Episode 113: Memory Thief (2)
At the duel, Erazure is not only at a big advantage with 4 times the LPs that Yuma and Trey have but he's changing the rules to allow himself to attack on the first turn and thus end the duel quickly. Trey protests but Erazure draws and plays Oily Cicada (1000) in Attack Mode. Next, he Special SUmmons Dream Cicada (300) in Attack Mode (since he controls a face-up Attack Position Insect-Type monster but they don't tell you that). Furthermore, DC's effect switches OC to Defense Mode, allowing OC to count as 2 Xyz Materials for an Xyz Summon. With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 3: Cicada King (2500) in Defense Mode, the card Vector gave him. Yuma had thought that Erazure was going to attack ont he first turn but Trey says to be ready for anything as Erazure sets 2 cards to end his turn, confident they won't be able to defeat him.
Yuma's draw yields him Double or Nothing, a card used when Astral was still with him as they dueled Shark. Nevertheless, he puts that behind him and is determined to show Heartland that he can duel without Astral by playing Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode. Next he plays Kagetokage (1100) in Attack Mode as he just played a Level 4 monster. Now he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode in memory of Astral and hopes he's doing the right thing but Erazure is confident it won't last long on the field. Next he activates Reservation Reward, letting him reveal a Spell Card, then Set it on his field, leaving Erazure puzzled. Once he explains it, Yuma attacks with Utopia, then proceeds to detach an Xyz Material from it to negate the attack. However, Erazure is ready and uses Number 3's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate Utopia's effect.
As a result, the attack continues but due to Number 3's other effect, it gains 500 DEF to 3000. Now that its DEF is bigger than Utopia's ATK, Yuma takes the difference, bringing him down to 1500 LPs. It's just as Heartland thought. Yuma is nothning without Astral but Treay draws and plays Chronomaly Moai Carrier (900) in Attack Mode since he controls no monsters and his opponent has a monster out (though they don't tell you that either, though the real card just needs your opponent to control one card). Next, he Special Summons Chronomaly Winged Sphinx (1600) in Attack Mode (since he controls a Chronomaly monster but they don't tell you that, though the real card has a completely different effect). With that done, Trey uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech (2400) in Attack Mode.
Since it's not enough, Trey activates Chronomaly Pyramid Eye Tablet to give it and his other Chronomaly monsters 800 ATK to 3200. Furrthermore, Trey uses Number 33's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and deal Erazure the difrerence in its original ATK and current ATK. However, Erazure uses Number 3's effect to detach a 2nd Xyz Material from itself, gain 500 DEF to 3500 and negate Number 33's effect. After that, Trey uses RR's effect to set Heart of Stone on his field, then attacks, bringing him down to 1700 LPs. It was all part of Trey's plan as now RR's effect lets him activate the card he set with its effect, Heart of Stone, doubling Number 33's ATK to 6400 and letting it attack again with piercing battle damage since it didn't destroy Number 3 in battle. Erazure is ready and activates Cicada Illusion to equip Number 3 with it and prevent its destruction in battle, bringing Erasure down to 5100 LPs.
Trey sets 1 card to end his turn, returning Number 33's ATK to 3200, assuring that intimidation won't work on them. Erazure draws and switches Number 3 to Attack Mode. As a result, CI gives it ATK equal to its DEF, raising its ATK to 4700. His attack prompts Trey toa ctivate Orichalcum Mirage to redirect the attack to Machu Mech. As a result, Number 33 is destroyed and Trey is left on the ground and down to 200 LPs. Trey is willing to protect Yuma until his last LPs are gone, and this is enough to get Yuma's friends moving just a bit. However, Erazure protests that they've allowed themselves both to ensure their defeat and draws. Next he activates Final Cicada, which'll be sent to the Graveyard next turn, dealing Trey the same battle damage he took earlier. With that, he sets 1 card to end his turn but Yuma isn't about to give up and draws before wondering how he can win.
Erazure is confident that Yuma is finished regardless thanks to his face-down card, which'll activate the minute Yuma attacks. To Erazure and Heartlands' surprise, Yuma's friends start cheering Yuma on as Trey explains that Yuma's friends are too strong for Erazure to take down. It gets Yuma going as he activates Release, Reverse, Burst to send Utopia to the Graveyard and destroy Erazure's face-down card. (The real card is a Trap Card.) Next he Special Summons Gillagillancer (2200) to Trey's side of the field in Attack Mode (since he controls no monsters but, you gussed it, they don't tell you that). It'll cost Trey 500 LPs at the end of his turn but Trey won't betrey a friend so Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn. Trey has an idea of what Yuma is planning and draws before activating Orichalcum Chain to use Gillagillancer as Xyz Material as is. With that, Trey uses it as Xyz Material for Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis (3400) in Attack Mode.
Due to Number 6's effect, Trey can equip it with a Number monster in their Graveyard and gain its ATK. Trey equips it with Utopia, raising its ATK to 5900. His attack allows Yuma to activate Overlay Stopper to negate the attack. Since an attack was negated, Yuma activates Double or Nothing! to double Number 6's ATK to 11,800. Plus RR's effect doubles its ATK again to 23,600. Trey and Yuma's combined attack takes out Number 3 to not only win the duel and return Erazure to normal but get rid of Erazure and release the Number card. Heartland departs, declaring the battle not over yet. Yuma's friends come to but have no memories of why they're here but are surprised to see Yuma up and about. They head outside where Yuma thanks everyone before giving Trey the Number 3 card as a symbol of their friendship. Trey agrees to take good care of it before Yuma mentally wishes Astral could've been there and nearly lost everything because of his feelings but either way, Yuma misses Astral deeply.
