At the duel, Raphael's attack is stopped by the Kuriboh brothers' Star Defense technique. Nevertheless, Raphael isn't too worried and Weevil concludes that they didn't miss anything too important. Down below, Duke's car is driving along and Tristan concludes that their map is all wrong and no bridge exists in their area but they drive on one with their car and it crumbles away just as they reach the other side of the ravine. Meanwhile, Rebecca talks to Tea` about what Professor Hawkins said and Tea` explains that there's only one Yugi but he comes with another side to him, like a tougher more confident Yugi. Rebecca likes Yugi's charming side and remembers when Yugi surrendered the duel to her back before Battle City started.

All Tea` can conclude is that Yugi and Yami are in the lead in defeating Raphael but we can see this not to be the case as Yami draws, taking 300 damage from Purity of the Cemetery's effect, bringing his score down to 2700. Yami first combines his Kuriboh brothers into Kuribabylon (1500) in Attack Mode. Next, he tributes it for Dark Magician Girl (2000) in Attack Mode, not strong enough to defeat Raphael's Guardian Grarl so Yami plays his Eye of Timaeus card and combines it with DMG for Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight (2600) in Attack Mode. Next he attacks and uses its effect to destroy GG. Raphael then activates Self Tribute to pay 1000 Life Points and prevent his GG from being destroyed, brining his score down to 3000. Raphael then adds that everyone has darkness in their heart, including Yami but Yami protests Raphael is in possession of the only evil in existence. However, Raphael heard Yami's memories were erased and since Yami saved the people, he was evil too and shares a story of the 5000 years before Yami was pharaoh. He concludes that should things continue, the planet will become what the desert is now. (You're sounding like those that believe in Global Warming in that we're the cause of the problem when there's been no noticeable changes.) Yami is stick of hearing Raphael carry on about his evil plan but it's Dartz's plan.

Raphael draws and sets 1 card, then activates his face down Exchange card, forcing both players to swap cards since there's no other options in either of their hands. Yami doesn't understand what Raphael is chuckling over until he gazes at the Seal of Orichalcos card now in his hand and concludes that he can't use it. Of course, he doesn't have to use it but Raphael figures Yami will. Yugi pleads for Yami not to play it and Yami agrees, drawing and taking 500 damage by PotC's effect, leaving his score down to 2200. Next, he attacks with DMGtDK but Raphael activates Crystal Seal to stop the attack and knows that there's one card that can free his monster. Yami sets 1 monster to end his turn. Raphael draws and activates Rod of Silence (Rod of Silence - Kay'est in the CG), equipping it to Backup Gardna and raisng its DEF by 500 to 2700. Next he summons Guardian Kay'est (1000) in Attack Mode. He attacks with GG, destroying Yami's hidden Big Shield Gardna (2600) in Defense Mode, then attacks Yami directly with GK to leave Yami down to 1200.

Yami draws, taking another 600 damage by PotC's effect, bringing his score down to 600 but is determined to win the duel and activates Card of Sanctity to force both players to draw cards until they're holding six cards. However, his new cards don't help him and all he has to free his monster is the card Raphael gave him. Despite Yugi's pleas not to play it and even grabbing his arm, Yami turns him down and activates the Seal of Orichalcos, a decision he quickly regrets but is noticed by Duke and crew in the car and leaving a grim look on Yami's face!
