Episode 49: Crestfallen | |
At the duel, Trey thinks Yuma is down for the count but Yuma staggers to his
feet and is ready to continue but Trey sets 2 cards to end his turn. Yuma draws,
determined to free Astral and uses Utopia as Xyz Material for
Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (Number C39: Utopia
Ray in the CG) (2500) in Attack Mode since he has less than 1000 LPs. (The real
card can be Xyz Summoned regardless of your LPs but won't be able to use its
effects unless you have 1000 or less LPs.) Next he uses
Overlay Eater's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play to
force Number 6 to lose its last Xyz Material and attach it to Utopia Ray. Then,
Yuma uses Utopia Ray's effect 3 times to detach all 3 of its Xyz Materials, give
itself 500 ATK for each one detached and have Atlandis lose 1000 ATK per Xyz
Material detached, giving Utopia Ray 4000 ATK and bringing Atlandis down to 2000
ATK. Yuma can duel this way because Astral never left. His attack forces Trey to activate Thunder Pot to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase so Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn, returning Atlandis' ATK to 5000 and Utopia Ray's ATK to 2500. Trey draws but the side-effect of having Number 6 out with his new power takes effect and Trey remembers the conversation he had with Vetrix during the ritual. Furthermore, since Number 6 has no more Xyz Materials, both their LPs are halved, bringing Yuma down to 100 and Trey down to 900. (The real card doesn't have this effect.) After being knocked down, both duelists get up but the crest is taking over Trey but it was the only way to save his family. His attack forces Yuma to activate Battle Break to negate the attack and destroy Atlandis. However, Trey has a counter in mind and starts to declare the activation of that counter but recalls what Vetrix said about it. Nevertheless, he activates it, Final Prophecy, letting him send his equipped Machu Mech to the Graveyard to negate BB's activation and destroy it, bringing Atlandis down to 2600 ATK. Since it's still enough to win, Yum activates Half Unbreak to halve the Battle Damage and leave him down to just 50 LPs. However, there's more to FP as it'll lead to Yuma and Trey's destruction by making them both take damage equal to Number 33's ATK and be destroyed on Trey's next turn. Their surroundings are also being destroyed and Caswell finds out that it's not just a hologram. Worse still, Trey's crest is no match for the Trap Card's effects and Vetrix knows that it's opening up a portal to Barian World and when it fully opens, there's no closing it. All Yuma needs to do is win the duel but since Trey has less than 1000 LPs, Atlandis also prevents Trey from taking any battle damage or it being destroyed. As a result, Trey figures that perhaps Yuma can bring Astral back if given the crest and Yuma agrees to take it despite the risk. After the exchange is complete, Yuma successfully brings back Astral and they demonstrate the power of Zexal by merging together. They draw and summon Zexal Weapon - Phoenix Bow (1100) in Attack Mode. Next they equip it to Utopia Ray, giving it 1100 ATK to 3600. Their attack destroys Atlandis and deals 1000 damage to Trey by Phoenix Bow's effects to win the duel but what will happen to Trey now that he's been defeated? Back in reality, Yuma and the others have landed on the pavement and come to but it takes longer for Trey to show signs of life. Trey has realized that Yuma accepts him for who he is and is the only one that is truly his friend. Before he goes, Trey asks Yuma to help save his family. Yuma obtains his last Heart Piece and the Number cards disappear. Elsewhere, Trey is in bed with Vetrix by his side and needs some comfort before wanting to rest. Vetrix wants to deal with Yuma Tsukumo next! |
