Episode 85: Mother Knows Best
Outside Zora's place, Zora is down about her clock being scheduled for replacement thanks to the latest town meeting results and the fact that her son Lindon is coming to visit but the two of them are not friends. As the group is working with Bruno, a guy shows up, remarking on their Duel Runners and what they've done to his room. However, Zora is mad at him for dueling more than being like his father, recalling an argument he had with Zora that started as a child. When he learns that the clock is being taken down today, he starts to bolt but the others decide it's time to look nice first. After some struggles, Akiza gets the tie on right and now the time has come to set things straight with his mom.
Things are off to a good start when Lindon enters until he mentions the nagging Zora had done but not only wasn't it nagging but he's scared out the door. Worse still, he's the one that broke the clock in the first place with all his tinkering as a child. It's enough to convince Lindon to start leaving bur Crow convinces him to duel for that right. With the stakes set, Lindon draws and plays Monster Clock (0000) in Attack Mode, leaving Crow suspicious. Nevertheless, Crow draws and summons Blackwing - Fane the Steel Chain (500) in Attack Mode. Next, he Special Summons Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind (1300) in Attack Mode by its first effect.
His attack with Gale prompts Lindon to activate MC's effect to absorb the attacking monster and raise its ATK by the absorbed monster's putting its ATK up to 1300. Crow's direct attack with Fane by its effect goes through to leave Lindon down to 3500 LPs. Lindon draws and summons Clock Knight #12 (1200) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Clockwork to bring out a Clock Knight monster with a lower Level like Clock Knight #3 (300) in Attack Mode. Then, since both of them can redo a coin toss since there's two Clock Knight monsters on Lindon's field, Lindon uses CK12's effect to flip a coin and gets moon-side up so he uses CK3's effect to get the sun and raise CK12's ATK by 1200 to 2400.
He's successful with CK3's effect, raising its ATK by 1200 to 1500. His first attack with CK12 on Fane destroys Fane to leave Crow down to 2100 LPs but the second prompts Crow to Special Summon Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind (1600) in Defense Mode so Lindon ends his turn, returning his Clock Knights' ATKs to normal. Crow's draw yields him Mirror Force, which he Sets before playing Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North (1300) in Attack Mode and using its effect to revive Blackwing - Fane the Steel Chain in Defense Mode. Then he uses his monsters as Synchro Material (since Blizzard the Far North is a Tuner but they don't tell you that) for Blackwing Armor Master (2500) in Attack Mode. His attack takes out CK3 and leaves Lindon down to 1300 LPs.

It's all the reason for Lindon to surrender the duel but Crow convinces him to continue after a struggle. He draws Time Wizard and recalls the conversation he had with his dad before summoning it (500) in Attack Mode. He uses the effect and as the wand's arrow spins, he recalls his memories. The result gets him the desired effect to leave Crow defenseless. His direct attacks with CK12 and MK win him the duel as Crow opts not to activate his face down Mirror Force in order to let Lindon leave but Lindon was wrong as he's always wanted to be a Clocksmith and races to fix the broken clock as it's what he loves doing. How did Crow know? He looked at Lindon's Deck and got a hunch. That evening, the clock is running normally again and Lindon and Zora hug.
