Episode 17: It's in the Cards (1) | |
Inside the mall, one man is confronted by what appears to be a fortune teller,
whom says it was foolish to defy what was written ages ago. Nevertheless, the
man attacks with Number 16: Shock Master and (somehow) loses. The fortune teller
only serves Kite and takes not only Number 16 but the other man's soul as well
with a glowing eyed Kite watching. At school the next day, Yuma is all excited
about his Deck's upgrades but Astral doesn't share the excitement and is cryptic
about why he's feeling down. Tori, Caswell and Bronk arrive to share info about
missing students that are found appearing to be many years older and unable to
move. Yuma brushes off the story as coincidence but Tori catches that Yuma isn't
telling them something he knows and Yuma darts off. Near what looks to be a water tower of sorts, Yuma admits he doesn't want the others to get involved with the Kite dilemma and Astral isn't so confident to tackle Kite yet. Cathy arrives, scaring Yuma and has no idea about Astral so Yuma darts off again. Meanwhile, the fortune teller presents Kite with Shock Master, then looks into his Fortune Teller's Deck for the next step. He gazes at Number 11: Big Eye and is taken over. Meanwhile, Yuma bolts again before Tori can get a word in in and the group decide to form a Numbers Club, adding Flip when he appears to help. However, Flip has no memories of being possessed by the Number but Cathy appears to share the experience she had earlier but since she has little understanding, provides only vague details. Tori comes up with one scenario and the group decide to split up. During her fruitless search, Tori runs into Shark, whom states to go home as Numbers are not good news. That evening, the group have had no luck until Flip reports of an old castle belonging to a fortune teller. The fortune teller finds them and leads them inside where he shares what he knows regarding their dilemma, then possesses Tori before sending them plummeting downwards. Cathy is quick enough to escape and races to get help, just as the fortune teller wants. The next evening, Yuma and Astral aren't feeling better when Cathy brings them the news but is taken over before she can fully reveal the info herself and reveals himself as Fortuno but doesn't finish the message before letting Cathy go. Cathy leads the way but Astral knows Yuma can't save them if he can't defeat Kite but Yuma heads off, leaving Astral behind. The duo arrive to see their friends trapped over lava. Fortuno appears and agrees to release Yuma's friends if he loses. Astral arrives anyway and duel preparations take place. With that done Fortuno draws and summons Orange Shaman (0000) in Attack Mode before setting 1 card to end his turn, leaving Astral confused about the lack of his monster's ATK. Nevertheless, Yuma draws and plays Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode, triggering OS's effect to let Fortuno Special Summon Red Shaman (0000) in Attack Mode. Yuma attacks but Fortuno activates Dance of the Guardian, letting him pick a card in Yuma's hand and if it's a monster, the attack is negated, the monster is sent to the Graveyard and he himself gets to draw 1 card. Since he knows Yuma's only monster is Gagaga Magician, he chooses it, Yuma discards it and he himself draws 1 card. All Yuma can do is set 1 card to end his turn so Fortuno draws and plays Shaman Call to Special Summon a Shaman monster from his Deck since he controls 2 0 ATK Spellcaster-Type monsters and Special Summons Green Shaman (0000) in Attack Mode. Next he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 16: Shock Master (2300) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Shock Master's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself to declare Trap Cards unable to be used until his next turn, sealing Yuma's face down card. His attack not only takes out GG to leave Yuma down to 3500 LPs but it also erodes away the ground that his friends are standing on. As Yuma loses LPs, his friends' platform is eroded away. Astral now knows what it's like to be afraid! |
