Episode 150: The Ultimate Face-Off (2)

At the duel, still thinking he has a chance, Adrian draws and plays Fog Castle. Next he summons Fog King (0000) in Attack Mode, which can be summoned without tributes by FC's effect, (The real card has this effect but doesn't require anything for it to occur.) and equips him with Royal Sword, giving Fog King a Crest Counter each time it battles another monster. Adrian attacks and due to FK's other effect, the ATK of both monsters becomes 1 (Not so on the real card). FK is also safe from harm by FC's other effect but also prevents that Monster Card Zone from being used. FK also negated the effects of CPA, destroying it. Due to the Equip Spell, FK gains 800 ATK for each Crest Counter, putting its ATK at 800 and Adrian ends his turn. Yubel/Jesse draws and brings out Illusion Brigadier (1100) in Attack Mode (" "). Since its effect is negated, YJ attacks FK, not destroying it but leaving Adrian down to 1800 LPs, FK with 1600 ATK and another Crest Counter. With 4 Crest Counters, Adrian can send it to the Grave and deal YJ 4000 damage.

Adrian doesn't need Exodia. Was it really worth sacrificing Echo for it? YJ is glad Adrian has darkness within his heart and it'll be YJ's victory because of it. Meanwhile, Jaden and his group enter Yubel's lair and when a force separates Jaden from his friends, Jaden encounters, for lack of a better name for them, Memory Bubbles that make him recall past events. We see it was just an illusion of some kind as the group is back where they were and a "bridge" appears. Back at the duel, Adrian learns why Yubel is ranting about Jaden and that his own defeat will allow Yubel to restore her power and her laugh is heard by Jaden from the elevator. Adrian draws and attacks, destroying IB, leaving YJ with 2500 LPs and FK with 2400 ATK and yet another Crest Counter. Next he sets 3 cards to end his turn. Feeling quite winded, YJ kneels down before rising and providing Adrian with another "once I defeat you" speech. Then he draws and activates Akashic Record, letting him draw twice but if the cards aren't new, they're removed from play. Since they're new, YJ activates Nightmare Shuffle, letting him pick 1 random card in his Grave and set it and next turn, if its requirements aren't met, he sends all cards in his hand and on his field to the Grave and restart the process.

YJ decides that he wants to see inside Adrian to find the darkness but when there isn't any, Adrian explains that he wants a world free of pain and suffering and never allowed the darkness to take over in the first place. To take his turn, YJ plays Grave Squirmer (0000) in Attack Mode and attacks, destroying itself and leaving himself down to 100 LPs but triggering GS' effect, which YJ uses on the Equip Spell. However, Adrian activates Crest Burn, putting a Crest Counter on all his remaining Monster Card Zones and YJ ends his turn. Adrian begins by sending his Fog Castle and all cards in his hand to the Grave to let him take back any 4 cards in his Grave and it's pretty clear Adrian wants 4 Exodia pieces. Next he activates Break the Seal to pick 1 Exodia piece and add it to his hand by sending itself and another Break the Seal card to the Grave. Still, because of NS, YJ must reveal his face down and it's Hand of Destruction (rather Hand Destruction as he said in the previous duel), which he can play (I would object because he has no cards in his hand) and Exodia's pieces again go to the Grave. Using Feather of the Phoenix (A Feather of the Phoenix in the CG), Adrian puts 1 card in his Grave on top of his deck. (You must discard 1 card to activate the real card.) Next he sets 1 card face down, thinking it'll be the key to his victory, and ends his turn. YJ mentally realizes it's Echo that he needs to obtain the power from and draws, playing Torch Golem (Grinder Golem in the CG) (3000) in Attack Mode to Adrian's field and giving himself 2 Torch Tokens, which he tributes for Yubel (0000) in Attack Mode. (the real Grinder Golem or Torch Golem prevents you from summoning other monsters the turn it's played. Because of Yubel's effect, a silhouette of Echo appears and along with TG or GG is forced to attack, dealing Adrian all YJ's normal battle damage and winning the duel, sending Adrian to the stars and restoring her power. Now it's time to wait for Jaden.
