Episode 109: Settling the Score (2) | |||
Just down the road, Yugi and the gang, having since acquired a truck and watched Satellite Cannon launch, discuss the rocket they saw. Robot Monkey Tristan is loving the thought of being in Serenity's arms all day and having him be on her mind but his thoughts aren't completely contained as he inadvertently activates the mode that brings his thoughts out of his mouth and Joey grabs him and calls him a robot spy sent by Noah. As they continue their trip in the truck, they have RMT tied in a corner by a rope. Meanwhile at the duel, Lector's score is three times Kaiba's score and uses his Injection Fairy Lily's effect to pay 2000 LPs and booster her ATK by 3000, leaving his score down to 1600 and her ATK at 3400. His attack with her takes out Kaiba's Twin-Headed Behemoth but it returns quickly (and it looks to be in Attack Mode but the real card's effect can only be used during the End Phase once per duel). Next, Lector sets 1 card (Spring of Rebirth it looks to be), then uses Emergency Provisions to destroy it and gain 1000 Life Points. (The real card sends the Spells and Traps to the Graveyard.) He advises Kaiba to watch Satellite Cannon's energy gauge (and that has drastically changed its artwork) Yugi and the gang arrive on the other side of the bridge's gap and Noah sees this from his TV screen. Mokuba insists that Kaiba will win the duel and rescue his brother. Yugi and Joey recognize Lector's Deck Master and know that Kaiba's Traps are useless. It's like dueling with half a deck (more like a third). Kaiba draws and uses Heavy Storm to destroy all of Lector's Spells and Traps. (The real card destroys all Spells and Traps on the field.) Lector is ready, however, and activates Imperial Order, preventing Kaiba from using Spell Cards if Lector gives up 700 LPs per turn. (The real card stops all Spell Cards from being used.) Lector draws, obtaining his 1500 point boost from Solemn Wishes and Life Absorbing Machine, putting his score up to 4100, then pays 700 to maintain Imperial Order (not activate as Lector says from 6:39 to 6:43 into the US episode), putting his score down to 3400. Next he attacks with his Satellite Cannon, taking out Kaiba's hidden Wicked Worm Beast (700) in Defense Mode (which was actually set in the previous episode). Lector continues his story from when Kaiba was working to the top of his business skills and Mokuba is shocked to learn that the was leaking their plans to Gozaburo Kaiba. However, both he and Kaiba deny the story's claims. Kaiba continues the duel by summoning Spirit Ryu (1000) in Attack Mode and attacks Lector's IFL but Lector uses her effect, putting his score down to 1400 and her ATK at 3400. However, Kaiba uses SR's effect to discard 2 Dragon-Type monsters and give him 1000 ATK for each one, putting its ATK at 3000 but still destroying it, leaving his score down to 800. It was all part of his plan as he orders his THB to attack and without enough LPs to pay for IFL's effect, IFL is destroyed, leaving Lector's score tied with his.
Lector draws, gaining 500 from SW and 350 from LAM but chooses not to pay for IO and it's destroyed, leaving his score up to 1650. He sets 1 monster then takes out Kaiba's TBH with his own SC, destroying it. Kaiba draws and uses Pot of Greed. Next he summons Possessed Dark Soul (1200) in Attack Mode and attacks Lector's hidden Dreamsprite (200) in Defense Mode, triggering its effect to let Lector choose the new attack target and he picks SC, causing PDS' attack to fade away. (The real Dreamsprite's effect can only be used when it's face up on the field.) Lector draws, gaining 500 LPs by SW's effect, putting his score back up to 2150 to end his turn, leaving his SC with 2000 ATK. Kaiba draws and uses his Deck Master's ability to pay 500 Life Points and bring out his Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode, bringing his own score down to 300. He attacks, knowing that SC only has ATK when it's attacking (the real card's effect is practically the opposite, having ATK until after it attacks), destroying it and winning the duel. Lector isn't willing to share where Mokuba is but will be back. It's just as Mokuba figured and he'd standby his brother no matter what. Noah will show him family and Kaiba announces that he's coming. |
