Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 89)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side of Dimensions (4)
Warrior's Devotion
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares a direct attack. Send 1 Warrior-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard to have the attacking monster lose ATK equal to the sent monster's ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: We actually already have this in the form of Nitwit Outwit, which is also not specific as to when it can be acttivated, what monster can be discarded and even whose monster it can be used on.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side of Dimensions (2)
Dragon's Orb
Anime Normal Trap
During this turn, Dragon-Type monsters you control cannot have their effects negated.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It only lasts one turn and will be slower to activate than as a Spell Card but being able to activate Dragon-Type monster effects without much interference is nice, especially since only yours get the benefit.
Cubic Ascension
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Special Summon 1 "Vijam the Cubic Seed" from your Deck and make it the attack target instead.
COMMON
Rating: 3
Comments: It brings out a decent monster regardless of how many monsters or what else you have out. Perhaps the only worthwhile Cubic support card IMO.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side of Dimensions (1)
Enhanced Counter
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when you would take Battle Damage. The Battle Damage you take becomes 0 and 1 monster you control gains ATK equal to the Battle Damage you would've taken during this Battle Phase only.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It'd only be good during your turn since we don't get the luxury of counterattacking against an opponent's monster. Besides, unless you're going to take major damage, the boost probably won't be much anyway.
Time Chain
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when a monster you control is selected as an attack target. Those monsters cannot be destroyed by that battle and are treated as not being on the field until the 2nd Standby Phase of the 2nd player. Monsters affected by this effect cannot attack, activate their effects, cannot be attacked or be targeted by card effects. Destroy this card during your opponent's 2nd Standby Phase after activation.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Although this card was used in a simulated Duel, it proves to be a pretty poor choice because it's a double-edged sword. One would be better off using Shadow Spell or even Spellbinding Circle.
Dark Sacrifice
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a monster you control would be destroyed by an opponent's Spell or Trap Card. Send Level 3 or lower DARK monster from your Deck to the Graveyard to negate the activation of that Spell or Trap Card and destroy it.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: A small price to pay for saving your monster from destruction but it doesn't work against all 3 types of effects and you're forced to send a specific DARK monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.
Episode 146: Forever ZEXAL
Memories of Courage
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 "Number" Xyz Monster you control that has no Xyz Materials and has battled a "Number" Xyz Monster your opponent controls that has no Xyz Materials previously this turn. It gains 500 ATK for each "Number" monster in either player's Graveyard, until the End Phase. This turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle and if it doesn't inflict any battle damage to your opponent after destroying an opponent's monster by battle this turn, it can  attack once again in a row.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: All the positive effects of this card are offset by all the requirements you have to meet and none of it lasts very long.
Hyper-Rank-Up-Magic Ultimate Force
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 "Utopic" Xyz Monster you control. Xyz Summon 1 Rank 10 "Number" monster from your Extra Deck by using the selected monster as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) Then, attach this card to the Summoned monster as an Xyz Material.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It has to be a Utopic Xyz Monster but it doesn't mater which one you pick, though you're limited to Ranking up to Rank 10 Number monsters.
Danger Draw
Anme Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster whose ATK is higher than your Life Points declares a direct attack. Draw 1 card and reveal it. If it is a Trap Card, negate the attack, then you can activate that Trap Card.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: The risk is far too high for this to be worthwhile, especially since the Trap Card you draw (which is already a 1-in-3 chance) may not be able to be activated.
Episode 145: Outclassed and Outmatched
Overlay Accel
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an Xyz Monster you control destroys an opponent's monster by battle. You can detach 1 Xyz Material from that face-up Xyz Monster. It can attack once again in a row.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Xyz Monsters do have the potential to win battles more easily given their general high ATK but to get that 2nd attack, you have to detach an Xyz Material from it but you might as well use Blade Armor Ninja for that.
Rank Revolution
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only if the only monster you control is 1 face-up Xyz Monster. Select that monster. While that monster is face-up on the field, negate the effects of all other face-up monsters on the field whose Rank or Level is higher than that monster's Rank, and those monsters cannot select the targeted monster as an attack target. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It can be effective if you have a high-rank Xyz Monster but that means also generally putting in the effort to get that monster out and this card goes if that Xyz Monster goes. Plus it's generally pretty risky to have only one monster out.
Number Fortification
Anime Equip Spell
Equip only to a "Utopic" monster you control. It gains 1500 ATK. When this card is activated, you can attach 2 "Number" monsters from your Extra Deck to the equipped monster as Xyz Material.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It gives any Utopia monster 1500 ATK and 2 Xyz Materials from your Extra Deck but those have to be Number monsters.
Rank-Down-Magic Utopia Fall
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when a "Number" Xyz Monster you control is destroyed. Select that monster, then Xyz Summon 1 Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck with a lower Rank than that monster, by using it as the Xyz Material.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Most Xyz Monsters with lower Ranks are generally weaker but some aren't all that bad and this doesn't restrain you to any particular archetype.
Light Wing Bumper
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only during the Battle Phase when a monster's attack is negated. Until the end of the this turn, negate the effects of all monsters your opponent controls, and all monsters your opponent controls lose 800 ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: The ATK loss doesn't last long but affects all your opponent's monsters once a monster's attack is negated.
Absolute Buster
Anime Normal Trap
This turn, negate the effects of Spell or Trap Cards that would negate an attack and/or prevent a card(s) from being destroyed.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It doesn't guarantee an interruption-free attack but it does reduce the odds of the attack being interrupted.
Heat & Heal
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Select the 1 "Number" monster you control with the lowest Rank (if it is a tie, you get to choose). Gain Life Points equal to that monster's ATK, then attach this card to it as an Xyz Material.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You'll probably get a decent LP boost and then your monster gets a free Xyz Material but it's still limited to Number monsters and those don't make up a big part of Xyz Monsters.
Gagaga Mirror Slash
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Select 1 "Gagaga" monster you control. Until the end of this turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle, and if it battles an opponent's monster, its name and ATK become the respective name and ATK of your opponent's battling monster, and each time it destroys an opponent's monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Not many Gagaga monsters have the ATK to take out an opponent's monster but if they do manage with help, this isn't too bad but the effects only last one turn.
Gagagamirage
Anime Continuous Trap
If a "Gagaga" monster you control is used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon, you can treat it as 2 monsters. Once per turn, if you use this effect, you can ignore the Attribute and Type requirements for the Xyz Material of the Xyz Monster you are attempting to Summon.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's nice that I can bypass some requirements for an Xyz Monster so I can Xyz Summon it more easily but Type and Attribute aren't required in a lot of Xyz Monsters and the 1st effect is restricted to Gagaga monsters.
Episode 144: Last First Duel (Continued)
Grave Chaos
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Select 1 Xyz Monster in your Graveyard that was sent to the Graveyard during the Battle Phase. Special Summon 1 "C" monster from your Extra Deck with the same Rank as that monster. Its effects are negated.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Not much of a point in bringing out an Xyz Monster that can't do much on the field and even using it for a Rank-Up-Magic card doesn't buy you many uses either.
Rank-Up-Magic Dark Force
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when an Xyz Monster you control destroys an opponent's monster by battle. Select that face-up Xyz Monster you control and send it to the Graveyard, then Special Summon 1 Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck that is 1 Rank higher than the sent monster, in face-up Attack Position and 1 Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck that is 2 Ranks higher than the sent monster, in face-up Defense Position. Their effects are negated. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon.)
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Not really much better than Double-Rank-Up-Magic Utopia Force because instead of losing your old Xyz Monster's materials, you're losing the Xyz Monster itself, essentially trading it for two that don't likely get to use their effects.
