Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 8)
*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 165: Deck of Armor
Summon Dice Anime Normal Spell Pay 1000 Life Points and roll a six-sided die. ● 1 or 2: Special Summon up to 2 Level 4 or lower monsters from your hand. ● 3 or 4: Select and Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard. ● 5 or 6: Special Summon 1 Level 5 or higher monster from your hand. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | For a mere 1000 LP, you either get up to 2 monsters from your hand or a monster from your Graveyard. Not bad for a gamble. |
Psychic Armor Head EARTH / Machine-Type Armor / Level 4 / ATK 0 / DEF 500 During your Draw Phase, you can add 1 Armor monster from your Deck to your hand instead of conducting your normal draw. During your Standby Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. This card cannot attack. (Only 1 Armor monster can attack per turn. If you control 2 or more Armor monsters, and 1 is selected as an attack target, you can change the target to another Armor monster you control.) COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | There's very little point in bringing back a monster this weak by skipping your Draw Phase unless you're going to Tribute Summon and since this card offers nothing else aside from what its friends have, I cannot see any reason to give it any higher a rating. |
Episode 164: Reliving the Past
Excalibur Anime Equip Spell Double the equipped monster's original ATK. You must skip your Draw Phase each turn. If you draw a card(s), destroy this card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | Having to skip my Draw Phases is a bit of a downer but there are ways to draw cards and still keep this card out thanks to Armed Protector Dragon. |
Orichalcos Gigas When this card is destroyed, you can skip your next Draw Phase to Special Summon it immediately and have it gain 500 ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Dartz did have a strategy that used this card with Kyutora but since we don't have that card either, we're left with Spirit Barrier and that isn't as good. |
Episode 163: Self Destruction
Divine Wind Anime Counter Trap Activate only when an opponent activates a card effect that would inflict damage to you. You take no damage, and your opponent takes 500 damage plus the damage you would have taken, instead. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | The ultimate Counter Trap against burn damage because if you're about to take a lot, your opponent will take a bit more. |
Episode 162: On the Wrong Track (3)
Infestation Anime Normal Trap All face-up monsters lose 100 ATK. Then, each player takes 100 damage for each monster they control. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A real infestation is more powerful than this and thus this card wouldn't be worth the deckspace unless it gets a major buff. |
Poison Butterfly WIND / Insect / Level 7 / ATK 2700 / DEF 1800 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Parasite Caterpillar". This card's controller takes 500 damage during each of their End Phases. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A mere 500 damage will be no problem for your opponent unless they're low on LP but even then, they have a 2700 ATK beatstick they didn't really have to work for and can Tribute it for a better monster even if their LP is low. |
Celebration of Creation Anime Normal Trap Activate only if a monster is Special Summoned by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card. It is now the End Phase of this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | There's a multitude of ways to Special Summon with a Spell/Trap Card so this'd be good enough to use as is. |
Chain of the Underworld Anime Normal Trap Activate only when an opponent's monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. Special Summon that monster to your opponent's side of the field in Attack Position. It loses 700 ATK. Then, your opponent can draw 1 card. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Although Rex Raptor made use of it, it was only adding more work to achieve the same result as Joey had no monsters out apart from Red-Eyes so attacking directly would've won Rex the duel so unless this is buffed up, it's entirely pointless. |
Armored Centipede EARTH / Insect / Level 5 / ATK 1600 / DEF 1300 If this card destroys an Insect-Type monster by battle, it gains 500 ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Want to give a monster 500 ATK? Don't use this. |
Natural Selection Anime Normal Trap Activate only during your opponent's turn. Destroy 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, and Special Summon 1 "Selection Token" with the same Level, Type, Attribute, ATK, and DEF as the destroyed monster. The "Selection Token" is destroyed during the End Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | You could still use the new Token for a Tribute Summon or the like but if you don't it's gone and you're not much better off. |
Episode 161: On the Wrong Track (2)
Star Blaster Tribute 1 monster, then roll 1 six-sided die. Special Summon 1 monster from your hand whose Level equals the sum of the die result and the Tributed monster's Level. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | If you're lucky, you can get to play a high-level monster but this is pretty well outclased already due to Pendulum Summoning. |
Jurassic Heart Anime Counter Trap Negate the activation and the effect of a Trap Card that targets 1 face-up Dinosaur-Type monster you control and destroy it. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Cost-free but only works against Traps. |
Cell Division Anime Normal Spell Select 1 face-up Level 3 or lower Insect-Type monster you control. Special Summon 1 "Cell Division Token" that has the same original Level, Type, Attribute, ATK and DEF as the selected monster. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Level 3 or lower Insects are typically pathetic in stats and/or effect so using this card would prove you're desperate for an extra Tribute Summon or defense when better options exist. |
Horned Saurus DARK / Dinosaur-Type Fusion / Level 6 / ATK 2000 / DEF 1800 "Kaitoptera" + "Gilasaurus" During the turn this card was Fusion Summoned, it can attack your opponent directly. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Another prime example as to why Rex Raptor was such a failure as a duelist. |
Episode 160: On the Wrong Track (1)
Kaitoptera WIND / Dinosaur / Level 4 / ATK 1400 / DEF 1000 If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate the effects of Effect Monsters until the end of the Damage Step. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Rex was bitter over his defeat with Joey but it's easy to see why he lost because his arsenal of monster is more or less just as bad as this one. |
Parasite Caterpillar WIND / Insect / Level 3 / ATK 800 / DEF 800 If this card is selected as an attack target, equip this card as an Equip Card to the attacking monster after damage calculation. The equipped monster is treated as Insect-Type, and it cannot be Tributed or selected as an attack target. If the equipped monster is the only monster your opponent controls, monsters you control can attack your opponent directly. During your opponent's 3rd Standby Phase after this card was equipped to that monster, destroy the equipped monster and Special Summon 1 "Poison Butterfly" from your Deck to your opponent's side of the field. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | This card really goes to show how bad a duelist Weevil was because it's not only a feeble monster with just 800 ATK and DEF but attaches itself to the monster that attacks it and holds it captive, preventing it from being attacked or Tributed. Then when 3 turns pass, your opponent gets a 2700 ATK beatstick that they can use to pummel you with or Tribute it for something even stronger. |
Mimesis Anime Normal Trap Activate only when a face-up Insect-Type monster you control is selected as an attack target. Return that monster to the hand, and Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Insect-Type monster from your hand. That monster becomes the new attack target. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It's really more bait than anything else because you'll probably use a weaker monster to lure your opponent into attacking, then switch it out for a better monster but it could also work if your strong monster got weaker for whatever reason or isn't helping you the way you want it to. |
Pheromone Wasp WIND / Insect / Level 3 / ATK 800 / DEF 800 If this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent by a direct attack, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Insect-Type monster from your Deck at the end of the Battle Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A monster this weak has little chance of actually activating the effect without aid from a card effect because most of its opposition has higher ATK and even succeeding in the effect isn't that great either since you have to wait until the end of your Battle Phase to get your new monster and even if it's Insect Knight, you've proven to be that desperate to bring it out. |
