Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 84)
*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 131: Power Play
Nightmare Xyz Anime Normal Trap Activate only during the End Phase if a "Number" monster under your control was destroyed this turn. Select 1 Rank 4 or lower DARK Fiend-Type Xyz Monster in your Extra Deck, then Special Summon from your Graveyard, a number of DARK monsters that have Levels, equal to the number of Xyz Materials required to Xyz Summon that monster. Their Levels become equal to the Levels of the Xyz Materials required to Xyz Summon that monster. After that, Xyz Summon that monster using those monsters only. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Both the activation requirements and resolution are pretty strict, which makes it even harder to pull this off but it's not bad if you do. |
Star Seraph Starscream Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only when a monster your opponent controls is destroyed and you control a "Star Seraph" monster. Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Star Seraphs basically guarantee you'll have one of them out so this'd get some use but for the activation requirements, 1000 damage isn't much on its own. |
Blizzard Vision Anime Continuous Spell Activate only by selecting 1 WATER monster you control. Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster with the same Type, Attribute, and Level as that monster (ATK 0/DEF 0). (This card is also still a Spell Card.) COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It only works with WATER monsters but in a Deck based around them, this wouldn'r be too bad, though a buff would make it more playable. |
Episode 130: Fists of Fury (2)
Emperor's Armor Anime Equip Spell If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster, its ATK becomes equal to the ATK of that opponent's monster. If the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle, you can send this card to the Graveyard instead. If this effect is used during your Battle Phase, you can switch the ATK of the monster that was equipped with this card with the ATK of 1 of your opponent's face-up monsters, then that monster can attack once again during this Battle Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It basically allows the equipped monster to survive a battle and prevent you from taking damage but it's the other effect that helps more. |
Dimensional U-Turn Anime Normal Trap Select 1 of your removed from play monsters. Special Summon that monster but remove from play that monster during the End Phase of this turn. You can remove from play this card from your Graveyard to remove from play 1 monster you control until the End Phase of this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It's pointless even in Decks that revovlve around cards being banished. |
Episode 129: Fists of Fury (1)
Xyz Pieces Anime Counter Trap Activate only when a face-up Xyz Monster you control is selected as an attack target. Negate the attack, then you can Tribute that Xyz Monster to Special Summon 2 Level 1 monsters from your Deck in face-up Attack Position. Their effects are negated. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | I can't see any good reason to use this. Most Xyz Monsters are far stronger than most Level 1 monsters and that's even with effects. Even using this to bring out two copies of Copycat isn't really worth it. |
Episode 128: Settling the Score (2)
Atlandis Invitation Anime Continuous Trap Activate only if you control an "Atlandis" monster. During each of your opponent's End Phases, destroy all face-up Attack Position monsters your opponent controls that did not attack this turn, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to the combined ATK of the destroyed monsters on the field. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Like Monopole Chain, there simply isn't many monsters that meet this card's requirements (unless they accept the Atlantean monsters we already have out but even that doesn't make for may uses) so it'd be practically useless in most cases. |
Monopole Chain Anime Continuous Trap Activate only if you control a "Dyson" monster. Monsters your opponent controls cannot attack. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Currently only Number 9 and Number C9 meet this card's requirements, even in the anime, and both are pretty hard to Summon but if we get others, then maybe this'd see play. |
Damage Alteration Anime Continuous Trap Activate only if you would take damage from a card effect Make that damage 0, then Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck with ATK equal to the damage you would have taken. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | This doesn't offer your opponent any possible benefits but unless you're going to take major effect damage, you won't get much of a monster out of this. |
Damage Rebound Anime Counter Trap Activate only when an effect that would inflict damage to a player(s) is activated. That damage becomes 0 and your opponent shuffles 1 face-up card they control into the Deck, then, if that card was a monster on the field, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK on the field. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | You'd probably only negate the damage because the other effect is obviously something your opponent will try to avoid losing a monster and LP. |
Rank-Up Return Anime Normal Spell Select 1 "Rank-Up-Magic" card in your Graveyard. Add that card to your hand. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Only one or two Rank-Up-Magic cards are worthwhile but this doesn't cost anything to get you either of them. |
Number Lifter Anime Normal Trap Select 1 "Number" monster in your Graveyard. Special Summon that monster. Its effects are negated. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Even Xyz Reborn is better given that you automatically get an Xyz Material out of the deal and no side-effects. |
Episode 127: Settling the Score (1)
Tachyon Flare Wing Anime Continuous Trap Activate only when your opponent Special Summons an Xyz Monster. Select 1 "Galaxy-Eyes" monster you control and equip it with this card. Negate the effects of all face-up Xyz Monsters your opponent controls. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, you can send this card to the Graveyard instead. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | You don't need a Galaxy-Eyes Xyz Monster out but you're still required to control a Galaxy-Eyes monster but for that, you do get two perks out of it, even if they aren't all that good. |
Ergosphere Anime Normal Spell Activate only if you control "Schwarzchild Limit Dragon". Add 1 "Schwarzschild Limit Dragon" from your Deck to your hand. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Our Schwarzchild Limit Dragon isn't even worth using so there's no point in getting a 2nd one. |
Spell Summon Stopper Anime Normal Spell During the next turn, your opponent cannot Normal or Special Summon, or Set, any monsters, using the effect of a Spell Card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | Spell Cards are the easiest way to Special Summon outside of a monster's effect and this stops them from doing any Summons or Sets with them. |
Epsiode 126: Farewell for a Friend
Gimmick Vengeance Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only when the number of Xyz Materials attached to a face-up Xyz Monster your opponent controls is changed by a card effect, except the effect of an Xyz Monster. Select 1 "Gimmick Puppet" monster you control. Inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK. If this is the only card in your hand, you can activate this card from your hand during either player's turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Really won't mean much, even for the ATK damage because that's all the card does in response to the action that triggered its activation and only if your monster is a Gimmick Puppet monster, none of which are all that strong. |
Power Stream Anime Quick-Play Spell Select 1 WATER Xyz Monster that was Special Summoned during this turn's Battle Phase. Attach this card to it as an Xyz Material. If that monster attacks this turn, it gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation only. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Highly situational, especially since in order for your monster to attack without help from a card effect, that Xyz Monster, which must also be WATER, will have to be Special Summoned during your Battle Phase. Plus the ATK boost likely won't mean a thing if the Xyz Monster is Special Summoned during your opponent's Battle Phase as they generally can't attack during that time. |
Cross Draw of Destiny Anime Normal Spell Both players draw 1 card and reveal it, then if either of those cards was a monster, each player Special Summons their monster to their opponent's side of the field in face-up Defense Position and the Summoning player(s) gains Life Points equal to the ATK of the monster they Summoned. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | While there's potential to gain a large amount of LP, that's not a guarantee. In fact, it's not a guarantee that either of you will draw a monster, let alone one that can be Special Summoned with this. |
Overlay Award Anime Continuous Trap You can detach 1 Xyz Material from a face-up Xyz Monster you control, then attach it to a face-up Xyz Monster your opponent controls as an Xyz Material. After that, skip this turn's Battle Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | So long as Threatening Roar and other better cards are legal, this card will have no use in any Deck as you're doing more harm than good yourself. |
Triangle Gimmick Box Anime Normal Spell Select 3 Xyz Monsters in your Graveyard. Remove from play those monsters, then Special Summon 1 Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck. Its effects are negated. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Perhaps one of the worst cards capable of reviving an Xyz Monster. The odds are quite slim you'll have lost 3 Xyz Monsters by the time you draw this and your new one is basically a sitting duck. |
