Episode 3: In the End (1) | |
We find a man under the control of Number 34: Terror-Byte unleashing an army of
Crashbugs into the networking, causing mayhem all over the city. Meanwhile,
Astral doesn't understand what "get lost" means, then adds that he can't go away
until all 99 numbers are gathered. Bronk and Tori remain virtually unconvinced
that Astral really exists but a cry of agony interrupts their concentration and
Yuma realizes that Kari is in trouble. We see her computer screens with only
error messages and Kari is about to blow her stack. Yuma and the others head out
but Kari wants Yuma to get her a story by tomorrow or else! Yuma and the others
find the chaos unfolding before Yuma is dumped inside a Litterbot. Back at
dinner, while Kara mopes, Yuma and his grandma share their experience and it
snaps Kara out of her predicament. She swipes Yuma's fish and heads off to get
going on her story. Astral continues to struggle with how humans work and continues pondering while Yuma sleeps before he's dragged into the key and has no idea where he is. Meanwhile, in a classroom, a teacher was going to give a lesson on quadratic questions but their system is offline (then why bother having class then?) and offers extra credit to anyone that can solve the crisis. A boy, revealed as Caswell, stands up and explains everything that's happened before Yuma suggests a duel tournament. The teacher, revealed as Mr. Kay and his class approve but Caswell doesn't take it that well and challenges Yuma to a duel, not willing to truly believe that Yuma beat Shark. Caswell loses Yuma with his math references and doesn't have Utopia with him. The duel takes place (and much is skipped) as Caswell summons Crashbug X (0000) in Attack Mode to win the duel (and at 9:54 into the episode, we can see what he had out, though Crashbug X in the middle was the monster he attacked with). Caswell gloats before Mr. Kay interrupts with the story of Crashbug. Later, Yuma says how much he likes Mr. Kay before Kari shows up to take he and Tori for a ride in her car. Kari explains that the virus didn't get far but was transmitted from their school library. At the library, the trio split up and at first there's nothing out of the ordinary but shortly before closing time, Yum and Tori find Caswell sneaking past them. Caswell activates a flashdrive and unwittingly releases the Crashbug virus again Yuma makes him pay for it, not willing to accept what he's told but Caswell shows that what he'd found was just the detonation to unleash the bigger threat and the trio head off. Along the way, Yuma instructs Kari to try and stop the virus before the group find the building and become trapped inside. Worse still, Mr. Kay is there and not only did he start the virus but he lead them there when the virus really spreads. Plus, he's being possessed by Number 34. Astral finds himself unable to figure out where he is but comes out of the key anyway and Caswell learns of why Yuma is acting so strangely. Yuma and Mr. Kay settle with a duel and preparations get underway before Mr. Kay draws and sets a monster. Yuma draws and plays Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode. His attack reveals Mr. Kay's hidden monster to be Crashbug X (2000) in Defense Mode, bringing Yuma down to 3500 LPs. After Tori gets a dueling lesson, Mr. Kay draws and summons Crashbug Y (1400) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Crashbug Road to let both players Special Summon a monster from their hand whose Level equals the Level of a Level 4 or lower monster on their field. As a result, Mr. Kay summons Crashbug Z (0000) and Yuma brings out Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode. This has set up Mr. Kay to use his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 34: Terror-Byte (2900) in Defense Mode. Next, he uses Terror-Byte's effect to detach an Xyz Material from it and gain control of Gogogo Golem. His attack with GG takes out GM to leave Yuma down to 3300. Meanwhile, Kara finds the source but has 25 minutes to make it through the dungeon to get to the access code. Back at the duel, Mr. Kay continues insulting Yuma and Astral learns that words can hurt. Mr. Kay will infect the entire city and it's been that way since the very beginning! |
