Episode 13: Evil Spirit of the Ring

When asked, Bakura isn't there anymore, explaining his quest to own the Millennium Items (and I'll just call him what I've called him before, Yami Bakura, or YB). Yu-Gi-Oh begins with Cyber Commander (700) in Defense Mode and to his surprise, Tristan appears in the armor of the monster himself. YB plays White Magical Hat (1000) in Attack Mode and takes out CC, leaving Tristan to go to the Graveyard. Even when in the Graveyard, Tristan cannot come to reality that he's there as he finds a tombstone with his name on it. Only one monster in Yu-Gi-Oh's hand is strong enough to beat WMH and he plays it, Flame Swordsman (1800) in Attack Mode and much like Tristan, Joey is in FS' armor and isn't keen on Yu-Gi-Oh's much larger appearance. Joey puts his feeling crazy reaction aside and takes out WMH, leaving YB down to 1200 LPs.

YB sets a monster and despite Yu-Gi-Oh's suspicion, Joey attacks, revealing the hidden monster as Morphing Jar (600) in Defense Mode and destroying it, triggering its effect to force both players to discard their cards in hand and draw 5 cards (Yu-Gi-Oh's hand looked pretty pitiful anyway so ironically, I'd say it was a good thing Joey attacked). They were just lucky they didn't have Tea`'s soul card with them. (Wouldn't have done any good anyway, given her effect couldn't take any Spell Cards from your Grave and she'd therefore only end up in the Grave.) With a new hand, YB sets a monster and a face down card. Yu-Gi-Oh brings out Dark Magician (2500) in Attack Mode, then uses Reborn the Monster (Monster Reborn in the CG) to bring back CC/Tristan in Defense Mode. It is at this point that Yugi realizes he has another half when he duels.

Joey wants to attack but Yugi protests that because he was just played he has to attack (What? There's no rule that says which monster has to attack in the CG). His attack reveals a 2nd Morphing Jar (which I might add is still Limited to 1 per deck as of the March 2012 Banned List in the CG) and triggering its effect once more.

Tea's soul card is drawn (at least now you can take a Spell Card with her effect)YB sets another monster, then activates his face down  Just Desserts card to deal Yu-Gi-Oh 500 damage per monster on Yu-Gi-Oh's field, leaving him down to 500 LPs and one attack away from defeat. Yu-Gi-Oh sets Magician of Faith (300) in Defense Mode and Tea pops up from underneath the card to discover the same fate as her friends. Joey's puny joke angers Yugi to attack without thinking and it's Electric Lizard (800) in Defense Mode, which gets destroyed but leaves Yugi numb by EL's effect.

As YB points out (and what was clearly obvious before then) Tea is clearly visible. Yu-Gi-Oh sets 1 card face down (though it appears he blurted out that it was a Trap Card). They're no match for Bakura's Man-Eater Bug (600) in Defense Mode, which can destroy 1 monster on the field when it's flipped up. Joey assures them they can just get rid of it before it's played (not true but I think we meant that they'll get rid of it without attacking, which is possible with either Nobleman of Crossout or Shield Crush, though neither of those cards would've been out if the show came first.) They're standing on the only way out.

Joey decides to attack instead of Tristan, saying that Tristan just got back from the Grave and he wrestles with the MEB as Yu-Gi-Oh activates Horn of Heaven (which can't be activated this way in the CG because it's not a summon, MEB is being flipped face up, though it'd be a stupid move regardless). In the Grave, Joey finds the Reaper of Cards coming for him. Tea begins shedding tears, activating her effect. Oops! At 16:24 into the episode, Tea is standing on the Dark Magician card instead of her own! Using Magician of Faith Tea`'s effect, Yu-Gi-Oh picks the only Spell Card used, Reborn the Monster to bring back Flame Swordsman Joey in Attack Mode. YB plays Lady of Faith (1100) in Attack Mode, then uses Change of Heart to take Dark Magician Yugi but since Bakura's soul is in the card, Bakura himself takes over Lady of Faith and orders Dark Magician Yugi to attack. Yu-Gi-Oh has a better idea, swapping Bakura and YB's souls, then ordering DMY to attack, taking out LoF and sending YB to the Grave.

Afterwards, Yugi asks where Bakura got his ring and is told that his father saw it in a bazaar and learned it had to do with Duel Monsters. The card shown at 19:52 into the episode, Seven Armed Fiend, has 1000 ATK and DEF for US instead of the more sinister 666 ATK and DEF in the Japanese version. No one but Tea` remembers being Duel Monsters or there being two Yugis but a scream is heard and the group rush to find the source.
