Episode 74: Attack of the Barians (1) | |
At a new world, a member of a group discusses how their apparent plan failed
while another, revealing the first as Dumon, knows they cannot fail again. A
third knows they cannot get the numbers alone but Dumon says they don't have a
choice. Dumon tells another member, revealed as Alito, to go but Alito is in no
mood so he asks a fourth member that spoke before, revealed as Girag, whom is
also quite strong. Girag departs, assuring he'll get all the numbers and that's
what Dumon is counting on. After the new intro and theme song finish, we find
Yuma in a bit of deja-vu but it's only a dream that ends up sending him to the
floor and assuring it wasn't his fault, though Tori and the others aren not
convinced. A group of girls surround Yuma as if they're fans but all they want is for Yuma to get autographs from others. In Astral World, Astral places the remaining numbers collected so far but has no idea what the clues they hold mean. That evening, Yuma can't believe what happened to him and claims to have hated the attention he got. With no sign of Bronk or the others, Tori explains that the others wanted extra training and Yuma explains that Astral has been inside the key ever since the World Duel Carnival ended. Shark races towards them and manages to stop to explain why he's in such a hurry and thus has no time to duel. With that, he speeds off and we're taking to a gang that is likely responsible for news reports of car jackings. However, things are interrupted when a portal appears and what comes out gives Shark's sister Rio much discomfort. Girag appears and plays mind games with the mob before showing them a Spell Card of true power and what they can do to obtain it. While Astral continues to figure out what the Numbers are trying to tell him, Yuma, Shark and Tori arrive to learn that Rio is in much worse shape than she was a half an hour ago. Rio mutters that they're coming to take what is most valuable. Yuma recalls what that means for him but gets a call from the gang's leader, whom is holding Bronk captive and asks Yuma to come to their location with his Number cards. It's as Yuma feared and he asks Tori to hold onto the key as a safety precaution and heads out. A storm gathers as Yuma arrives to see all of his friends motionless on the ground until Bronk and Cathy come to. Yuma wouldn't abandon them but the one responsible makes himself known and that they need Numbers for Barian World. Duel preparations get underway before Astral senses the duel and cannot leave. Yuma's opponent draws and plays Djinn Cycle (400) in Attack Mode. Next he plays Dark Engineering to Special Summon another Djinn Cycle, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Mechquipped Angineer (1800) in Attack Mode. Yuma is confident he can take it down but since DC was Xyz Material, Yuma take 400 damage and two of them were used so he takes 800 damage, bringing him down to 3200 and Astral gets quite a jolt. With that, the Barian ends his turn and Yuma initially wishes for Utopia but knows he has to do this without Astral and draws. Astral knows Yuma is dueling and Utopia takes itself to Yuma's Deck. Yuma summons Goblindbergh (1400) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to Special Summon Bachibachibachi (800) in Attack Mode. Then he plays Plus Star 123 to give Bachibachibachi 1 Level to Level 4. Now he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode and the Barian is happy to see it. Nevertheless Yuma attacks with Utopia but the Barian activates MA's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, switch it to Defense Mode and prevent its destruction in battle. Due to BBB's effect, since it's Xyz Material, Utopia inflicts piercing battle damage when it attacks a Defense Position monster, leaving the Barian down by 1500 to 2500. Up above, Girag notices that Yuma is dueling well without Astral and Yuma ends his turn. The Barian laughs and draws before using Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to use MA as Xyz Material for Chaos Xyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral (CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral in the CG) (2600) in Attack Mode. Due to Barian's Force's effect, Djinn Angenral gets all of Utopia's Xyz Materials, giving it 4 and Utopia loses 300 ATK for each material it lost, bringing it down by 600 to 1900. (The real Barian's Force only takes one Xyz Material and doesn't lower the ATK of the Xyz Monster that lost the material.) Soon all of Yuma's Number cards will belong to Barian World! |
