Episode 6: Flipping Out (2)
At the duel, Flip is confident that Yuma can't win so long as Yuma doesn't have Utopia, which he won't so long as it's equipped with Ultra C. (In the CG, Utopia is destroyed if it's attacked and has no Xyz Materials, which'd make Flip's move terrible.) Worse still, Flip becomes infected by Number 39 and Astral is held captive as well. Luckily, Yuma has 2 other Xyz Monsters but neither of his current monsters can Xyz Summon either of them so Yuma ends his turn. Flip draws and takes out Flelf with Utopia, leaving Yuma down to 1900 LPs. Next, he sets a monster to end his turn. Yuma draws and plays Rai Rider (1200) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Gagaga Magician's effect to make its own Level become Level 3.
Then he uses them as Xyz Material for Number 17: Leviathan Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode. However, Flip is ready with Traitor Fog to gain control of Number 17 (since it was Special Summoned but they don't tell you that). As a result, Flip is possessed by two numbers and Astral is now sealed in a cocoon of sorts. Meanwhile, Tori and Bronk are scanning the photos when Tori notices that they're fake. They need to see if Spencer knows about it and give him a call. The call is short-lived as Spencer claims to be busy and hangs up. Back at the duel, Yuma demands to know why Flip is so mean but Flip wasn't always like this and we get to see his past where bullies took most of his cards through duels.
As Flip's story continues, Tori and Bronk search for Spencer to no avail. Flip found a way to win through cheating and considers Yuma a loser for stating that dueling is about having fun. Tori and Bronk realize they never searched the old gym and find Spencer with an elaborate pattern of dominos requested by Flip. It all makes sense to Tori and Bronk as they've figured out the whole thing. Back at the duel, Yuma strategizes but Astral warns to protect Baby Tiragon so Yuma puts BT to Defense Mode to its delight, then sets 1 card to end his turn. While, Bronk and Tori decide to search the mall for the duel, Flip draws and uses Number 17's effect, to detach an Xyz Material from itself and give itself 500 ATK to 2500.
Next, he Flip Summons Flipangutan (800) to Attack Mode, triggering its effect to let Flip change BT back to Attack Mode. His attack with Number 17 prompts Yuma to activate Half Unbreak to prevent BT's destruction this turn (in battle more specifically) and halving the Battle Damage, bringing Yuma down to 1100 LPs. Regardless, Flip attacks BT with Utopia, bringing Yuma down to 300 LPs. Worse still, Flip activates Book of Flip to put Flipangutan face-down again. (Book of Moon has this effect, though isn't specific to Flip Effect monsters.) At last, Tori and Bronk find the duel and learn the scenario before Yuma draws and summons Stinging Swordsman (300) in Attack Mode. Next he uses BT's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and let SS attack directy.
Flip isn't scared and forces the attack to a halt while his score drops to 2200. Due to SS' effect, all of Flip's Spell and Traps return to his hand. (The real card also returns Equip Cards like those attached to Relinquished and such.) As a result, Yuma gets Utopia and Leviathan Dragon and Astral is released from his cocoon while Flip returns to normal. Yuma's attacks take out Flipangutan and win the duel. Yuma goes to return Baby Tiragon to Flip but Flip isn't fully convinced until Yuma remarks on how nice his glasses look and is brought to tears. Furthermore, Flip agrees to let Yuma keep the card and have it be a part of their friendship. Bronk sees the annoying side of their friendship while Spencer once again knocks down his hard work.
