Episode 124: Triple Play (1)

Inside the school,  the Duel Ghouls are approaching Hassleberry and his teams' location and they've gotten Syrus. After being told that it's not Syrus anymore, they back their way inside to close the door. They aren't alone as Bastion's team is also providing a blockade. Outside, all Alexis sees are sand, sun and Chazz looking ghoulish. Back inside, Jim and his team are building something from wood and Axel is reassembling his duel disk but pays no attention to Adrian trying to make a conversation and heads out. Recalling the situation they're in, Adrian might just become more powerful than ever! Inside the hospital, Blair awakens with a smile that is short-lived. A few feet over, Crowler shows Bonaparte the number of the remaining students. He worries about the end being near while Bonaparte mentally wonders about Marcel.

Back in the hospital, Jaden says it's not Blair's fault but Blair begins laughing and discovers Winged Kuriboh and Ruby Carbuncle spirits under the sheets and isn't so amused. Regarding Marcel, he's almost got his army assembled. Little does Jaden know that he'll help. At last food is served and it goes over well as everyone gets their fair share but the last rations disappear as the students are still hungry. They could eat all they wanted if they could just reach the food storage facility and that's what three students try to do. Once down there and past security guards, they run into Duel Ghouls at each turn until only one path remains and they dart inside. They discover they've entered a library where Marcel is eating a large steak. Marcel allows them to enjoy the steak in exchange for helping him with his plan. A Polymerization card appears and transforms the trio into three bizarre looking monsters. Back in the classroom where all the remaining students are, Jim explains how those three students escaped before Marcel's voice is heard over the PA system. Marcel proposes a duel and instructs them outside where three duelists are waiting. They've become the ultimate fusion of man and duel spirit (what duel spirits are these?) Axel, Jesse and Jim agree to take on the trio.

The duel gets underway as Jesse's opponent does absolutely nothing, leaving Jesse suspicious but taking his turn by playing Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth (1700) in Attack Mode and gets a direct attack on his opponent, (whom I'll call Clown 1 until his name is revealed) leaving him with 2300 LPs. Jesse hopes his actions don't speak louder than his words (which brings up the shot of Clown 1's face and my question. How does he see what's in his hand if he's facing the opposite direction?) We get to see exactly what Axel's opponent is like (whom I'll call Clown 2) as he gets a remark from Axel before playing Fool Clown (0000) in Attack Mode after setting 1 card face down. With FC summoned, its effect sends all cards in Clown 2's hand to the Grave, including 3 Rough Exploders, whose effects are activated, dealing Axel 500 damage for each one removed from play from the Graveyard, putting his score at 2500. Understandably so, the Ra Yellow and Obelisk Blue students are finding nothing funny about Clown 2's jokes (it's apparent that he can't even do basic multiplication and all the better that his jokes are lame so you can focus on the duel at hand). Clown 3 takes his turn by playing Anchor Knight (1500) in Attack Mode and triggering its effect by discarding 3 cards to deal Jim 600 damage for each, leaving his LPs at 2200. Jaden mentally urges them to play like their lives depend on it because if they don't, these clowns just might!
