Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 66)
*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 30: No Tomato | |
Tomato Paradise Anime Field Spell When a player Normal or Special Summons a Plant-Type monster from their hand, they can Special Summon 1 "Tomato Token" (Plant-Type/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 0/ DEF 0) to their side of the field. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | This does help Plant-Type monster-centered Decks but not really much else. |
Episode 29: Love Hurts | |
Overlay Buster Anime Normal Trap Select 1 face-up monster you control. It gains 500 ATK during the Battle Phase only. Each time it destroys an opponent's Xyz Monster by battle this turn, inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each Xyz Material that was attached to that monster. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It'd probably have to be a pretty strong monster to take down an Xyz Monster, let alone more than that. Plus, the defeated Xyz Monster will probably need at least 2 materials attached upon its destruction in battle to make the damage worthwhile. |
Episode 28: Heavy Metal
Small Resistance Anime Normal Trap Activate only when your opponent's monster declares an attack. Select 1 Level 4 or lower monster with 1000 or less ATK in your Graveyard. Until the end of the Battle Phase, the attacking monster loses ATK equal to the selected monster's ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | The most you can have the attacking monster lose is 1000 ATK but the loss doesn't last long, unlike Miniaturize. |
Overhaul Anime Normal Spell Increase the Level of all face-up Machine-Type monsters you control by 1. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It can help with Xyz Summons but not unless some or all of your monsters have the same Level. |
Scrap and Build Anime Normal Spell Select 1 Level 3 or lower Machine-Type monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it. It cannot attack this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Since it's going to be Level 3 or lower, you'll probably be reviving a weak monster so you might as well put it in Defense Mode, especially since it can't attack right away. |
Mystical Donator LIGHT / Spellcaster / Level 2 / ATK 800 / DEF 800 Once per turn, you can make this card's ATK 0 until the End Phase, then apply 1 of these effects: ● Select 1 face-up monster you control. It gains 800 ATK until the End Phase. ● Gain 800 Life Points. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Cards like this have no situations where they're useful because any effects they have mitigate everything else and this guy has all the indicators of a poor monster. |
Strong Shovel Excavator EARTH / Machine / Level 3 / ATK 1800 / DEF 100 When this card is Special Summoned from the Graveyard: Increase its Level by 1. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | Most anime cards are quite situational given they're only useful at a specific time of activation but this card is good regardless of when it's played. |
Foreman's Fury Anime Normal Trap Select 1 face-up Machine-Type monster you control. This turn, monsters that battle the selected monster lose 1000 ATK. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | 1000 ATK is a respectable amount to drain from your opponent's monsters but it only works if the selected monster is attacked. |
Road Roller EARTH / Machine / Level 4 / ATK 600 / DEF 2100 If this card is attacked, flip the monster that attacked it to face-down Defense Position at the end of the Damage Step. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It will probably survive most attacks from monsters of the the same Level or lower but will also put the other monster face-down, making it more vulerable. |
Charging Construction Anime Normal Spell If you Normal Summoned a "Heavy Industry" monster this turn, Special Summon 1 "Heavy Industry" monster from your hand in face-up Defense Position. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry is the only monster we have out that can be used with this but while I rated that guy as poor, there could be monsters later on that are better. |
Episode 27: A Team Performance
Giant Hunter Anime Equip Spell If the equipped monster attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Battle Phase. If your Life Points are lower than your opponent's, the ATK of the equipped monster's attack target is halved until the end of the Battle Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | Worry-free attacks are always nice but while it doesn't protect against monster effects, it'll help you out even when your LP is low. However, the fact that you need low LP to obtain the last effect drops this card's rating to 3. |
All For One Anime Normal Spell Activate only when you control 2 monsters with the same Level and Type. Select 1 monster in your Graveyard with the same Type as those monsters and Special Summon it. Its Level is increased by 1. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | A bit specific but not so much so that you can't really do anything with it, though the 3rd monster has to have the same type as the other two and probably won't be useful for an Xyz Summon. |
Defending Sweeper EARTH / Warrior / Level 4 / ATK 100 / DEF 2000 While "Stadium of Dreams" is face-up on the field, this card's Level is increased by 1. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Defending is about all this monster is good for thanks to its 2000 DEF as it doesn't have any additional effect for when you don't have the necessary Field Spell out. |
Extra Blast Anime Quick-Play Spell Activate only when an opponent's monster is destroyed by a card effect. Inflict 500 damage to your opponent. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A mere 500 damage and no other bonues isn't worth waiting for an opponent's monsters' destruction by a card effect. |
Eye Contact Anime Normal Spell Return 1 "Offside Trap" from your Graveyard to your hand. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Eye contact in activities is very important but here, it's just a poor excuse to use an equally bad card. |
Top Scorer EARTH / Warrior / Level 5 / ATK 2000 / DEF 100 If "Stadium of Dreams" is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | A top scorer with those dismal stats and no bonus effects is not someone I want on my team as it'll do pretty much no good. |
Offside Trap Anime Normal Trap Activate only when a monster you control is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard and there are no other cards in your Spell & Trap Card Zone. Special Summon that monster from your Graveyard, negate any battle damage you would take from that battle, then it becomes the end of this turn. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It's more situational than Rope of Life or Time Machine because activating this needs your other Spell and Trap Card Zones to be empty, meaning this is a big risk. |
Perfect Pass Anime Normal Spell Select 1 face-up monster you control. Negate the effects of any monster it battles, also if it attacks an opponent's monster whose DEF is higher than that target's ATK, double the selected monster's ATK. These changes last until the End Phase. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Negating the other monster's effects isn't all that bad and it will surpass that monster's DEF regardless but the only way you'll deal with DEF is if the other monster is in Defense Mode. |
Wing Captain EARTH / Warrior / Level 4 / ATK 1100 / DEF 1100 While "Stadium of Dreams" is face-up on the field, during battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | 1100 ATK isn't much to work with when inflicting piercing battle damage, especially compared to monsters that also have this effect but with more ATK and don't need a sub-par Field Spell to obtain the ability. |
Stadium of Dreams Anime Field Spell When this card is activated, flip all face-down Defense Position monsters on the field to face-up Defense Position. Flip Effects are not activated at this time. COMMON |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Apart from rendering any Flip monsters' effects useless, this really doesn't do any good. |
