Episode 118: Mission: Astral World (1)
We find Yuma sort-of in Astral World where he finds his dad's lucky Rainbow Kuriboh to lead the way. Yuma awakens on the ground to find things a lot bleaker than he imagined. Strange plants and a darkened landscape are everywhere but with a city so massive, it could take ages to find Astral. However, he reaches to touch a flower, turning everything green and summoning a new being that is not happy to see Yuma at all. The being summons his wolf-like creatures after Yuma but Yuma escapes with Rainbow Kuriboh's help. In Barian World, Dumon tries to explain that the visions he'd seen are true, just as Mizar's visions were true but Mizar still won't accept it. Meanwhile, Yuma thinks he got away but the being returns and manages to surround him with copies of himself.
Rainbow Kuriboh helps out once more but the being finds him and continues his onslaught before RK once again bails Yuma out and takes him back above the water. Yuma is shocked at all RK can do but RK shares the ability to project a hologram image of Yuma's dad, whom shares that Astral is in danger as the residents consider him a threat to be erased. Yuma won't let that happen but he's the only one that can save Astral and his dad's holgram disappears. While the duo press on, Shark still can't understand why he has two conflicting memories, ones from the accident and ones from his time as a Barian. He needs answers and Dumon appears in human form to confirm that Shark's real name is Nash and he's one of the Barians. While that sets in, Yuma travels with RK and Goblindbergh until the being from earlier sends his birds after Yuma, which damage Goblindbergh's wing and leave RK to save Yuma once again.
Yuma finally gives up running away and just wants Astral but the being won't let Yuma have him and attacks with lightning. Luckily, Yuma is saved again and awakens in another place thanks to a beng named Ena. In return, Ena asks to have the others saved and shows the crowd of them that need his power. Yuma successfully shares it with a younger spirit before Ena shares how the power disappeared from Astral World. However, Yuma must save Astral before it's too late so Yuma and RK head out and end up under the floor at a new location, which RK believes is where Astral is. Elsewhere, Elephus, the being that was chasing Yuma before, learns Yuma was there but protests that Ena's group wasn't saved but infected. Elephus must now take care of Yuma before proceeding to save them. Back with Yuma, he and RK reach the top and Yuma is exhausted but finds Astral trapped and unable to hear him.
Elephus doesn't want Yuma to take Astral and leave as Astral has a dual purpose to stop Barian World and provide Astrtal World to its destined goals. The only problem is that Astral needed to be pure to do this and Elephus blames Yuma for it, after converting to a human form. The claim sets in until Yuma realizes the changes were to each others' benefit. Elephus remains firm that Yuma cannot go so Yuma challenges him to a duel. Elephus excepts under the condtiion that should he lose, Astral is free but if he beats Yuma, Yuma remains here forever. Left with no other choice, Yuma agrees and duel preparations get underway. Elephus draws and Yuma knows that he cannot let Elephus' dueling skills get the better of him. Elephus activates 2 copies of Mysterious Monlith, each allowing Elephus to use it as Xyz Material for a Rank 4 Xyz Summon.
With that, Elephus uses his Monoliths as Xyz Material for New Order 4: Empheric Anubis (1000) in Attack Mode. Elephus sets 1 card to end his turn and Yuma hopes the monster isn't as powerful as it is scary. Next, Yuma draws and plays Ganbara Knight (0000) in Attack Mode. Since he played a Level 4 monster, Yuma Special Summons Kagetokage (1100) in Attack Mode. Now he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode but Elephus considers it a revolting reminder of Yuma's bond with Astral and thus shouldn't even exist. (Wait until he sees the real card. It's even worse because it doesn't even have all of this version's benefits.) Yuma considers Utopia a symbol of his and Astrals' friendship but Elephus just needs to destroy Utopia to destroy their friendship. Yuma doesn't know what to do next until he remembers to feel the flow.
With that, he equips Utopia with Reverse Breaker, letting Yuma destroy one of Elephus' Spell/Trap Cards when it attacks and preventing Elephus from activating Spells or Traps during that time. After that, he decides to attack, destroying Elephus' face-down card. However, due to Anbus' effect, Elephus detaches an Xyz Material from it to return the card he lost face-down. Furthermore, he activates it, Mysterious Mirror, to prevent Anubis' destruction in battle and dealing Yuma the Battle Damage instead. In response, Yuma uses Utopia's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate its own attack. It's proof to Elephus that Yuma is more skilled than first believed. Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn but Elephus notes that Yuma has made a grave error by engaging in this duel and uses the power of Shining Draw to potentially devastate him!
