Episode 144: Last First Duel
In the skies above, Vetrix and Yuma's dad see the results of Yuma's victory and can owe it (mostly) to Yuma so Vetrix disappears until he's needed again. Down below, Yuma mourns the loss of Shark/Nash before Flip returns, muttering something strange that gets Tori's attention. One-by-one, the others that were lost return too. At sunrise the next day, Yuma reunites with Caswell, Cathy and many others but not everyone has come back. Rio, Shark and Kite are still missing and Yuma puts guilt on himself for starting to duel. Astral rises into the air and releases the Number Cards gathered, summoning Number 100 as a result. The duo have completed their mission so now Astral wants to eliminate Barian World in spite of the sacrifice Shark made. Nothing Yuma says changes Astral's mind so Astral asks Yuma if he wants to duel and Yuma agrees in spite of lacking all Number Cards. The duel is set for that night in the courtyard where their very first duel begain so Astral heads out without another world.
The duo head to their respective homes and Yuma begins looking through his Deck, wondering if he can really build it to beat Astral, knowing that regardless of the outcome, it's their last duel together ever. Meanwhile, Yuma's father sees Astral looking glum for someone that just saved the world and doesn't seem to mind that Astral has not only broken Yuma's heart but forced him to duel. Perhaps there's more to this duel than just the destruction of Barian World? Back home, Yuma gets focused but Anna Kaboom bursts through the wall with the others coming in shortly after, here to help Yuma and support him for the upcoming duel. While Kari discusses the matter of dueling with Haru, things have been patched up with Yuma's house and the group have headed to the roof to discuss the building of Yuma's Deck, including to offer up their cards to help.
Yuma appreciates the offer but declines it, saying he has to do this on his own with his own cards. Yuma's friends are fine with Yuma's decision but warn not to come after them when he loses. That evening, Yuma and Tori are walking along as Tori brings up the duel and the excitement that awaits but Yuma has a secret that Tori agrees to keep. Having told the secret, Yuma and others arrive at the duel, most of whom are unaware of what's really at stake. While Quinton ponders why he has an uneasy feeling about the duel, duel preparations get underway down below before Yuma draws and plays Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode. Next, he sets 3 cards to end his turn, leaving Astral puzzled as to why Yuma would play Gogogo Golem in Attack Mode. Nevertheless, he draws and plays Parallel Unit to Special Summon itself as a copy of GG. Next, he activates Summon Overlay to use it and PU as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode.
Now, Astral decides to take Utopia to its fullest with Double-Rank-Up-Magic Utopia Force to Special Summon Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray Victory (Number C39: Utopia Ray Victory in the CG) (2800) and Number 39: Utopia Beyond (3000) in Attack Mode and give each of them one of Utopia's Xyz Materials. After that, Astral activates Utopia Beyond's effect to make GG's ATK 0. Yuma is ready however and activates Guardraw to switch GG to Defense Mode, then draw 1 card. While Trey and Quattro applaud Yuma for his move, Quinton isn't so sure it'll work and Astral proves it won't by attacking with Utopia Ray Victory, letting him detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate GG's effects and prevent Yuma from actviating Spell or Trap Cards during this attack. As a result, Astral takes out GG with Utopia Ray Victory, letting Yuma activate Guard Go! to Special Summon Gogogo Golem from the Graveyard along with Dododo Warrior (900) and Gagaga Magician (1000) in Defense Mode from his hand.
Since Utopia destroyed a monster, Astral activates Rank-Up-Magic Dark Force to send Utopia to the Graveyard and replace it with Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray V (Number C39: Utopia Ray V in the CG (2600) in Attack Mode and Number 25: Force Focus (2400) in Defense Mode. Worse still, Astral activates Grave Chaos to Special Summon Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (Number C39: Utopia Ray in the CG (2500) in Attack Mode since Utopia was sent to the Graveyard. Finally, Astral activates Utopia Beyond's effect to remove from play Number 25 and revive Number 39: Utopia from the Graveyard and gain LPs equal to half its ATK, raising his score to 5250. Trey realizes that this duel isn't exactly fair and now Yuma's friends are getting suspicious regarding Astral's behavior. Only Yuma and Tori are aware of the secret but Astral's first two attacks take out Gogogo Golem while the 3rd leaves Yuma on the ground and down to 1400 LPs. Yuma strains to get up while Astral simply glares at him. What will Yuma do next?
