Episode 73: Kite's Plight (2) | |
At the duel, Kite is willing to make Yuma regret convincing him to resume the
duel and draws. Next he activates Card of Adversity
to draw 2 cards since Yuma controls a Special Summoned monster and he himself
does not. Then he activates Accellight to Special
Summon Daybreaker (1700) in Attack Mode since he
controls no monsters. Since Daybreaker was Special Summoned, Kite Special
Summons a 2nd copy, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for
Starliege Paladynamo (2000) in Attack Mode. It's
not enough to take down Utopia on its own so Kite uses SP's effect to detach an
Xyz Material from itself, make Utopia's ATK 0 and negate all other cards on the
field. (The real card requires you to detach 2 Xyz Materials and only negates
that one monster's effects.) His attack takes out Utopia to leave Yuma on the ground and down to 500 LPs. Yuma feels a comeback coming and despite Kite's protest, draws and activates Card of Spell Containment to draw 2 cards. Next he summons Gagaga Caesar (1800) in Attack Mode, then Special Summons Gagaga Clerk (400) in Attack Mode since he controls a Gagaga monster. After that, he uses Caesar's effect to remove from play the Ganbara Knight in his Graveyard to make the Levels of his monsters equal to that monster's Level, making them Level 4. (The real card only affects Gagaga monsters, which is what Yuma has out at this time.) With that done, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Heroic Champion - Excalibur (2000) in Attack Mode. His attack prompts him to use Excalibur's effect to detach its 2 Xyz Materials and double its ATK to 4000, then take out SP to leave Kite down to just 200 LPs. Yuma then ends his turn and for the first time in a while, Kite has a smile on his face, which is something Hart has never seen his brother do before. Packing a grudge, Kite draws and activates Galaxy Zero to Special Summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode without its effects. In addition, if GEPD attacks, it loses 800 ATK and does so, brining its ATK down to 2200 but still destroying HCE to leave Yuma down to 300 LPs. Finally, Kite sets 1 card to end his turn so Yuma draws and uses Gagagadraw to remove from play the three Gagaga monsters in his Graveyard to draw 2 cards. Then he activates Xyz Revival to revive Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. Knowing full well it's not enough to beat GEPD, Yuma uses Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (Number C39: Utopia Ray in the CG) (2500) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Utopia Ray's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, raise its ATK by 500 to 3000 and lower GEPD by 1000 to 2000. His attack forces Kite to uses GZ's other effect to send itself to the Graveyard, prevent GEPD's destruction in battle and make its ATK 0. As a result, Yuma now can't attack thanks to Zerozerock's effect. (The real card wouldn't work against Yuma because it only prevents the opponent from attacking monsters with 0 ATK.) Furthermore, since Utopia Ray didn't attack, Battle Gravity would force Yuma to take 1000 damage but Yuma activates Dimension Gate to remove from play Utopia Ray instead. Finally, Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn. Astral is impressed and wonders if Yuma even needs him to duel anymore but they're a team and Astral decides to duel that way anyway. Kite isn't convinced and draws before playing Galaxy Wizard (0000) in Attack Mode. Since GW counts as 2 Level 8 monsters for an Xyz Summon, Kite uses it and GEPD as Xyz Material for Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (4500) in Attack Mode. (The real GW can make itself Level 8 anytime but does not count as 2 monsters for an Xyz Summon.) However, using GW as Xyz Material costs NGEPD 2000 ATK, bringing it down to 2500. (The real GW doesn't have this effect either.) His direct attack forces Yuma to use DG's other effect to send itself to the Graveyard and return Utopia Ray to the field. As a result, both monsters are destroyed so Yuma activates Xyz Double Back to revive Utopia Ray and Utopia since his Xyz Monster was destroyed. The group's excitement turns to shock as Kite also activated Xyz Double Back to revive NGEPD and GEPD in Attack Mode. Kite's attacks take out Yuma's monsters to win the duel. Yuma remains on the ground for a bit before Kite helps him up and Kite is ready to take on Yuma anytime but Yuma must improve his dueling skills first. Kite and Orbital 7 head off while Yuma's friends celebrate the awesomeness of the duel. However, Yuma is too tired to share the excitement and falls asleep in Tori's arms, leaving Cathy jealous. Tori asks Astral on what to do but Astral says it's impossible to wake Yuma up. While Yuma literally dreams of dueling, Astral makes his latest observation. |
