Episode 18: It's in the Cards (2) | |
At the duel, Astral realizes that he felt fear when facing Kite and Yuma has to
snap him out of it. Yuma then draws but it's not what he's hoping for but Astral
convinces him to play Kurivolt (300) in Attack
Mode. Next, he uses its effect to convert Number 16's Xyz Materials into
Kurivolt Tokens. (The real card can only detach one Xyz Material and Special
Summons another Kurivolt to your field.) Next he uses
Voltage Summon to Tribute 2 Kurivolt Tokens for
Ganbara Knight (0000) and Kagetokage (1100)
in Attack Mode and make their ATK and DEFs 0, bringing Kagetokage's ATK to 0.
Next he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39:
Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode and Astral is surprised at how Yuma was able
to shake his fear. While Fortuno has his eye on Utopia, Yuma attacks with it and Kurivolt, taking out Number 16 and leaving Fortuno down to 3500 LPs. Just as Yuma is about to end his turn, Astral gets him to set 2 cards to end his turn. Fortuno ridicules Yuma for still believing in victory, then draws and Special Summons Rainbow Shaman (0000) in Attack Mode since Yuma has an Xyz Monster and Fortuno has no monsters. Next he uses Xyz Plant to make itself a Level 7 monster, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 11: Big Eye (2600) in Attack Mode. Then he uses Big Eye's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself to gain control of Utopia. His attack with Utopia takes out Kurivolt and leaves Yuma on the ground and down to 1300 LPs. Since Big Eye can't attack when its effect is used, Fortuno sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma draws and Fortuno activates Freezing Dance to prevent both players from Summoning (or Setting) monsters for two turns. As a result, Yuma ends his turn so Fortuno draws and attacks Yuma directly with Big Eye. As a result, Yuma activates Nitwit Outwit to discard Dododo Warrior and reduce the damage he takes by DW's ATK, bringing his score down to 1000. (The real card lowers the monster's ATK by the discarded monster's ATK.) Nevertheless, Fortuno attacks directly with Utopia, prompting Yuma to use Xyz Weight to make Utopia lose 800 ATK per Xyz Material it has this turn, bringing it down by 1600 to 900 and leaving Yuma down to 100 LPs. Tori falls but Bronk catches her and bringss her back up while Astral is soon to fade away. However, while Fortuno is impressed that Yuma survived 2 direct attacks, he uses Twilight Dance to prevent Special Summoning from the Graveyard. With that, Fortuno ends his turn, returning Utopia's ATK to normal. Fortuno then proposes a deal whereby if Yuma surrenders, he'll release Tori and the others. Astral is convinced that's the only option but Tori protests otherwise and Yuma agrees. He won't just give up and questions the authenticity of Kite at the top. Cathy takes the opportunity to find out for sure and sends the head of the statue down the steps. Astral has learned more than just fear but hope and becomes visible to Yuma's friends. Yuma then draws and activates Comeback to regain control of Utopia. Next, Astral shows him a new way to Xyz Summon by using Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (Number C39: Utopia Ray in the CG) (2500) in Attack Mode. Then he and Astral use Utopia Ray's effect to detach all of its Xyz Materials to give it 500 ATK for each one to 4000 while Big Eye loses 1000 ATK for each one, leaving it with 0. Their attack takes out Big Eye to win the duel. Astral takes Number 11 and Number 16, then gets all the attention so Yuma goes home and while the others give chase, Astral notes that as long as you have friends, you have hope and Yuma is his friend. |
