Episode 108: Settling the Score (1) | |||
Wherever he is, the robot monkey gazes at his surroundings before we learn that it's Tristan that's been converted into the robot monkey. Meanwhile, Yugi and crew have to find Tristan and already know that Tristan's mind is in a holding area but Kaiba discovers that Tristan's body has a new host (and one that is obviously good at fighting) but Joey needs a bit more convincing when the gang see what's going on. Kaiba and Tristan-Nesbit continue their battle before Robot Monkey Tristan (RMT for short) briefly interrupts before being tossed aside. Joey nails a direct hit on Tristan-Nesbit, sending him crashing into a garage. He emerges on a motorcycle, snagging Mokuba as he speeds away, telling Kaiba they're even now. Kaiba isn't letting Tristan-Nesbit get away and gives chase on another motorcycle. RMT makes more noise but only Serenity sees any good in him and he happily jumps into her arms. Meanwhile, Kaiba's pursuit continues through the other side of a tunnel where he ditches the bike to avoid hitting a person standing in the middle of the road. The person remains elusive about his identity but recognizes Kaiba. Meanwhile, Nesbit-Tristan continues his escape when Noah forces him to stop, asking what's going on, protesting that capturing Mokuba wasn't part of their deal and orders to be handed Mokuba. The man has been waiting for this moment for some time and Kaiba now knows who he's dealing with, Mokuba awakens to being in a room with a fireplace and Noah explaining everything, including where Kaiba is. Kaiba is ready to get the duel against his opponent, revealed as Lector, over with and after the cards are chosen, Kaiba chooses Lord of Dragons (or just Lord of D. in the CG) as his Deck Master but Lector isn't so quick to reveal his Deck Master but Kaiba doesn't care as he'll crush Lector easily. Lector begins by setting 1 monster and 2 cards face down for his turn. Kaiba brings out Spear Dragon (1900) in Attack Mode and attacks, revealing and destroying Lector's hidden Hiro's Shadow Scout (500) in Defense Mode, bringing Lector's score down to 2600 by Spear Dragon's effect. HSS' effect is also triggered, forcing Kaiba to draw and reveal his deck's next 3 cards, sending any drawn Spell Cards to the Grave. Kaiba's forced to discard the two Spell Cards he picks up but sets 1 card to end his turn, confident the duel will be over once it's activated. Lector activates his face down Solemn Wishes card, giving him 500 Life Points for each card he draws. (The real card gives you 500 Life Points when you draw at least 1 card.) He enters his Draw Phase and SW's effect gives him 500 more LPs to 3100. Next he sets a monster and 1 card face down for his turn, leaving Kaiba wondering why Lector didn't attack, considering SD's drawbacks.
Nevertheless, he summons Giant Germ (1000) in Attack Mode, then switches SD to Attack Mode and goes attack but Lector activates Mask of Perplexity, forcing Kaiba to randomly attack a monster. His new attack target becomes his own Giant Germ, destroying it and letting Kaiba activate his Crush Card (Crush Card Virus in the CG) but Lector fires a beam at the card and destroys it, giving Kaiba a complete understanding of Lector's Deck Master being Jinzo. Lector was next in line until Kaiba forced his way to the top and remembers the day Kaiba's lessons in the real world began. All Lector did was follow orders and couldn't have run Kaiba Corp. Lector protests that he will once he escapes in Kaiba's body. Due to GG's effect, Kaiba can play another Giant Germ from his Deck (it also deals 500 damage to the owner, but they don't tell you that). Lector draws, returning his LPs back to 3100. Next he sets 2 cards to end his turn. Kaiba attacks with SD, revealing and destroying Lector's face down Cyber Jar (900) in Defense Mode, triggering its effect to destroy all monsters on the field. However, SD's effect is still active and brings his score down to 1700 by its effect (the battle damage should be 1000 as that's the difference between SD's 1900 ATK and Cyber Jar's 900 DEF and in which case Lector's current score should be 1600 not 1700 as it shows at 16:12 into the US episode). CJ's other effect forces them both to draw 5 cards and bring out the monsters they draw so Kaiba brings out Vorse Raider (1900) and Twin-Headed Behemoth (1200) in Attack and Defense Mode respectively while Lector plays Injection Fairy Lily (400) in Attack Mode. Lector draws, gaining 500 LPs by SW's effect, bringing his score up to 2200. Next he equips himself with Watch Tranquilizer, letting him select a monster and lower its ATK by 100x its Level. He selects Vorse Raider, bringing its ATK down to 1500. (A similar card called "Burden of the Mighty" is a Continuous Spell that lowers the ATK of all monsters the opponent controls by 100 x their Levels.) Next, he pays 2000 LPs to activate his IFL's effect, brining his score down to 200 and raising IFL's ATK by 3000 to 3400. His attack takes out Kaiba's VR and leaving Kaiba down to 1200 LPs. However, Lector then activates Sebek's Blessing, giving him LPs equal to what Kaiba lost, raising his score to 2100. (The real card can only be activated after a monster you control attacked your opponent directly.) Finally, Lector sets 1 monster to end his turn. Kaiba also sets a monster for his turn so Lector activates Life Absorbing Machine, giving him LPs equal to half of what he paid the turn before so on his draw, his LPs rise to 3600. Next he tributes his hidden monster for Satellite Cannon (0000) in Attack Mode and it's set for Kaiba's destruction! |
