Episode 158: Fate of the Pharaoh (3) | |
At the duel, Yami doesn't care about the consequences of using the Seal of Orichalcos as it now powers up his Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight by 500 to 3100, freeing itself from Raphael's Crystal Seal. However, Timaeus suddenly disappears and Dark Magician Girl is left on her own with 2500 ATK as Raphael explains that it's Yami's fault for playing the Seal as the Legendary Dragons and the Seal don't mix. Still, at least Yami's dark side has been set free and the field is enveloped in shadows as Yami calls Raphael foolish for handing him the Seal as Raphael will lose his soul when he loses. Yami begins his turn with Hand Control, letting him guess 1 card in Raphael's hand and he can play it if correct. Since he gave Raphael Necromancy, he activates it to bring back 4 monsters from his Graveyard, choosing Big Shield Gardna (2600), Berfomet (1800) Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (1200) and Kuribabylon (200) all in Defense Mode. Next he tributes Gazelle and Berfomet for Dark Magician (3000) in Attack Mode (I'm still including the +500 ATK from the Seal of Orichalcos in case you're confused). Then he trades Kuribabylon for Kuriboh, Kuribu, Kuriba, Kuribi, and Kuribe (800 x 5) in Attack Mode. He merges the Kuriboh Brothers back into Kuribabylon, which now has 4500 ATK thanks to the Orichalcos but Raphael says it's from the darkness inside him. Inside some empty space, Yugi awakens to find the Seal of Orichalcos in play. Yami attacks, destroying Raphael's Guardian Grarl and leaving Raphael down to 1500 LPs. With a monster in his Grave, Rapahel's Purity of the Cemetery card self-destructs. Furthermore, Yami attacks directly with his Dark Magician but Raphael activates Aid to the Doomed, negating the attack by discarding 2 cards. Just then, Duke's car arrives and the trio see Yami's new changes. They slide down the cliff and learn that Yami activated the Seal of Orichalcos given to him by Raphael but are in disbelief. Raphael isn't worried and assures Yami that Guardian Grarl will be back and activates Monster Rebirth (whose artwork at 7:28 into the US episode is surprisingly unedited and I know this because that symbol is always censored with Monster Reborn and whose name is Monster Reincarnation in the CG), letting him return 1 monster in his Graveyard to his deck and chooses Guardian Grarl. (The real card forces you to discard 1 card and return 1 Monster Card in your Graveyard to your hand.) Next he sets 1 card and activates Swords of Revealing Light to keep Yami's monsters from attacking for 3 turns. Weevil calls dibs on Yami's Dark Magician should Yami lose but Rex also wants it (don't know why since neither of you would have any use for the card). Yami doesn't care about SoRL as he tributes Big Shield Gardna for Catapult Turtle (1500) in Attack Mode and goes to use its effect but Raphael activates Limit Tribute to prevent both players from tributing monsters more than once per turn, forcing Yami to end his turn. Raphael draws, pleased with the result and uses Nightmare Binding and selects Kuribabylon with it, lowering its ATK by 800 to 3700 and raising Rapahel's score by 800 to 2300. Plus Kuribabylon now cannot be tributed. Yami draws and uses Catapult Turtle's effect to tribute Dark Magician and deal Raphael damage equal to half its ATK, leaving Raphael down to 800 LPs. Furthermore, DMG gains 300 more ATK, putting her up to 2800 ATK since Dark Magician is in Yami's Graveyard. All Raphael can do is set 1 card for his turn so Yami chooses to tribute DMG despite Yugi's warning that the monsters are real when the Seal is in play. However, Raphael activates Shrink, halving the damage he takes to 700, bringing his score down to just 100 LPs and leaving him on the ground. Duke and Tristan cheer Yami on but Joey knows that Yami isn't what he used to be. Raphael gets up, telling Yami that he's evil and getting worse with time. At last, Yami realizes what's going on but Raphael knows that the next round is the last round and the result of the duel will be decided. Raphael draws and uses Celestial Sword and equips it to Backup Gardna, raising its ATK by 300. Next he plays Guardian Eatos (2500) and moves the Equip Spell to her, raising her ATK up to 2800. Due to GE's effect, it removes Yami's monsters from play and adds their ATK to its own for a new total of 10,000 ATK. (The real card only gets 500 ATK until the End Phase for each monster removed, which is up to 3 and unlike the other Guardian monsters doesn't have any specific Equip Spell that it needs to be active on your side of the field to Summon it.) To everyone else's shock, Raphael attacks, destroying Yami's monsters and winning the duel. Inside his "room", Yugi breaks the Seal with the Millennium Puzzle. Furthermore, he decides to intercept and have his soul taken instead despite Yami's disapproval. Yami collapses to the ground and Raphael takes back his Seal of Orichalcos card and the Orichalcos Stone and is taken away by helicopter piloted by Alister but agrees to drop off Yami's body as he has all that he needs. While Rex and Weevil go to take Yami's Dark Magician, Yami awakens and explains that Yugi's soul is gone (appearing on Dartz's wall). Crying agony, Yami protests that the Seal should've taken his soul instead. |
