Episode 181: A Duel with Dartz (5)
At the duel, Dartz explains to Yami why he was brought here and we're brought to a dimension where all the souls captured reside and it shows Yugi, Joey and Pegasus chatting about their situation when Pegasus states that Yami can win by using the card given to him as it unlocks the Legendary Dragons as their true selves. Back at the duel, Dartz doesn't believe Yami's story and instead states that Yami represents the evil inside everyone. (We also see Shunoros somehow down to 17,200 ATK as shown at 6:24 into the episode, which may be resulting from another critical scene cut from the US version or an error.) Yami draws and uses Pot of Greed. Next plays Obnoxious Celtic Guardian (" ") (1200) in Defense Mode and sets 1 card to end his turn. Dartz draws, gaining 1500 LPs due to Orichalcos Deuteros' effect, raising his score to 20K. Next he orders Orichalcos Dexia to attack, having it gain 300 more ATK than its attack target's DEF, raising its ATK to 1500. However, Yami counters with Soul Shield, halving his LPs to stop the attack and end the Battle Phase, bringing his score down to 2150 and lowering Shunoros' ATK to 15,700. Dartz tries to convince Yami to surrender the duel to be with his friends and Yami starts to admit that maybe it's the best way, even placing his hand above his Duel Disk as his eyes take on the Orichalcos hue. However, as the Seal slowly encircles Yami, it's stopped by Yami's Millennium Puzzle, which makes his friends spiritually appear. Yami draws and uses Legend of Heart, now with artwork, to tribute his OCG, pay half his LPs, bringing his score down to 1150 and summon Legendary Knight Timaeus, Critias, and Hermos (2800 x3) in Attack Mode (clearly based off of the owners of the Legendary Dragon cards as their voices and faces clearly sound and look like Yami, Joey and Kaiba respectively). Furthermore, the knights destroy all three Seal of Orichalcos layers, bringing Shunoros' ATK to 15,200 and Orichalcos Dexia's ATK to 0. Next, Yami chooses to attack with the Knights, leaving Shunoros' ATK down to 5900 ATK and his score down to 250 to end his turn. Dartz draws and attacks with Shunoros but Yami uses LKC's effect to absorb the effect of Mirror Force and reflect the attack back on Shunoros, destroying all three monsters and leaving Dartz down to 14,100 LPs. However, with Shunoros destroyed, Divine Serpent, a monster with infinite ATK points takes its place after Dartz makes his hand and LPs 0 but is permitted to stay in the duel as long as DS is in play. All Yami can do is set 1 card to end his turn so Dartz sends the top 10 cards of his Deck to the Graveyard to let his DS attack and it successfully destroys LKT, dropping Yami's score to 0 but Yami activates Relay Soul to Special Summon Dark Magician Girl (1700) in Defense Mode and stay in the game as long as she does. Dartz has another trick and plays Impact Revive to bring back Yami's Legendary Knight Timaeus to Yami's field with 500 more ATK, putting its ATK up to 3300 and letting his DS attack again so Dartz chooses to attack DMG and if she's destroyed, all hope is lost!
