Episode 116: Now or Never (1)
We find a strange airplane traveling through a blizzard and the pilots know that they won't deliver anything witthout finding the landing strip. Luckily, things clear enough for them to find it and the head down. Meanwhile, Heartland is shocked that Erazure and Chironex lost but a voice, revealing himself as the Scritch assures he'll be the one to turn their luck arounnd and heads off. Meanwhile, Yuma has finished his apparently new daily search of Heartland City with confidence but Trey doesn't think Yuma is fine. Yuma's mood changes but does his best to hide it as his friends watch from behind a gate. Flip appears and eventually gets the news about what he's created, a memorial for Astral. Bronk finds it to be a completely useless idea and grabs Flip, only to find Flip is in tears as he considered Astral his friend even though he couldn't really see him.
Bronk lightens up as they all remember the first time Astral appeared, which brings Tori and Cathy nearly to tears. It's exactly why Flip made it, so they could remmber all the times they had with Astral, good, bad or even funny. That night, Trey goes to Yuma's room to bring him down for dinner but Yuma is instead on the roof, thinking of Astral. The next day, Yuma and Tori discuss the off screen duel before Yuma looks through his Deck at his house. One of his choices is mentally accepted as good but Astral isn't really there so Yuma presses on. Inside the room he's staying in, Trey discusses the matter with Quattro but has no idea if they'll be able to get him back. While Quinton and Kite have arrived at their desired location through the blizzard conditions, Yuma has once again confirmed that the city is safe but Trey doesn't share the happiness.
That evening, the duo are walking along when Yuma spots his friends and isn't happy that they're following him, even if it's to make sure he's okay. The way Yuma is acting has everyone believing that Yuma won't accept that Astral is gone. Furthermore, all the places Yuma checks daily are places he dueled with Astral. Yuma should face-up to the fact that Astral is gone but Yuma refuses and darts off. When he finally stops, he's at the place where Astral first appeared. Yuma's friends catch up but Yuma wants to be left alone and won't stop until he finds Astral. It's what Kite wanted to hear as he approaches. To their surprise, Kite is willing to help Yuma find Astral using his airship. Once on board, Yuma and Tori learn just how important Astral is now more than ever. They need him to find the Numeron Code before the Barians get to it.
Luckily, Kite has found a way to get to Astral World and Scritch has also gotten aboard to learn about this secret before leaving a bite on Kite that Kite shrugs off. They arrive at the airstrip in front of a teleporter, where Kite explains that the coins are made from Astralite, a material from Astral World that has immense power they can use to open the portal. However, a voice calls out to Kite. It's Quinton, whom had told Kite not to bring Yuma along but Kite chose not to listen. Had Qunton told Yuma, Yuma would insist on going but nothing had been tested and it could be a one-way trip. Regardless, it's a risk Yuma is willing to take but it takes Tori's words for Quinton to accept Yuma's wish. With that, Yuma moves to the start of the portal where he's warned that they don't know how long they can keep the portal open but fear that Yuma may never return if it closes.
The preparations get underway and Yuma stays put. At 55% charged, the power fails so Kite gets Orbital to generate the necessary power from his own system but he can't handle it either. Worse still, Scritch has arrived with the intent on stopping their plans so Kite agrees to duel since Yuma has to stay put until the charging is complete. Quinton also agrees to duel so duel preparations get underway but Yuma gives Quinton his Number card back, thinking it will come in handy. Quinton thanks Yuma and agrees that it will indeed come in handy. Quinton starts the duel by Special Summoning Deep Space Cruiser IX (by sending a Machine-Type monster in his hand to the Grave but they don't tell you that) (900) in Attack Mode. Then he uses Hologram Projection to create an exact duplicate of Cruiser IX, giving him 2 Level 9 monsters. With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 9: Dyson Sphere (2800) in Attack Mode to end his turn. Scritch knows that it'll just fall harder but Quinton assures that won't happen.
Kite draws and Special Summons Photon Thrasher (2100) in Attack Mode (as he controls no monsters but they don't tell you that either). Next he plays Photon Chargeman (1000) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to double its ATK to 2000. Then he Tributes his monsters for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode and ends his turn. Scritch has the fear and Galaxy-Eyes where he wants and draws before playing Mosquito Force (200) in Attack Mode. Due to MF's effect, Scritch gets another copy to his hand. Next he plays Ninjitsu Art of Mosquito March to Special Summon 2 more Mosquito Forces, leaving Kite and Quinton to realize what's next. Sure enough, Scritch uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 2: Ninja Shadow Mosquito (0000) in Attack Mode but it's nowhere to be found yet Scritch assures they'll soon find out how powerful it really is!
