost-free.
SHSP-EN069
Magicalized Duston Mop
Equip Spell
You can only control 1 "Magicalized Duston Mop". The equipped monster cannot be Tributed, or be used as a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Material for a Summon. When this card you control is destroyed by your opponent's card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Duston" monster from your Deck to your hand.
SHORT PRINT COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It restrains its host from being useful for other means but it can still attack or change its battle position and you cannot add another copy of this to your hand.
SHSP-EN068
Sacred Serpent's Wake
Quick-Play Spell
You can only activate 1 "Sacred Serpent's Wake" per turn. If you control 2 or more different kinds of monsters (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz): Activate 1 or more effects, depending on the number of different kinds you control, and resolve in sequence.
● 2 or more: Target 1 monster in your Graveyard or 1 of your banished monsters; add that target to your hand.
● 3 or more: Target 1 Trap Card in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand.
● 4: Target 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard, except "Sacred Serpent's Wake"; add that target to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: All of these effects can be achieved more easily through other cards.
SHSP-EN067
Return of the Monarchs
Continuous Spell
You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck. When you Tribute Summon a monster: You can activate 1 of these effects;
● Add, from your Deck to your hand, 1 monster with 2400 ATK and 1000 DEF with a different name from that Tribute Summoned monster.
● Add, from your Deck to your hand, 1 monster with 2800 ATK and 1000 DEF with a different name from that Tribute Summoned monster. The Tribute Summoned monster must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect. You can only activate this effect of "Return of the Monarchs" once per turn.
ULTRA RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: There's lots of possibilities of what you can get with this card's effect but your Extra Deck is off limits, the monster must be on the field to resolve the effect and you can't pick up another copy of the Tribute Summoned monster.
SHSP-EN066
Swords at Dawn
Quick-Play Spell
Target 1 Equip Spell Card in your Graveyard and 1 appropriate monster on the field; equip the Equip Spell Card to that monster. Destroy that Equip Spell Card during the End Phase. If you activate this card, you cannot Special Summon for the rest of this turn. You can only activate 1 "Swords at Dawn" per turn.
RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: If you truly need an Equip Spell, this can help, especially since you can get around not being able to Special Summon by activating this during your opponent's turn but unless the Equip Spell has built-in protection, it's only on the field for one turn.
SHSP-EN065
Pot of Dichotomy
Normal Spell
At the start of your Main Phase 1: Target 3 monsters with different Types in your Graveyard; Shuffle all 3 into the Deck, then draw 2 cards. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this card.
SECRET RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: The more popular Pot of Avarice has been sent on the Tour Bus to Forbidden Realms and this card tries to replicate PoA's effect in a more watered down fashion but nothing quite beats the original.
SHSP-EN064
Vampire Kingdom
Field Spell
Zombie-Type monsters gain 500 ATK during damage calculation only. Once per turn, when a card(s) is sent from your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard: Target 1 card on the field; send 1 DARK "Vampire" monster from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard, and if you do, destroy that target.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Zombies will get stronger when they battle or when attacking directly and you can get more Zombies in the Graveyard for easy revival later and destroying any card on the field but neither effect is greatly impressive.
SHSP-EN063
Bujin Regalia - The Mirror
Normal Spell
At the start of your Main Phase 1, if your opponent controls more monsters than you do and you control a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster: Until the end of your opponent's next turn, Spell/Trap Cards, and their effects, cannot be activated.
RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: It must be the first thing you do after your Standby Phase and your Bujins need to be outnumbered on the field but then you might be able to turn things around but you cannot power your Bujins up as easily for a more sure-fire way to defeat your opponent's monsters.
SHSP-EN062
Ghostrick Mansion
Field Spell
Monsters cannot attack face-down Defense Position monsters, but can attack directly if all monsters their opponent controls are in Defense Mode face-down. All effect damage, and battle damage inflicted by monsters other than "Ghostrick" monsters, is halved.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: The key to any Ghostrick deck as they get full protection from attacks and can deal full damage through its effect whereas their enemies cannot but unless you have it, the cards are vulnerable.
SHSP-EN061
Dragon Shield
Equip Spell
Equip only to a Dragon-Type monster. It cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. Neither player takes any battle damage from attacks involving it.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: Its host cannot deal battle damage when battling a monster but can deal direct damage if attacking directly and gets full protection from destruction!
SHSP-EN060
Battlin' Boxing Spirits
Normal Spell
Send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard, then target 1 "Battlin' Boxer" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position. You can only activate 1 "Battlin' Boxing Spirits" per turn.
SUPER RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: The cost is minimal and you do get a monster out of the deal but you'll probably have to use it for something or it'll get destroyed as it comes back in Defense Mode.
