Episode 114: Tentacles of Terror (1)
In Barian World, Heartland is frustrated at how close Erazure came to defeating Yuma and Trey but Vector isn't happy either and wants to see action. Heartland brings up the next guy, claiming they can beat anyone and Vector holds Heartland up in the air to promise this to be true and to confirm they'll defeat Yuma. Vector releases his grip on Heartland, returning him to the ground, and suggests going after Yuma's friends as Yuma has proven to be too powerful and specifically targets Shark. He warns not to be disappointed again and Heartland agrees. That evening at the hospital, Shark is still trying to understand whether he and Rio are Barians or not given that Shark recalls everythng the two of them did as a family but yet the duel with Vector was so clear as well. At Yuma's house, Yuma, Trey and friends have arrived at dinner and Haru notes that there's plenty to go around.
Tori can't figure out why Trey is in Yuma's clothes so Trey explains that he didn't have a change of clothes. Plus, it's the perfect cover for Yuma himself, figuring the teacher won't notice the difference if they change Trey's hair. It'd been quite some time since Haru had seen Yuma smile while eating breakfast but Trey notes that the food is too good not to smile. However, they can't waste too much time eating when Heartland could be plannning something else. The only problem is, Shark and Kite cannot be contacted  as Shark spends time with Rio at the hospital and Kite is just outright ignoring Yuma. Trey suggests they see them to check up on them and head out just as rain begins to fall. Meanwhile, a nurse (presumably) named Dr. Bloom is on her way to a requested room when a mysteryous man appears and coats the floor with water. She tries to tell him off but he refuses and puts her to sleep before heading into Rio's room.
Yuma and the others arrive just as the man injects the same tentacles into Rio that took out the nurse, causing errors with the monitoring equipment. The man isn't phased but stops his proceedure and heads off to find Shark, declaring Yuma next. The group realize Shark is in danger and head to the entrance but Yuma is unable to get through. Shark is on the road apparently ignoring Yuma and realizing that it's just like when he was a child traveling with his sister and parents by car whereby they get into an argument and eventually a car accident. Since that day, nothing has been the same for Shark or Rio and Shark had to grow up fast for both their sakes. Yuma'fs friends are having no luck getting a hold of Shark or finding him otherwise but the rain stops and the clouds clear just as Shark arrives at his and Rios' old mansion house. Seeing it gives Shark an odd feeling but it's empty inside with furnature overturned.
Once in the living room, Shark recalls another moment in his past where he and Rio fight over a Big Jaws card given to him, resulting in another accident, this time with a suit of armor. He still has the scar from the accident and that's all the proof he needs but when he declares he couldn'tr be a Barian, a cackle interrupts him. It's the man from before and he eventually grabs Shark and takes him outside, demanding respect for being a Barian. Furthermore, Shark realizes he's not as healthy as he was just minutes ago and learns he's been poisoned just as Rio has. The only way Shark can save Rio is to defeat Chironex in a duel. Shark agrees but a voice calls out to him. It's Quattro and he was summoned in case Shark was in trouble, which he is. Shark protests that Quattro isn't needed but Quattro is dueling for Rio and Chiron protests that he's better than both of them so he gets them to agree with a two-on-one duel instead but notes that he'll have 8000 LPs while the two of them get 2000 each.
Quattro now has doubts that Chironex is so good but considers the duel to remain interesting with such high stakes. Chironex transforms before duel preparations get underway. They complete preparions just as Trey gets bad news from Quattro. While they figure that out, Shark draws and plays Saber Shark (1600) in Attack Mode before setting 1 card to end his turn. Quattro expected more but Shark assures there will be better ahead so Chironex doesn't want that to happen and draws. Next he plays Stinging Jellyfish (800) in Attack Mode. Then he Special Summons Silent Sea Nettle (800) in Attack Mode as he controls a WATER monster. With that, Chironex uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 4: Stealth Kragen (1900) in Attack Mode. Shark is struggling to remain standing and Quattro warned him about it but Shark protests he'll be fine.
Regardless, Chironex uses Number 4's effect to destroy Shark's Saber Shark as it's a WATER monster and deal Shark its ATK as damage, leaving Shark defenseless and down to 400 LPs. It'll take more than that to defeat Shark and Quattro but for now, Chironex sets 1 card to end his turn. Quattro draws and plays Gimmick Puppet Des Troy (1200) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Card of Puppets, letting him destroy  Des Troy, then draw 1 card. As a result, Des Troy's effect activates, letthing Quatrro Special Summon Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker and Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll (though their battle positions are unknown so I'm leaving out their stats). With that, he uses his Level 8 monsters as Xyz Material for Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder (1500) in Attack Mode and Yuma and Trey arrive in total shock to find Shark and not in a good state.
However, Quattro is focused on the duel and uses his monster's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itslf, destroy Number 4 and deal damage to Chironx equal to its ATK, leaving Chironex defenseless and down to 6100 LPs. However, when the smoke clears, Chironex has two new Kragen Spawn to take its place and now they'll get to see how these two monsters will overcome them!
