Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 5)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 132: Clash in the Coliseum (4)
Magical Trick Mirror
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Activate 1 Spell Card from your opponent's Graveyard.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You have to wait until your opponent attacks and while there could be a good Spell Card to use, that's up to your memory and there actually being a good Spell Card to pick from.

Card of Demise
Anime Normal Spell

Draw cards until you have 5 cards in your hand. During your 5th Standby Phase after activation, send all cards in your hand to the Graveyard.

COMMON

Rating: 4
Comments: One of the most overpowered cards in the anime because you're drawing additional cards at no charge or activation requirements and you have 5 turns to use all the cards but by then you may not have much to lose at all!
Episode 131: Clash in the Coliseum (3)
Spell Textbook
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Discard all cards in your hand, then draw 1 card and reveal it. If that card is a Spell Card, activate it.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Being a Quick-Play Spell does nothing to offset what you're required to do before you have a 1 in 3 chance of drawing a Spell Card and that makes it even worse than Power Balance.
Necromancy
Anime Normal Spell
Select up to 4 random monsters from your opponent's Graveyard, and Special Summon them in face-up Defense Position on your opponent's side of the field. If a monster(s) Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed, all face-up monsters your opponent controls lose 600 ATK for each of these monsters until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: You're reviving four random monsters from your opponent's Graveyard and bringing them back to your opponent's field and all your opponent has to do is keep them from being destroyed that turn and they can do whatever they want with them.
Power Balance
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack while you have no cards in your hand and your opponent has an even number of cards in their hand. Your opponent discards half the cards in their hand. Then, draw cards equal to the number of cards your opponent discarded.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: You're risking everything by having no cards in your hand when your opponent is attacking and while they lose half their cards and you draw that amount, there's no guarantee that you'll be better off.
Sword of Soul
LIGHT / Warrior / Level 4 / ATK 0 / DEF 1900
When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, 1 face-up monster you control gains 1000 ATK until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It could survive on its own for a little bit or if it gets destroyed, one of your other monsters gets a temporary ATK boost and it's searchable.
Thirst for Compensation
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when your opponent adds a card to their hand by a card effect. Special Summon up to 2 Level 4 or lower monsters from your hand in face-up Defense Position. Those monsters cannot change their battle positions or be Tributed for a Tribute Summon (or Set).
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: While activating this card would be pretty simple with today's cards, the end result isn't very good because while you get 2 new monsters out of it, you're restricted on what you can do with them.
Disgraceful Charity
Anime Normal Trap
Both players add all cards from their Graveyards that were discarded by the effect of a Spell Card activated this turn to their hands.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: With Card Destruction banned, this card won't get much use at all, especially since most cards discard for a cost.
Command Silencer
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack, then draw 1 card.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It doesn't do a whole lot more than cards like Draining Shield but it's a Quick-Play Spell that could help out.
Episode 129: Clash in the Coliseum (1)
Lullaby of Obedience
Anime Normal Spell
Pay 1000 Life Points and declare the card name of a Level 8 or higher Monster Card. If the declared card is in your opponent's Deck, add that card from their Deck to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Even if you're aware of one card in your opponent's Deck, that doesn't make it worthwhile to pay 1000 LPs to get it, especially if you cannot play it.

Spell Sanctuary
Anime Normal Spell

Both players select 1 Spell Card from their Decks and add it to their hand. Spell Cards added to the hand by this effect can be activated during either player's turn.

COMMON

Rating: 2
Comments: It's very risky to play because you're giving both players access to any Spell Card they want and allow them to use it during either player's turn.
Episode 127: The Darkness Returns (3)
Nightmare Mirror
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when your opponent declares an attack. Discard 1 card and negate the attack, then inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: There are far better ways to stop an attack, or even better get rid of the monster.
Episode 126: The Darkness Returns (2)
Dark Wall of Wind
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when your opponent declares a direct attack. Reduce all Battle Damage you take from direct attacks this turn to 0.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You could almost consider it better than Battle Fader except that Battle Fader also prevents any further attacks from your opponent that turn.
Episode 125: The Darkness Returns (1)
Plasma Eel
DARK / Machine / Level 4 / ATK 500 / DEF 1200
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. During either's player's turn, you can equip this card to 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. The equipped monster cannot be Tributed, and it loses 500 ATK during each of your opponent's End Phases.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Its effect prevents its destruction in battle and you can drain the equipped monster's ATK, not to mention reduce what your opponent can do with it but while equipped, it's not defending your Life Points.
Tribute Burial
Anime Normal Spell
Remove from play 1 Monster Card from each player's Graveyard. This turn, you can Normal Summon or Set 1 Level 5 or higher monster from your hand without Tributes.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This card can help but it'd be best used on Level 7 or higher monsters as they need two Tributes anyway. Otherwise, you're wasting more monsters than you need for a Level 5 or 6 monster.
Episode 123: Back to Battle City (2)
Attack Guidance Armor
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Make an opponent's monster the attack target, then calculate damage.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You may not have that many options when you draw this card but if you do, then this card wouldn't be all that bad.
Episode 118: Noah's Final Threat (2)
Flaming Fist
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 Spirit monster you control. It gains 200 ATK until the End Phase. If it inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, gain 500 Life Points.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Perhaps the worst Spirit monster support card because it gives its host a feeble temporary ATK boost and you an equally feeble LP boost and that's only if that monster inflicts Battle Damage.
Vessel of Illusion
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when a Spirit monster you control is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. Special Summon 1 "Spirit Token" that has the same original Level, Type, Attribute, ATK, and DEF as the destroyed monster.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Since Spirit monsters cannot be Special Summoned at all, this might be the next best thing, though there are ways to get more tokens on the field like with Scapegoat.
Groundbreaking
Anime Normal Trap
Select 1 Spirit monster in your Graveyard and return it to your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: This'd help Spirit monsters a little bit but not enough to make them really worth using.
Chaos Barrier Field
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when your opponent declares an attack. Negate the attack, then you gain control of your opponent's weakest Attack Position monster and have it battle your opponent's strongest Attack Position monster.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You not only stop the attack but force your opponent's strongest and weakest monsters to battle, yet since you're gaining control of the weaker monster, you're still likely taking Battle Damage.
