Episode 7: The Sparrow (1)
We find a team of superheroes of sorts in trouble until The Sparrow appears. However, we find it's just a TV show that Astral is watching while Yuma sleeps. However, Yuma doesn't like Galaxy Queen's laugh and shuts off the TV, explaining the world of The Sparrow to Astral and doesn't turn the TV back on until he's bugged enough but the show is over. The next day, Yuma is excited when class ends and tells Astral about fiction vs. non-fiction before Tori and Bronk share that The Sparrow is in their town and Tori is in love with him. They drag Yuma along for the ride and discover that Bronk and Yuma are basically surrounded by fangirls. However, Flip is there too and he shows them how to sneak in but is caught while the others sneak in.
Inside, they see The Sparrow in action (sort of) and Astral learns about real vs. a costume before Yuma is dragged upwards by a cable. All the swinging around causes Yuma's Deck box to drop to the floor and spill his Deck right in front of The Sparrow. At last, Yuma is thrown against the wall, destroying one of the Set backgrounds. Worse still, security catches them and takes them out with a phone call to their parents but Yuma is taken away by The Sparrow, whom leads him into a dressing room of sorts before returning Yuma's Deck and requesting a duel. Yuma is up for it but The Sparrow shows his fear of spiders so Yuma takes the spider outside and ridicules The Sparrow. The Sparrow is no hero but an average boy.
The Sparrow keeps up the act because of the fans but Yuma assures that lots of people would like to get to know whom he really is. Yuma suggests they get to know each other better through a duel and The Sparrow reveals himself as Nelson before his mom interrupts to remind him that he's not to have discussion with anyone but authorized personnel and escorts Yuma out of the room. Nelson and Yuma will have the duel if Nelson can stop pretending but Nelson is convinced that only The Sparrow is what matters. That evening, Yuma teaches Astral more about TV as well as what it means to feel down about something. Elsewhere, Nelson finds a card on his balcony floor and picks it up. It's Number 83: Galaxy Queen and it begins to possess Nelson.
A guy walks down the street and throws away a drink can he finished off before The Sparrow appears and makes him pay. Later, a cat walks across the street and The Sparrow intercepts the oncoming car to start a series of retaliations against citizens of the town. The next day, the class gets word of the news and eventually scope out The Sparrow after his latest attack. The Sparrow doesn't stay long when Yuma catches up and ducks into a narrow passageway. The next evening, Astral reminds Yuma of the promise he made to Nelson and the duo return. They find The Sparrow just as he's about to put on his mask and learn that he's obeying the rules of Galaxy Queen. Furthermore, Yuma believes that Nelson really believes that he is The Sparrow and they agree to duel.
After duel preparations are complete, Nelson draws and plays Beast-Warrior Puma (1600) in Attack Mode. Next, he sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma draws and summons Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode. His attack forces Nelson to activate Trion Barrier to Special Summon 3 Triple Star Trions (100 x3) in Attack Mode. All Yuma can do is set 1 card to end his turn so Nelson draws and tributes 2 TSTs for Esper Star Sparrow (D.D. Esper Star Sparrow in the CG) (3000) in Attack Mode. Due to the Triple Star Trions' effects, they're revived in Attack Mode. (The real card is revived during the End Phase.) After that, Nelson uses Space Ration to draw 2 cards since he has Esper Star Sparrow in play. Now he uses his TSTs as Xyz Material for Number 83: Galaxy Queen (500) in Defense Mode. Then he equips Number 83 with Furious Max's Curse, preventing its destruction (in battle but they make it seem like it's by battle or by card effect, not to mention they leave out that its battle position can't be changed).
With that done, Nelson uses Galaxy Queen's effect to detach an Xyz Material from it to make his monsters indestructible in battle and inflict piercing battle damage this turn. His attacks leave Yuma defenseless, on the ground and down to 2400 LPs. Nelson sets 1 card to end his turn and Yuma cannot defeat The Sparrow but Yuma came to restore Nelson to normal and won't back down!
