Mosquito Commando

If you control a "Number 2: Ninja Shadow Mosquito", you can Tribute this card to place 1 "Hallucination Counter" on 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.

Comments: Even though Ninja Shadow Mosquito isn't that bad, the fact that this guy relies on it for its only effect and having such low stats are just too much for me to rate it any higher.
Micron Force
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only by selecting 1 face-up monster on the field. The original ATK of that monster is halved. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.

Rating: 2
Comments: Slower than Shrink but lasts while it's on the field and with cards like Imperial Custom, you can keep it out longer but the effect only works on one monster so despite being continuous, it won't help if a 2nd monster comes along.

This card cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. When this card is selected as an attack target, you can activate 1 of these effects. ● Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card. This card cannot be destroyed by that battle, you take no battle damage from that battle, and place 1 "Hallucination Counter" on 1 face-up monster on the field. The effects of monsters with a "Hallucination Counter" are negated. ● If this card is selected as an attack target by a monster with a "Hallucination Counter", this card cannot be destroyed by that battle, and your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from that battle.

Comments: It's weaker than Mosquito Force but at least has effects to somewhat help out and make up for the number of Xyz Materials it requires. Still, it's relient on its effects and will thus be crippled if they're negated.

Comments: There's enough leeway in the effect that I can give it 2/5 but even that doesn't mean it's all that good considering how few monsters we have to work with.

When this card is Normal Summoned, you can add 1 "Mosquito Force" from your Deck to your hand.

Rating: 1
Comments: He's no force to be recoked with, only ridiculed because the ATK and DEF are pretty feeble and the effect is no better.
Hologram Projection
Anime Continuous Spell
Activate only by selecting 1 face-up monster on the field. Special Summon this card with the same name, Type, Attribute, Level, ATK, and DEF as that monster. (This card is also still a Spell Card.) This card cannot attack. During either player's turn, when this card is selected as an attack target or card effect, destroy this card.

Rating: 3
Comments: It'll really help with Xyz Summoning, regardless of that monster's Level, especially since it's a Spell Card.

Select 1 "Gimmick Puppet" Xyz Monster you control. Special Summon 1 Xyz Monster from your Graveyard, then attach that monster and its Xyz Materials to the Special Summoned monster as Xyz Materials.

Comments: We'll need lower Ranked Gimmick Puppet Xyz Monsters because as it stands, we only have high-Ranked ones.
Cascade Barrier

Select 1 monster you control. It cannot be destroyed by card effects and its ATK becomes 0 until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: This is just like the Forbidden Quick-Play Spells in that you're needlessly sacrificing critical properties of your monster to protect it another way.
Jelly Hole
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when your opponent Special Summons a WATER Xyz Monster. Negate the effects of all face-up cards your opponent controls, until the end of the turn.

Comments: Clearly Chironex, the duelist that used these anti-WATER cards wouldn't fare to well in real life because these are highly situational. Still, this card isn't the worst or best we've seen.

During the turn this card was activated, each time a WATER monster(s) is Summoned, you can increase the Level of those WATER monsters by up to 2.

Comments: It can help with Xyz Summoning but you'll need multiple ways of Summoning first.  
Jelly Bind
Anime Continuous Trap
Activate only when you control a WATER monster. Select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. Its effects are negated and it cannot attack. When that is removed from the field, destroy this card.

Comments: A WATER Deck can make the most of this card because it requires you to control one your field upon activation. For that requirement, you do basically cripple the affected monster.
Deep Current

Activate only when an opponent's monster declares a direct attack. Negate the attack and end the Battle Phase.

Comments: A card that activates for a direct attack better be worthwhile but this card is already outclassed by better cards.
Shade of Strings

Select 1 monster on the field. It cannot be destroyed by card effects. During your Draw Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, instead of conducting your normal draw, you can add it to your hand.

Comments: It works on any monster on the field but apart from that, doesn't really do anything useful.  
Jelly Rain

All face-up monsters on the field become WATER monsters.

Comments: It has its uses but while the odds are good you'll see a non-WATER Deck, this also gives your opponent's the same benefits yours get.  
Receding Tide

When a monster is Set, change that monster to face-up Defense Position. (Flip Effects are not activated.)

Comments: This locks both players from Setting monsters but with Link Monsters now being a thing, this card probably won't see as much play as it would've when it first appeared in the anime.

Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can select 1 WATER monster on the field and destroy it, then inflict damage to the controller equal to its ATK. If this card is destroyed, you can Special Summon a number of "Number 4: Stealth Kragen" or "Kragen Spawn" from your Extra Deck or Graveyard, except this card, equal to the number of Xyz Materials that were attached to this card, then attach the Xyz Materials in your Graveyard that were attached to this card to the Special Summoned monster(s) as Xyz Materials.

Comments: It's basically Number 4: Stealth Kragen with slightly different effects as its stats, Attribute and required materials are identical.

Select 1 "Gimmick Puppet" monster you control and destroy it, then draw 1 card.

Comments: Gimmick Puppets proved to live up to their name but that meant they were mediocre at best. This wouldn't be enough to make them top tier.
Number 4: Stealth Kragen

This card cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can select 1 WATER monster on the field and destroy it, then inflict damage to the controller equal to its ATK on the field. Comments: It's really only good against WATER Decks, which means you  have a 1 in 6 chance of finding one and even then, this guy's stats aren't all that good for its required Xyz Materials.
Silent Sea Nettle
WATER / Aqua / Level 4 / ATK 800 / DEF 1300
If you control a WATER monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's pretty easy to get a WATER monser out, especially with all the support for it but it doesn't offer much aside from the effect.
Stinging Jellyfish
WATER / Aqua / Level 4 / ATK 800 / DEF 800
If this card is selected as an attack target, destroy that monster without applying damage calculation.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: If you can force your opponent to attack it, then it'll be gone without dealing you any damage, provided it doesn't have destruction prevention. Even so, it's very weak and doesn't have any other effects, which is sad for a Level 4 monster.
